Love ya guys but part 3 happened in 1987, 12 years ago to part 4’s 1999. Joseph cheated before part 3 happened, 4 years before part 3. The flashback is exactly what it implies, Joskue couldn’t control his stand and over 50 days nearly died, suffering exactly what Holly went through. Because Jotaro beat DIO, Joskue was able to survive
Umm actually I believe josuke survived because his fighting spirit was awaken by seeing the boy with the hair allowing him to control his stand... Although he would if been saved anyway
@@TbA500N nah thats wrong it literally says in the episode that for 50 days no one knew if he would make it implyingthat he was sick the whole time. Just read my guy
@@dasschnecke3025 Yeah that's what he's saying. For 50 days he was sick and as his conditioned worsened his mom tried to take him to the big hospital, but due to the snow storm they got stuck and saved by the guy with the pompadour. That event inspired Josuke giving him the strength to overcome the stand sickness and develop a stand, which is why he has one and Holly doesn't. The stories don't contradict.
@@marche800
50 days is about the time Holly would’ve died and the same amount of time the crusaders needed to defeat DIO. If Josuke was actually sick for 50 days (like it’s implied here) he obviously didn’t overcome his stand sickness and was saved by the crusaders just like Holly.
@@dasschnecke3025 then why does he retain his stand while holly lost hers?
"Can we just burn down the house?" No, but yes.
You hush 😂
*emporio flashbacks*
Abby: Can we just burn down the house.
What a great idea
Rohan: JOSUKE!!!!
Why not do that while playing an alien dice?
But her friends will burn to be paper
I’m an alien
Some future stand or something maybe.
I wish I had half the talent Rohan has, but he can keep his twisted mind.
Sanity in insanity
He's not twisted he's just passionate.
That not a twisted mind that's passion for his work
Araki never planned to do a time travel plot. The guy who saved Josuke was just some random delinquent who wanted to help. That and the fact that it's Koichi narrating the story, he literally says he doesn't know all the details.
Therefore he basically just imagines Josuke, makes sense
Nah, Araki just literally forgot
@@CelestialLimbo hey didn't forget the plot there is a whole video on youtube about it , he didn't imagine josuke just a guy who may have looked similar but due to the fact the they shared similar hair, however they are clear not the same person the point of the random delinquent is to show how ppl can be truly good even on their worst days , it's to show a contrast of the outward appearance that is heavily judged and who they truly are on the inside
@@CelestialLimbo Nah, you just say that because a shitty theory didn't come true.
@@CelestialLimbo Araki doesn't forget. Schuckmeister just took a meme meant for fun and blew it up so idiots can say Araki forgot for no reason over things that weren't forgotten 💀
The Whole Time travel Josuke theory is a pretty unique one! But sadly no, it isn't him. When Koichi was telling the story, he himself stated he wasn't exactly sure of the full details. After hearing about the 'Hero' Of the story, it's most likely that Koichi had made the Hero in the vision of Josuke, since it reminded him a lot. Mainly because the hairstyle was all the trend back in the day, where Josuke is the only one with that Hair in modern times.
And yes, Josuke getting sick does connect with Holy getting sick at the same time. But this also proves that he was born a few years before Dio's curse.
Oh I thought the time travel thing was an idea that got scrapped like the thing with Dio having every stand ability.
@@antiantim5541 That's not true either. It's a common misconception from Dio using a Hermit Purple like Stand periodically throughout part 3, but it was clarified by Araki to be Jonathan's Stand that Dio can use because he has Jonathan's body.
From JOJO A-GO!GO! Stand Dictionary p.33 (taken from jojowiki, com)
"He's able to use a similar clairvoyance as Joseph because his body is Jonathan's from the neck down."
@@yambear7100 I wish that was explained in the anime...
Yes that is true, an easier way to explain that the man that helped his mom and him is a random man, but since Josuke thought he was so cool and really nice. He copied his hairstyle to remind him of the man and because he was super cool, so if you insult Josuke’s hair, it’s basically insulting his hair since he copied his hairstyle.
90% of comments “ Josuke is not a time traveler, that’s a stranger”
The other 10% thinking they’re being smart by indirectly confirming the house gets burned down by quoting Abby and adding a sarcastic quip.
Junji Ito. That’s who they were thinking of.
Yes. The black and white manga artist
@@waifuconnoisseur4789 the snails gave it away.
@@mileshill7196 by their description Araki fits oddly well
@@jjdude00 lol yeah, but in the context of the creepy atmosphere, i was leaning towards Ito.
@@mileshill7196 yea i knew they were, i just love that they brought up snails
That person isnt meant to be josuke btw. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking thats him. The guy is supposed to represent a theme of part 4
@SoundCloud: KoChang The teenagers who had that hair at the time were criminals or at least problematic, so that guy probably got into a fight and saw Josuke's mom car in his way home.
