Peter Gunn was an icon of the late 50s and early 60s. The show was smart, stylish with pitch perfect score, atmosphere, and attitude.
Craig Stevens was such a nice, genuine man. A real class act!
a gentleman. j.
So much respect for the smooth detective with a proclivity for the night time and a beautiful singer. Craig Stevens you are one of a kind.
Thank you Craig Stevens. I love the show Peter Gunn. RIP Alexis.
Such a great person was Craig Stevens, I loved watching all of the “Peter Gunn” series, how he came over as a true gentleman and had a personality like Cary Grant and in a certain light he had a look about Cary too. I was certainly born to late to see Peter Gunn in the pictures, I liked the whole era of black and white series. If I could go back into time, I’d like to see these in real life, thank you Craig Stevens for your wonderful work.
During his days as Peter Gunn, he spoke and looked a lot like Cary Grant, from certain angles. So cool he was.
Craig is much better looking
Legend has it that Blake Edwards styled Peter Gunn's character after Cary Grant. Their speaking manner is very similar.
Craig Stevens was one of the Coolest actors ever.
I love hearing Craig talk and relate anecdotes from his life! Unfortunate that the interviewer liked his own voice better.
Skip E Lowe reminds me of Jiminy Glick
@@featurebroadcast297 Martin Short based the character on Lowe.
vintageguy87 Didn't bother me. I was grateful he had the interview and that he created the series.
Skip E Low was the inspiration for Jiminy Glick
Amazed that people thought well of Peter Gunn 28 years after the show. I ponder what he would think of fans 60 years after the show.
A real class act. I finally got to see the Gunn movie and now having seen the entire experience of the character (shows and movie) I can't imagine anyone doing it any better. Completely nailed it.
I cannot believe that Craig Stevens, nor his wife Alexis Smith, STILL do not have stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. A genuine disgrace!
Almost anyone can have a star on the Walk of Fame if one pays for it.
I'm just now getting to be a Peter Gunn fan. I'm 75, and I love the show.
Lola Albright didn't hurt the cast lineup.
Charming interview. Bright guy. Indelible as Peter Gunn. I loved the scenes between Gunn and Lt. Jacoby (Herschel Bernardi). Those scenes were beautifully written and played. Stevens worked again with Blake Edwards in "S.O.B." I'm thinking Stevens would have been 75 in 1993, the year of the interview. Still very sharp.
Watching old “Peter Gunns” and his smoothness, style, and calm unsurpassed.
Peter Gunn show was fantastic. He was so handsome, suave, debonair. I'm in awe watching the reruns. I like Lola Albright singing How High The Moon with Shorty Rogers in the band. Handsome Craig and beautiful Lola Albright. They were so cool. The timing, the music, the Peter Gunn shows were wonderful with the terrific West Coast Jazz. Thank you so much.
Watching reruns and I'm hooked. Can't 🛑 Stop looking at the talented, tall dark and handsome Craig Stevens♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Lovely interview.Thanks for sharing.
Very touching bittersweet interview.
This channel is a daily habit now. Thank you for the uploads.
Thanks!
He was 77 years old in this interview, but looked more like 57. Recently I've been watching his TV Series ' Man of the World' from 1962. He was excellent as the globetrotting Photo journalist Mike Straight. He made that series right after Peter Gunn.
Binge-watching Peter Gunn right now. Love Edie too. Great show.
What a CLASS act Peter Gunn and Craig Stevens will always be, Thanks for putting this up :-)
I used to watch this show when I was a kid, Peter Gunn theme music was done by Henry Mancini & Lola Albright used to sing on that show, she was a very pretty woman back in the 1950's & Early 1960's she died back in 2017 at the age of 92 yrs old R.I.P. GREG STEVEN'S & MISS LOLA ALBRIGHT GOD BLESS YOUR SOULS.
Even in black and white. Had fist fights in his suit without a tear.
I remember Craig Stevens as a nipper in Man Of The World as Michael Straight a cracking series i am 63 now i have order'd the DVD set from amazon.
watching episodes of Peter Gunn this evening. great show and love lola
Craig Steven was and is a total class act. Still watching Peter Gunn today. I was indirectly first made aware of Peter Gunn (the character) via Commodore 64 computer game (music) called Spy Hunter. Then in high school, we found the MTV music video (Duane Eddy version) by "The Art of Noise" Peter Gunn (outstanding updated sound of the original score) and then many years later(about 1 year ago), found the Peter Gunn TV series on Amazon Prime. Just for Fun Here's the MTV video with the Perter Gunn theme (and C64 game music): ruclips.net/video/tK-vUY6erQU/видео.html

I really like this guy and his work, particularly Peter Gunn, beyond the obvious reason...lol
The interviewer here seems like he would have fit in as one of the characters Peter Gunn would slip a $10 or $20 bill to, in order to get information from, in pretty much every episode.
He?
Peter Gunn is great film noir type series and lately METV added it on late Sunday nights .
So irritating this guy keeps interrupting his guests...what a shame.
Maybe a few pounds heavier, but Stevens was still looking good in his 70's.
Peter Gunn: The only private eye that got beat up more than him was Mannix. LOL
I watched both shows, Mannix got hurt doing his stunts and fights and those were some pretty rough fight scenes in Peter Gunn too.
The inspiration for Jiminy Glick.
That is true
Skip is THE most annoying interviewer . . . I can barely tolerate him when I really like the interviewee. Love to hear of a marriage like Craig's and Alexis'. And his Gunn haircut was NOT a butch - it was called an Ivy League. A butch is buzzed like a tennis ball, with maybe a teeny bit in front that got butch waxed.
Im 62 and actually new to " P.G. ". What a great show! It reminds me of dick powell.
Skip E Lowe is lecherous!
A very good show. All episodes were at night only. ??
Craig and Leslie Nielsen should have been brothers !
Oh wow! Now I know where "Jiminy Glick" came from!
See You At Mothers !!!
The interviewer makes constant interruptions with non sequiturs
Would be good if skip would shut up for a second and let him talk!
Could you tell me which Murder She Wrote episode he was in?
"Powder Keg" from season 2
Had a very Clark gable attitude and screen presence...
Antony Andre' / renaissance artist and artisan Both in "Gone With The Wind"
He needs a crossover with perry mason
Stevens was Mr Cool but Skip makes me cringe every interview.
the movie 'gunn' sucked I remember the hype about it's premire back in the 60's
Skip, a lesson in how not to be a host.
True! Skip needs to be the one with the ego, not Craig Stevens.
B
Can’t stand Skip
