'Smoke' - a cloud of extremely toxic fumes.
a cloud of extremely flammable, extremely toxic fumes
Bu Bu But Carbon smoke kills plants where as lithium smoke makes them bloom ! as taught in Muh AGW Land classrooms.
@@rocketmunkey1 I'm sure their aim is to give us all lithium too :D
These demons have no limits.
Reminds me of Hydrogen-a colorless, odorless gas, that, if given enough time, turns into people.

Clarkson has it right......ev's are just disposable white goods.....ever tried selling a used refrigerator???
But not a disposable price.
Yes and you don't get locked out of your washing machine with a small child trapped inside... as recently reported.
Selling a used refrigerator is probably easier than selling an EV. At least they don't catch fire.
Yeah, gave 1 away for free and sold another for $50. Just like an EV, a third of its original value.
Clarkson LMAO zero car knowledge. Just a miserably failed Brit funny guy
I'm glad someone is reporting the truth. The MSM won't be covering anything on this subject.
Here in Japan, there has not been a single fire incident involving a Japanese-made EV. The batteries (Toyota-Panasonic, GS-Yuasa, Toshiba) used in Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi EVs are all made in Japan.
Japan's newest submarine (Taigei class) also Adopt and equipped lithium batteries (GS-Yuasa).
An EV spontaneously combusted and caught fire at an AUDI dealer's garage, destroying eight vehicles. Since it was an Audi, I assume the batteries were made in Korea
On Sunday Christian and Vera said ...... Electric Vehicles are not the solution because Internal Combustion Engines are not the problem.
Correct. There is no evidence that EVs will reduce global warming or climate change.
Audi a better quality fire, not your average normal one. Top German engineering.
The battery was probably made in China.
Zyklon B scented fire
Used to be better but you have to look at what the VW group is pushing out the door these days. Engineered - actually OVER engineered to be virtually unrepairable at a reasonable cost
@@jdwht2455 I used to own a 1971 VW Superbeetle. It was extremely easy to repair with minimal hand tools which I kept stored behind the rear seat along with some critical spare parts. I could purchase a rebuild kit for $205 US that included everything needed to rebuild the engine, including a new crank, pistons, "jugs" (cylinders), etc., and have the engine out, rebuilt, and reinstalled in less than 4 hours - even roadside, if needed.
Modern VWs are expensive junk by comparison.
Feuerwagen?
The Audi Etron looks fantastic. If only it had a twin turbo V8 in it?
Yep the Porche Trascan is the same, if only.
Audi engines are terrible. See I Do Cars for teardowns of these engines. At least they're not as bad as Ferrari/Maserati engines. Those were designed by certified idiots.
@@sandralidster473you mean Trashcan? 😂
If only it had a sprinkler system installed 😆
that's what some people will do. No way it would be economical to replace the battery, so we will transplant cheaper systems
The level of stupidity of government officials in the UK is unbelievable. It's mind blowing that these people can't evaluate cause and effect..
But they will never be held accountable!!!
We've still got massive amounts of Huawei telecoms equipment in our networks. They are currently replacing with Nokia stuff which is more expensive and inferior. Ask anyone that works in telecoms! 😅
They are told what to do and to think by their masters in the WEF.
Totally agree. The inmates are now in charge of the asylum!!!!
More important they cannot evaluate the difference between right and wrong but they certainly know how to make them and their ilk rich and the rest of us poor.
As an engineer myself, one thing often overlooked is total lifecycle cost. In the military, this is often referred to as “cradle to grave” costs. I see and can virtually predict that the same governments pushing EVs will slap EV owners with huge “disposal” fees/taxes to address the unspoken environmental issues/costs associated with dealing with these lithium batteries.
Oooh disposal fees will be hysterical 😂
Plus making up the revenue their idiotic policies will have lost from ICE vehicles.
LITHIUM IS HIGHLY UNSTABLE , TNT IS MORE STABLE
Been saying the same thing for years. To those that often predicated how ev cars are “environmentally friendly” I asked what you do at the end of their lifecycle, put them in the ground and wait for fruit trees to grow?
And don't be surprised if you end up paying it twice, once when you buy it and again when you actually dispose of it.
Good thing it didn't explode while
the mechanic was working on it.
Well "NOT YET" give enough time these will be one that does explode 😳that should worry everybody .
I’ve been a mechanic for 18 years at a dealership. We all thought when electric cars become a thing we are going broke…they won’t ever break right? (Bad for a mechanic).. instead it’s been the total opposite.. they are the biggest POS we’ve ever seen..so actually please folks..please keep buying them you’re making mechanics rich for the first time in history
I was in the trade for over 43 years and I knew this whole thing was going to go exactly where it is heading now. The thing is the biggest issue is the massive increase in fires that will be coming more frequently as the EVs age and are sold on to future customers. Insurance scams will be more rampant too as all it takes now is to high side the battery pack and its BBQ time for the vehicle.
One of the mechanics I know hates dealing with them - the training and safety precautions required are crazy, and he said you end up replacing entire systems at huge cost rather than just modules…
But chances are they arent being repaired and just written off? Which is the case?
@@mguytvThat mechanic needs to accept that he is being paid to repair the vehicle, not redesign it. Take the money where he earned it. 🤔
I know the while EV thing is a shambles but I did come across one glimmer of hope re batteries:- ruclips.net/video/QstBDw7UJ6Q/видео.htmlsi=6GEbSl4qZKbjfePE
Ive got an idea !! Why don't governments butt out and let people buy what they WANT to buy and manufacturers produce and sell what the public WANTS !!!
Because people keep paying tax and voting.
That's why.
Because daddy gubment knows what's best for you and the future of humanity.
Some how, without any relevant education/knowledge on the subject.
Because WEF? 🤬
This is not how communist governments work.
Because we don't want the air in our cities to be like the air in Chinese cities.
Buying a Cybertruck and then being 'shocked' by the rapid tyre wear, is like listening to a politician, and then being shocked when they lie their head off.
Safe cars, absolutely not, not for passengers, mechanics or the environment.
Should ask the EV Owner if he is going to buy another EV?
Depends if the insurance company covers his losses.