I still think this was supposed to be part of the plot later but Araki changed his mind
@SoundCloud: KoChang he looked like a typical high school delinquent so he probably just got out of a fight
@@CaptainButt there is an interview during part 4's production back in the 90s where araki said that it wasnt supposed to be josuke.
@@frogcrow4170 I know, but people can lie, specially if they regret doing something. Don't get me wrong, if somebody asked me I would tell them that he's not supposed to be Josuke, but I still believe in my theory.
I remember when this first happened in the manga, people kept saying that dude with the same hair cut as Josuke was Josuke from the future lmfao. Good times.
I mean it probably was and then Araki changed his mind or forgot. Again.
@@steveman9668 nah shat araki is using there is called an unreliable narrator, and what we're seing is Koichi's imagination that is more or less filling in the gap of the stranger with josuke in the present
@@muggg1950 Araki is a man that thinks King Crimson makes sense, I'm not trusting a word he says.
@@muggg1950 You're welcome to try
@@muggg1950 Huh the only explanation I've heard that actually makes sense. Probably because it has almost nothing to do with erasing time.
The funniest thing is...his drawing ISN'T part of his Stand. He just draws that well and that fast xD
9:35 "Can we just burn down the house?" LOL
if it was that easy though. I mean his stand is strong.
I think heavens door would be pretty weak against long distance stands
It wasn’t Josuke, it was a really common hair style at the time in Japan in the 80’s.
Part 3 was like 10 years ago. Josuke was a kid when Dio awakening the World caused all the Joestar's stands to start manifesting. When he died Holly and Josuke's stand went back to being dormant, Since Holly doesn't have the same fighting spirit her dad and son have her stand probably wouldn't have awakened. Josuke's Stand eventually awakened somehow. I don't think they ever say why or when.
The man who saved Josuke gave him this sense of altruism which is reflected on Crazy Diamond, this makes me think the reason why he adapted to Dio's curse is because he gained resolve from that man and it made him unlock the stand.
“Can we just burn down the house?” *smiles in foreshadowing* :)
Imagine willingly insulting josukes hair
"the black and white manga artist"
Well that certainly narrows it down.
Apparently it does cause people know, I don't tho lol
@@TimothyGod I know it's late, but she's talking about the mangaka Junji Ito.
Just to clarify, that man is NOT future Josuke. It was just a kind man with a pompadour.
The mangaka(manga writer) is junji ito
The manga is Uzumaki
“Burn the house down” she says... *Epitaph noises*
Yeah this is never coming back, like everyone assume it’s time traveling Josuke but, it’s just some random dude.
DIO had two stands, the one that looked like Hermit Purple was Jonathan’s, the World is his own.
Dio had two stands ?? I only know about the world.
@@anuragsosa if u pay some attantion to the few first ep of p3 u can see it for like 3 sec
@@beautifullsmile969 yeah, it's in the post credit scene of the episode before the Tower of Grey episode. DIO uses it to take a spirit photo of Joseph on the plane
"Can we just burn down the house?" LMFAO😉
Just to be clear, that is not Josuke from the future, that is just a random man who heled Josuke, and thats why Josuke admires him so much so he based his haircut of his
Not just haircut i think, josuke make himself looks like him
@@dananaditya9347 definitely, it's why he wears the blue uniform rather than the green one
@@LowIntSpecimen I don't think the uniform is proposital, since based on other students Koichi's green uniform seems to be the costumized one(everyone wears blue, while Koichi's the only one in green), but Josuke and that guy wore the same type of shirt under their uniform, even the same colour, so Josuke probably saw him without his jacket when he took it off and thought he looked really cool
I think some of the confusion about whether the person in the flashback is definitely Josuke or not comes from the cultural separation. Josuke's yankee pompadour is outdated in 1999 but would be more commonly worn by japanese punks in the 80's. He's the only one we see in this Part that wears his hair like that so we automatically assume it's him but there would be way more people with that hairstyle back then to keep the answer more ambiguous
Kinda just wish akraki gave the stranger more unquie details to distinguish him from JoJo so people wouldn't have fight about this shit.
