      Thanks David much appreciated.
      I got the tubing from Amazon at the following link.

      I also got the rubber plugs from them at this link.

    Great video Terry! I was astounded to hear that you could get extra long drill bits that fit the requirement local and cheap. I'm still in the testing phase with the shot tube you sent and am about to wrap things up and get your fabulous shot tube back to you. I did confirm the mag capacity at 65 and it seems that there is not a significant difference between the velocity results with a full stick versus 1/2 stick versus 1/4 stick. It was installed on Cherry Baby, one of my remuda guns, for the last crazy range shoot and was the Belle of the Ball for the shooters. Everyone commented on how nice it was to have a gun that hit what you pointed it at. Keep making the vids and doin' the mods!

    Was wondering if a long plug with a seal on the end to be positioned on top of five BB's would add a few FPS by reducing the compressible air space, but since full vs empty sticks don't make much difference I doubt it would have any meaningful effect. Thanks for sharing your modifications.

    • @Builder-of-Kool-Stuff
      @Builder-of-Kool-Stuff  Год назад +1

      The more BB's the shorter the plug, but as you shot the BB's the open space gets greater and the plug would have to expand and still seal? (not easy)
      I do know if you make it a single shot (eliminate fill tube) you will gain a bunch of FPS, but then it's not a repeater,......... but it would be a killer single shot.
      Theirs a big trade off for the repeater due to air pressure loss, using this method (I feel) is a step forward in sealing these guns and still keeping the repeater function. The use of a carbon fiber shot tube will also increase FPS.
      I was thinking of some kind of door, flap, one way valve type setup incorporated into the BB fill tube ?
      But I haven't come up with anything yet.
      So don't be shy, if you have ideas lets hear em!
      Hope this helps?

    Looks like a winner ! Good job !
    Do you have specs. on the brass tube, and does it go all the way through the end cap, or is it captive inside ?
    I’m definitely going to try this, but I’m thinkin’ E-6000 instead of J.B. (nothing against J.B., I use lots of it !), but I’ve had really good results with the other resealing Buck/Ryder tubes, and if I ever have to take it apart again….

      Thanks Rex
      I haven't heard of the E-6000, I used the JB Weld that comes in a log role where ya cut off a little and kneed it all together.
      I use it because it doesn't run or drip and stays where ya put it.
      Then I make a well out of masking tape where the tubes enter the abutment and fill with a slow set epoxy.
      After that sets I paint another coat of slow set epoxy onto the exterior and let it set.
      Be sure to tape the abutment threads well !
      I got the tubing from Amazon, I'll have to find the link for ya.

    Hmmmm I wonder if Amazon has 5/16 brass tube 🤔, I would use it for making a ramrod and I’d insert aluminum on the inside to make it solid and light, , I’d also like to get a set of them long drill bits , it’s interesting to see your modifications

    I'm a little late to the party TC, but I love the improvements. I'll have to check out those drill bits. BTW, your video is not poor quality. At least not compared to mine! 😂 lol

      Thank you for the kind words, but I think you win the award for best videos.
      I also made two shot tubes for 1938B Red Rider that I had the same mods. that should work about the same as this does, I didn't have a gun to put one in though, so I sent them to Mark @ colbalt327 and I think he may have sent one to Shane at Restomod, I never heard how/if they worked though?
      Thanks again!

    Thanks Terry,
    E-6000 is an adhesive that comes in a tube (available @Wally-World, paint dept.)
    It goes on thick, not runny, and when it cures it’s like the gum they use to put labels on cans and
    bottles. It holds up well, but you can get it apart if needed…I’ve actually destroyed stuff I stuck together w/J.B. while trying to get it apart !

      I think I'll stick with the epoxy, the main reason is that it cures very hard.
      Remember your going to be screwing his into a solid mounted nut, (AKA abutment) and I don't want it to twist out of shape or bend in any way. I really think that ridged is better in this case.
      I think the epoxy is more stable? I may be wrong though as I haven't used your product?
      Terry

  • @rexwysocki8432
    @rexwysocki8432 Год назад

    Terry,
    Ok, I get it now…had to wait ‘till I got home to look at one.
    Roll pin @ muzzle doesn’t get reused, so yeah, it will need to be pretty rigid…so J.B. it will be !

    • @Builder-of-Kool-Stuff
      @Builder-of-Kool-Stuff  Год назад

      I would drill through the muzzle for the fill tube and let the brass tubing stick out a small amount then pour the muzzle with epoxy.
      You may ask Shane if he has had any issues in respect to this as the muzzle on the test ST is just pressed into place?

    I think I'll leave my original 1960sish model as is, and use the pellet gun when I want more horsepower.
    I'd probably screw this up anyway.

      I agree it's not for everyone and if your not comfortable doing this mod by all means don't as you may mess up what you have?
      You could always buy another model 25 shot tube and modify it, if you wanted to try this and not mess up the OE part?
      Anyway thanks for looking at the video !

      Thank you for viewing my video much appreciated:
      Modifying these guns can be very rewarding for some people and for some not so much.
      Most that have done this modification witch is " very easy" to do " were very happy with the results, it not only makes the loading of the shot tube much easier and quicker it also improves the FPS considerably and finding FPS is not a minimal factor nor is it easy to obtain . (I'm all ears if you have an easier way?)
