I discovered this band at sixteen. A friend showed me them. I absolutely loved her. She moved away, got married, and has a baby. I think of her every day. I think of a drink every day. I drink every day. My family has nothing to do with me. I hold a job and support myself. I'm at least proud of that. It's so sad how a band you liked the beat of in high school becomes a band you relate to in early adulthood.
Back in college (probably 10 years ago) I went to a house party where a Fidlar cover band was playing. After one of their songs I yelled, "Play West Coast!" The singer looked at me, then at his band mates, then at me and started playing West Coast. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.
Im almost 30 and was around 17-18 when I first listened to this band, almost feels like the blink of an eye doesnt it ? I will always remember those carefree days very fondly... Now everything feels so complicated, however this songs makes everything feels less complicated... Have a great day you all and remember to enjoy the little things, like listening this song at full volume, taking your old board for a little ride or watching your favorite movie when you were a teen while eating a tasty burguer or pizza and drinking Cheap Bear...
fuck dude.. i started listening when I was 15, right when I started having this whole drug period and now I'm almost 23 stuck between having to grow up and wanting to stay in that teenage drug life. hell I even got a FIDLAR tattoo when I was 16
Am I the only one who actually finds this a really sad song? It's got a massive Modest Mouse vibe with how the lyrics interchange with the instrumentation and the melody. Great song
I think thats what makes it a great song! Its both! Obviously a lot of people kind of equate it to summer time fun, skating, drinking, friends, etc. But at the same time it also mentions “I’d rather die, keep getting high” and knowing Zac probably actually felt that way and was doing lots of Heroin when this song was written do make it a little dark. But yeah thats why its rad! Its really happy and fun to those who want it to be and its also sad to other people who listen to it. I think that all makes it a really good song.
I actually came from that game and I’ve never heard of this band and I’m sure I won’t be the last. Really liking these guys. They really stood out in that soundtrack in a good way.

I discovered Fidlar through a friend. I had mentioned that I was into old school hardcore punk, He was like “duuuude do you know about Fidlar?” And I was like “who?” So he threw on the white on white album, we got cross faded and jammed the whole thing. Thanks for the memories Fidlar, you guys seriously capture a screenshot of teenage angst, addiction, and sadness. My favorite band of all time. Hands down.
2:29 “It’s so suburban and so boring, I should try and get a life but I don’t want that 9-5, I’d rather die keep getting high, pack my things and say goodbye” I can’t tell you how much I relate to this
Man, i know this goes for a lot of us here but this song is so special to me. I found fidlar in middle school when i was going through the unfortunate disaster that is middle school. I had this friend from elementary who moved up to the same middle as me and we'd swap bands and stuff like that but never got super close. One of the first that I showed him was fidlar and we both got super super big on it for the whole year we'd listen to nothing else pretty much. It was the same for the next year but things changed when we both went into our first year of high school. We got super close and bonded a bunch of everything and one of them was how much we looked back on fidlar. It was only a couple years ago we first started listening to these guys but we had both changed so much since then it was just amazingly nostalgic for us both. Me and this dude practically spent all of freshman year hanging out at school or at the park or the arcade or whatever he's my best friend. And fuck man, i'm writing this at 11:39 pm on september 20th 2020 and my best mate is leaving. he hasn't yet cause of covid but some day hes going back to Japan and we don't know when he'll come back. This moves the song so much for me from just nostalgia for middle school where we'd just play pubg all morning then talk about rock whenever we weren't in class. This'll remind me of all the bomb ass times I had with my best bro. wherever you are, whoever you are i know some of you can relate to this. And to all you who do rock on brother man it's what our best bros would want.