I dont think that was why people get that impression. When the flashback began we all already knew it would relate to Josuke's hair. The thing that confuses people I think is that Araki made the random savior look so much like Josuke the only design difference being the uniform. His hair color is unique to the Higashikatas as well. I understand that the flashback is in Koichi's imagination so he imagined the savior as looking like Josuke its also thematically relevant to Josuke's character but Araki could have made him look more unique so as to not confuse people unless he intended to use it as a red herring. Like give him a grey uniform, brown hair, and a different jawline. They also dont give him a voice actor which could lead people into thinking it's supposed to be a mystery. Another thing that makes it weird is that the savior appears randomly out of nowhere bloody and then disappears without a trace. The fact that they specifically add that Tomoko looked for him and couldnt find him is also weird and to some who like to theorize points towards some kind of time fuckery. I understand that hes supposed to be the manifestation of the story's theme but whether it was intentional or not it definitely is misleading.
11:20 I love how they have the counter at the bottom left to tell you how fast he's thinking and that every time a character monologues in this show or tries to think rather than act. Its most likely happening in 0.100 of a second.
I kinda like the idea of the person that saved Josuke being an unknown delinquent with a heart of gold (which is what Josuke grows up to be). It shows how random acts of kindness can influence and impact others in different ways.
The GIF of Rohan saying "I won" is one of my favourite GIFs of all time
I love how everyone hated Rohan in this episode, but became so attached to him at the end of the part.
finally my favorite opening of this part of jojo is here
Girls, girls, you're overthinking this for Josuke's past.
Remember, this was during the point where Jotaro and the JoBros were going after DIO, so this was during the year of 1987.
That was obviously just Prince helping them out after he visited Japan as part of one of his tours. Why else do you think Josuke decided to model himself after Prince? The pompadour, the purple motif, all the clues are right there girls.
A quick debunk, the hairstyle was a common hairstyle used for delinquet characters In the 1970-1980's. Josuke's outfit is a school uniform but with special pins on it, the boy's outfit did not have any pins and had a III on his collar. (Third year student making him a senior.) Josuke was a freshman at the time of diamond is unbreakable.
Jonathan did have a stand, the Passion... and its similar to Hermit Purple but Jonathan didn't know he had it in the first place
Of note is the fact that Jotaro and Joseph only had their stands for a few months when Stardust Crusaders started. They were not all that proficient with them yet, unlike Polnareff, Abdul and Kakyoin, whom had them since they were young. Same thing with Josuke. He's had Crazy Diamond for about a decade and he had time to play with it. That's why he is so skilled with it.
The guy helping moving the car isn’t Josuke from the future he’s what Koichi is imagining and think what he looked like because Josuke based his looks off that dude.
Jonathan has a stand similar to Joseph. All Hamon users develop stands that are similar to hermit purple. Jonathan's is called The Passion
The Passion was actually a name from the Jorge Joestar novel... Araki mentioned that Jonathan's stand is named Hermit Purple 2 (which is a much shittier name lmao)...
How do you guys know this ? Also what does The Passion do ?
@@JesusPerez-pe8vk The passion was the stand that looked like Hermit Purple but with roses on it that we saw Dio used in SC
@@JesusPerez-pe8vk They posses the same if not slightly similar abilities of Hermit Purple. They utilize Clairvoyance/Farsight and possibly Future Sight?? (As is theorized with Ton Petty but this only remains as speculation)
I honestly don’t like that. Everyone’s soul is different, so everyone’s Stand should be different. Why are Hamon users an exception 😂?
Junji ito
I don't know why everyone thinks that's Josuke, he has a different uniform. The thing they have in common was that they have the same hair and that was the point of the scene in the first place.
His face looks a lot (not to say identical) to Josuke's.
Probably a changed script.
Well its fun to think of it as a time travel thing and it would be better if we just let it a mystery
Damn you're right. Characters in Jojo only have 1 set of clothes, if it was other anime we would be 100% certain this was same person :-).
@@shadydickson3398 Araki I heard has a habit of writing half his storyline on the fly (which kinda explain why JoJo is as bizarre as it it's name implies) so maybe he might've wanted to do a time travel plot for the finale while he was writing this but maybe he changed his mind later as he wrote the story. Fortunately this "plot hole" doesn't impact the end story too much since it's kinda ambiguous so it works.
Rohan is the fantasized version of Araki about himself
Josuke was born at around the same time Dio was discovered 4 years before the events of part 3. My theory is, Joseph, after finding this out, had an affair with a random woman hoping that this child would be "plan B" incase if they failed to stop Dio.
There was no Plan B in Joseph's mind. Its probably just a one night stand thing since he didnt even know he got the girl pregnant.
Heaven's door is scary because the effects of the stand are so encompassing. If he writes his victim cannot do harm to him, they literally cannot do ANYTHING that would bring harm even indirectly like telling someone about his ability or warning them when he's about to attack. It's a total nullification. His stand would be extremely scary if he was willing to alter more than just basic behaviour.