How does a brand new E-tron feel? It seems your old E-tron had some rapid unscheduled disassembly. It won’t be reassembled on the planned schedule - so what colour new car will you choose?
A Volvo local to me caught fire while driving, it was flagged down and the driver got out, he saw the flames and tried to get the kids from the rear seats, but none of the doors would open, they had to smash the windows out to get the kids out, the driver suffered 60% burns as flames shot out from under the car. Luckily the kids were ok. The Volvo was brand new with no damage prior to this event. Ain't no way i'll be driving an EV.
S#!t. That is the stuff of nightmares.
Electric cars are a safety hazard, petrol cars would be banned if they were that unsafe.
Manufacturers would recall the ICE vehicles to correct the problem but since it’s EVs crickets 🦗🤨🙄🤔
12:25 "who would buy an electric jaguar?"........ Given jaguar is notorious for their electrical issues, it's a recipe for more lemons
As I recall, the electrics for Jaguar (and many other British cars) was Lucas. Lucas was called "The Prince of Darkness" for good reason!

If I was a shop owner, I wouldn't want EVs anywhere near my shop.
Any damaged EV taken into an enclosed service bay should be fitted with cables attached to the bumper or frame so that the car can be easily dragged out if it catches fire. Firefighters shouldn't have to fight a vehicle fire indoors and also have to contend with protecting the building and all the other cars and equipment within. If I were an insurer, I would make that a policy requirement.
Good idea, yes. I'd go further and make a single lift bay outside, for EVs.
All EVs, 'damaged' is subjective, a manufacturing flaw can hide for a while..
This is good for the construction industry,
you can build one building for each EV
you plan to work on, if you get another
customer you have another mechanic's garage built.
😄
I'm hearing that tyre shops are refusing to work on EVs because they have to jack them up and simply don't want the risk or the liability. Who can blame them?
The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that don't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver, and digital currencies (BTC, ETH...).
I began investing in stocks and Def earlier this year, and it is the best choice l've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, and maximize it.
What opportunities are there in the market, and how do I profit from it?
You can make a lot of money from the market regardless of whether it strengthens or crashes. The key is to be well positioned.
I would really like to know how this actually works.
All you need is a good capital and the service of a professional broker, with those your investment will most certainly produce high yields.
I wouldn't want to work in a garage that repairs electric cars/hybrid cars. The risk of injury is not worth it.
The flames on an EV aren't decals 😬
They need to stop calling them "zero-emission vehicles"🚬
Yes, that statement has always been a lie. There are huge emissions, as well as environmental damages, from mining the components of the batteries. Child slave labor is used in some places to mine the cobalt and the lithium, and it takes a lot of "fossil fuels" (actually hydrocarbons aren't from fossils at all) to do the mining & provide the electricity. The whole "zero emissions" thing is a RORT.
Electric vehicles have so many disadvantages and risks - I don't understand how anyone thought that they would be a good idea.
Because the average person is an idiot, they are sheep, believing the bullshit that governments push, no critical thinking skills. I don’t feel sorry for them, if they are unable to rationalise what is right and what is wrong , more fool them.
Brainwashing, that's how.
