    I knew the ll's would finally get their due attention! Finally, people recognized these works of art. Thanks Dick Nesbitt, the designer who helped a family of six around town and elsewhere. Keep them hot and racing

    I so miss my 78 Mustang II. It had 302 V8. 3 speed automatic. If it wasn't for the 2 barrel carburetor that car would have really moved. Thank you very much for posting this video.

      Sounds like a great car. I agree with you on the carburetor, my king is fitted with a 4 barrel edelbrock and moves like a bolt. My pleasure.

    My husband and I never thought of the Mustang II as a lesser car. Ford, was and is to be commended for returning to the original pony car concept. They were a nice looking car with a beautiful low belt line in the true late 1970's and 1980's style. To quote the Volvo advert in the 1970's "fat cars die young". People are now coming out and showing their love for the Mustang II and Fox Mustang that followed.

    People bash this car but don't know that it was the lightest of all Mustangs. I had a 300hp 302 in a 74 (only Mustang with no V-8 option) and it was faster than all the SS Chevelles and tunnel ram Firebirds where I grew up. It made it into my high school yearbook. Miss that car.

    at the 2:34 mark is my old C2 tried to buy it back from the guy I sold it to that worked at Ford I sold it to him in 1996 with a blown out 4th gear I checked back with him 2 years later and he hardly ever drove the car I asked if he he wanted to sell it back and he said no he bought it for an investment, i tried every year going to his house and leaving my number every time just in case he changed his mind, then one of the years I went back I think it was around 2001 or 2 and he told me he sold it, my heart just dropped I teared up all the way back home to Warren Michigan my Dad and I had alot of time invested in that car and he just passed away in June of 2016..How I didnt know about this show is beyond me..Whoever owns this car please contact me if you would like to sell the car...The car is a 4 speed with an aftermarket hoodscoop with a orange light tucked inside the scoop and the chrome hoodpins cd changer etc, I still have the original window sticker for the car $5950 new

    • @Kimberlyexpects
      @Kimberlyexpects 7 лет назад +4

      It's considered the most hated Mustang because it's thought to be nothing more than a glorified Pinto. With a lot of gaudy stripes all over it. To hide the fact that they had zero horsepower. I think the top of the line 302 V-8 was rated at around 100HP max. Most Mustang purists don't even consider it a Mustang, so prices remain low for them. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder so if you like them. By all means get you one and ignore the criticism.

    • @williamsanseverino1751
      @williamsanseverino1751 7 лет назад +5

      Kimberlyexpects Actually, the highest rated 302 in the II had 139 hp, about 15-20 hp less than a comparable Z28 with a 350 V8. It was on the heels of said Z28 by being about .08 seconds behind it from 0-60. The II was considered slow but the heavier Z28 with a 350 was not. That made no sense. It also had the same rating as the big 1973 Mustang, yet, the II handled much better, especially in Cobra II/King Cobra guise. Yet, no one complained about the heavier '73 model actually being SLOWER than a II. Again, something that made no sense.

      William Sanseverino throw on some good breathing aluminum heads a four barrel carburetor an e303 cam headers and exhaust and you got a rocket ship.

    • @scoman73
      @scoman73 3 года назад +1

      @@williamsanseverino1751 Not to mention that the 302 in the II had comparable performance to the original mustang.
      1965 Mustang 289.."As for straight-line performance, R&T's 210-horsepower 289/four-speed car did about what the editors expected: 0-60 mph in nine seconds (vs. 11.2 for an automatic 260), a standing quarter-mile of 16.5 at 80 mph, 110 mph all out, and 14-18 mpg."
      1976 Cobra II 302 4spd... "1976 Ford Mustang II Cobra II - 8.9 seconds
      You can’t deny its initial appeal-a glorious sobriquet from the past, Carroll Shelby paint job, scoops, spoilers, white-letter tires, V-8 motor, and four on the floor. Sounds neat, but what you get is a mini Mark IV all dressed up in performance gear with nothing to make it go. Your mother-in-law deserves more than 105.7 mph. To strangle a 302-cubic-inch motor down to a sickly 134 horsepower is an amazing-but embarrassing-feat of modern technology." the 1978 King Cobras had 139 hp

      You clearly know nothing about the Mustang II if you think it’s “jUsT a PiNtO!!” Maybe the styling was a bit similar but the Mustang II shared very little with the Pinto. Fun fact: The original Mustang shared more parts from the Falcon than the Mustang II did with the Pinto.