For those that are still curious about the metric conversion, 20 kg is about 40 lbs. Koichi's really small for a high schooler too, at barely 40 kg (roughly 85 lbs) too. So, you know, waking up suddenly missing half your body weight is kind of a big deal.
5:56 YO that actually does remind me of Phinks
Just to let Abby know the horror manga she was referring to at the start is called UZUMAKI, and it's getting a anime at the end of this year. Yall should both react to it ;)
I love that Abbi instantly said Phinx XD. As for Old-Man 'D', remember the mom's reaction to Jotaro. She remembered her experience.
Junji ito collection, ( hopefully I’m spelling it right) that’s the horror manga abi mentioned
Lisa Lisa looked pretty young in her 50s. Considering his current age and Josuke's, Joseph would've been around 50 too, so he would've looked younger than an actual 50 year old if we take his mom or Straizo as an example.
Yeah but they practiced hamon throughout their years. Joseph did not due to laziness or lack of motivation
joseph was 62
@@danielestrada1271 You're assuming hamon just goes away magically. He was still proficient at using it, it was just rendered useless because stands just ignore it.
And hamon isn't some guaranteed permanent youth. Even a master like Straizo still looked old when he got to 75.
Love the video Imon Nation and ABI Nation stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
“Hello I’m not Josuke I’m here to save you I’m not Josuke.”
Rohan is amazing and Heavens Door is a stand I would kill to have. Just imagine this: you go to a shopping mall an write on every person there that they want to give you 5 bucks. doing that once a month you can live without any problem. Fucking amazing
Also another point, the "josuke" didn't have his usual jacket with the hole in it
Abi, you're thinking of "Uzumaki" by Junji Ito, he's a horror icon! Unlike Rohan, he's actually rather sweet in real life, and was very nice when he signed my copy
9:35 Interesting idea
I loved that pun
"I've won"
*B O N K*
Junji Ito's Uzumaki?
*CHASE YOU!!!* such a banger that i didnt like in the first time.. but now i cant stop singing.. and now we have the best character with the best drip in the crew... the bizarre adventure continues
15:00 So there's a theory I've heard that Araki was going to have that actually be Josuke going back in time to save himself as a little kid, but he couldn't figure out how to put it into the story, so in the end it's just some random guy. It isn't Josuke. But yeah, him getting sick as a kid was him being affected by getting a Stand; they were saying that when Josuke was sick was when Jotaro and everyone were travelling to fight Dio. And that occurred in 1987 or 88, I believe, and Diamond Is Unbreakable takes place in 1999, so Josuke was absolutely alive during that time.
20:30 Huh, that'd be a pretty neat twist on how Crazy Diamond could "fix" Josuke. I like that idea a lot, Abi.
21:00 Yes, The World is Dio's Stand. Jonathan's Stand was basically Hermit Purple; Dio used it once waaaaay back at the beginning of the arc, and then never uses it again. It doesn't have a connection to the Jostars; it just happens to be the same power that Star Platinum has for some reason (probably because Araki couldn't figure out any other way to beat something that broken).
Josuke never went back in time it’s just some dude.
Josuke was 4 years old when Stardust Crusaders happened...
I love how this whole part for them is just #LeaveKoichiAlone
"is that phinks?" LM,AOPAOA
When Dio got a stand every joestar got one, josuke was already born so basicly If u get a stand all ur descendants alive will get a stand too, josuke was a kid And not strong for stand at the time for his stand so he passed the same fever And problems as holly
Well, don't forget when Joseph cheats with Josuke's mom, he was slightly younger than how he was in Stardust Crusaders. Part 3 is 10-11 years before part 4, and Josuke is 15 or 16 in this part.
Is Abby thinking of “Uzumaki” ?
The horror manga they mention should be UZUMAKI
no that guy that looked like josuke simply was that, he looked similar, no time travel or anything
Koichi's stand is named Echoes Act Two, curious where the whole reverb thing came from. Josuke modeled his look of the man who saved his life, that's why they look similar.
This opening or the second opening of Part 5 is my favorite depending on the mood I'm in, curious what both of yours will be when you're all caught up.
Reverb is the American subs/dubs copywrite safe version of Echos, because Echoes is the title of a song by Pink Floyd.
@@robertmauck4975 No I mean where they're getting this idea that he's called Echoes considering they can clearly hear Koichi say "Echoes" when summoning him as well as the subtitles saying Echoes.
"creepy but handy" if only you knew...
EDIT: in relation to the story of the series. not in the weird way i made it sound.... fuuu-
No, that was not Josuke, that was just a kind stranger.
Just a quick reminder, the man is not Josuke from the future, it's just a random thug.
That's not Josuke, girls. Is just a random guy with a cool hair style.
I think abi is taking about jungi Ito manga(forgot how to spell his name)