Oh 😮 I'm saving the planet 😂
They're a good idea if your goal is to get government grants, drain customer's bank accounts, and make sure only the rich can drive.
We always have our EV outside the house in case it catches fire!
What makes you think you will have time to get out if it goes up with you in it?
Here in Malaysia, we usually parked our newly acquired cars in the house compound, yet, we have one family parking their new EV parked 0ne block away from their own home, err, beside somebody's house, LOL.

The fire brigades in the UK advise that you maintain a 15 metre radius between your charging EV and ANYTHING flammable.
There have been cases where the EV was left charging just outside the owner's home garage, only to self-combust in spectacular fashion, setting fire to the garage and (by extension) the house.

I wanted a Chevy Volt because of its convenience until my nephew crashed his used Volt in a very minor accident and had to replace the entire car when a gas car would have been repaired for about $2k. There's nothing protecting that battery which can't withstand any minor hit. We were also told they rarely need service which isn't true at all, and the service prices are through the roof. Listening to your channel sealed the deal. We purchased a regular gas car this time again. I'm disabled and need a reliable vehicle cuz all my doctors are on the other side of the county cuz the ones in my area can't handle chronic and complicated cases like me.

People are buying 30% of EVs sold in UK. The other 70% of these cars are purchased by leasing companies.
I bet that 30% are mostly leases also.
After dealing with Li-Po and Li-ion batteries myself, I would never put my family in an E-vehicle.
I can see why that Audi electric car factory in Brussels is probably going to be shut down...

If you're not get grilled in your EV, it makes you a least sick.
I had a 2022 Nissan leaf. I drove it very gingerly and rotated the tires every 5000 miles. The original tires uniformly wore out at 13k miles. Way too early in my opinion. I had the suspension and the car checked over by the dealer to make sure nothing was wrong with the car to cause the excessive wear. When I asked the tire shop, they said it’s common. Sure enough there were two other EVs in the shop getting new tires when I had mine replaced and the other owners confirmed similar experiences. That’s ridiculous. Needless to say, it was my last EV.
1. EVs are heavy.
2. EVs use regenerative braking.
3. EVs have a lot of torque on acceleration.
So yes, they put an enormous strain on tires.
Nice to have a longer video from you
Glad you enjoyed
@@mguytv congrats love the format as well. Have a tech question for you being an engineer. Since EV fires are so dangerous and difficult to handle, is there a way to quickly drain energy out of batteries when undergoing service or repairs? I don’t know if possible but why not?
No way to drain the power fast.
@@fredfred2363 wonder why. Well, another reason why I think EV cars are stupid.
We ask ourselves 'why, why, why would they do this?' when the simple fact is it's deliberate. When the electric car craze crashes, all those 'companies' who received subsidies get to just walk away, leaving a colossal financial and environmental mess to the public to clean up. They will never live to pay the consequences, and they know it.
I read something new on the web that people are figuring out EV‘s exist for the purpose of greenwashing!!
Already heard about this. Horrible! Several other cars non EV's were totaled due to the water and smoke damage.
It would cost more than the car was worth to decontaminate it. There are cars from the Luton fire that were undamaged, just contaminated but the owners will never get them back.

Yesterday thousands of people in Lebanon were injured, and at least 9 killed, when their pagers simultaneously exploded in their pockets. At this point, it is not clear if there were actual explosives in the pagers or if someone figured out how to cause their Lithium Ion batteries to overheat and explode.

“Disposable” is the new trend for everything, all the new buildings and houses I’ve worked on are built for a sale and not to last. Makes me wonder why the hell I'm building this crap. Probably the same way EV mechanics feel.
Every EV owner denies the extra wear on tires and Breaks(if they use them) but yet every piece of evidence proves other wise.... The problem is those not having the issue literally hardly do any mileage so will not notice it for sometime...

Makes me sad about Jaguar. My grandfather had a 1964 E-series he outright babied, never took it out in bad weather - basically a gorgeous summer day car. Sadly sold it in the early 80's for like $7k, I shudder to think what it's worth today.

This reminds me of the time that Ford had to recall 634,000 of their 3 cylinder gas vehicles because they tended to burst into flames because of fuel leaks.
And your point is? If you're trying to tell us that gasoline cars catch fire every once in a great while, we already knew that. EVs just do it more often and more spectacularly.
Business opportunity: car hoists on rails so you can hook on and tow the whole flaming mess outside to the optional moat.
Yeah that is just what you need with a fire the temp of the sun... get it up near the roof! And then it can rain down the equivalent of white phosphorus artillery rounds on the workshop. Speaking of petrol cars going up, here in nz my 5litre AU XR8 Falcon went up over 5k in value in the insurance blue book this year. It was 7.8k 4 years ago, then 11k 3 years ago, 14k 2 years ago, 17.8k last month when I renewed the insurance it up to $23400! Gotta love a gasoline powered 302 V8! 😂
Of topic but. I was looking at getting a new Honda petrol mower... they are pushing battery ones ...they are over $200 more expensive and dont even include batteries and chargers 😮
I bought a second hand victa off gumtree for $50. Changed the plug, oil and air filter. Works like a charm for two years so far. New one similar would be around $900.
Tire wear isn't just from torque or weight, it's also a result of the tires being lower rolling resistance tires that have higher wear rates. If you put standard tires on one they will lose as much as 30% of their range but gain tire wear.
I wonder if the problem of EV fires will affect the sale of apartments in blocks having underground parking? One day a fire in a residential block will highlight the risk.
It emptied out that apartment block in Korea, several hundreds homeless.
Apologize if this has been addressed before, Teslas are heavy, 6000 lbs I think, which is the weight of my 3/4 ton diesel pickup, if your car is hit by one these especially at higher speeds, your vehicle is likely to sustain significant damage
Kudos on the channel, I never miss an episode
just look at yhe people driving tesa they look verry stressed
I'd be stressed too, if my heavy mobile bomb had a really powerful magnet mounted behind the front bumper!
The voltage of the traction battery should be limited by law to a maximum of 48 Volts, instead of the 1,000 Volts of many modern EVs. Higher the battery voltage, lower the cost of copper wirings and power inverters.
Imagine if our houses were wired with a 10 KV system - the condensation of vapours from a steaming spaghetti dish would set the house on fire. I don't know how the EV designers thought it was viable to keep a 1,000 Volt battery sealed from the environment for many years in a moving car.
Maybe it is just me, but I'm truly scared of sitting on a 1 KV battery which is just waiting for ingress of few water drops to set itself on fire.
Thanks for your advocacy. Maybe pointing out this fatal flaw common to all EVs would help.
Greetings,
Anthony
A carbon track would be enough.
Replacement for a battery is more expensive then the car is worth.!!🤨
That’s why insurance companies total out EVs after small wrecks. $$$$
Live in Arizona. On my way to get cigarettes the other day, all traffic was stopped for an accident. Turns out it was a relatively new Lexus EV that caught on fire. A lane and half of the highway WAS COMPLETELY MELTED AND DESTROYED. Hazmat teams deployed. Lane closure ... who the hell knows.
