I heard a story, it was Arturo Fuente who first designed the figurado back in the day for Ernest Hemingway while they were both deep sea fishing for gargantuan sailfish off the coast of South America. Story went, while fishing, Ernest was getting frustrated trying to light his cigar on a windy day out at sea and burning through a lot of matches. Frustrated, he turns to Arturo and essentially asks if he can make a cigar that he can easily light with a match - the figurado was born. Another GREAT vid Anthony - tku.
Usually figurados are made by the more experienced rollers, so you can expect a high quality cigar. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹...always on point Mazz 👍
Gotta say I’ve never had a bad quality Fuente. Always smooth, always consistent, and a ton of good mild all the way to strong cigars to fit any palette.
Anthony, I have to admit that I rather prefer the Padron 80 year over the 1964 Anniversary. A far better smoke and smoothness when I need to forget about the day. Now LFD is my GOTO brand. Between the Airbender and the Capitulo. I'm in heaven smoking either one of these figurado's. Those Bulls sitting in the box on the shelve looked tasty !!
Completely agree about the Padron 80th. Thai is my favorite cigar. But now you have me very interested in the LTD brand. I’ll be trying the particular cigars you talked about.
I'm a brand new smoker when it comes to cigars and Fuentes have been a go to for me when looking for a nice smoke. I love experimenting with their cigars
I have to agree with A.F. for sure it makes a lot of different Figurados, my favourite is Anejo No.77 Shark. My first Figurado was Montecristo No.2 have some fond memories with this cigar, even served as a celebration cigar for me. Happy to see Ashton VSG Enchantment up there in the list. I have smoked a lot of chisels, there is a German Brand called Dalay which makes a shade and a maduro chisel using DR tobacco and is very affordable, maduro Chisel used to be a daily morning smoke for a while I have tried various cuts on it and settled down with pinching method on this, also a punch cut on the upper chisel side is worth the try if someone wants a more cooler smoke also it hits the mouth roof first by this method.
Great video. Greater topic! I really love figurado cigars. There's just something old skool about the style and shape that I like. At the moment I have a few Hemingway short story, Hamlet Salomon and a single Davidoff aniversario perfecto in the humidor. I did have a box of Oliva V Melanio, held onto them as long as I could...got me through covid lockdown tho 🤷♂️
My wife and I just smoked the Alec Bradley Magic Toast from your recommendation. Dang. Wife and I have added it to our pile in the humidor. I like the leather notes. Remind me of my baseball days when I would chew on the leather of my ball glove waiting for a ball hit to me. Great cigar
Good List, lots of new stuff for me to try. I love the Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado 6x60. The 2023 just didn't hit me right. Still have 4 more to go after the sit in the humidor for a while.
Hi Anthony. As always my favorite cigar channel by far .... Every time you review the cigar you talk about the flavors. Not sure if there is a video on that but where are these flavors in cigar tobacco coming from. What makes the leaves taste different. Thank you - Thomas,
Great video! I love the figurado shape and all of these are works of art! Hopefully one day I can find that BBMF and partake! Thanks for sharing Anthony! Hope all is well! God Bless!
Perfect timing for this video. Bought my first Arturo Fuente Hemingway signature and was questioning what the proper way to light it is since it has that small nub at the foot. Thank you
In a previous video, you stressed the importance of asking questions. So, I'm going to ask a question that probably makes you sick to even think about, but I have seen countless people buy cigars, and never light them. Instead, they kind of just leave it in their mouth, and eventually spit, like the cigar was smokeless tobacco (dip, not loose leaf Levi Garrett stuff). My question is: Why do people do this? They even carry a spitter with them, but if I want dip, I get dip. Why do people buy cigars if they are just going to chew on it?
Absolutely, never hold back questions! There's a small number of people who enjoy chewing on their cigars rather than smoking them, simple as that. Needless to say, it's not something we recommend 😂
Wow you nailed that. The Bull, Anejo, 80th and Ashton Esg are all in my top 10. The VSG is also amazing. But though not a figurative, I prefer the Sorcerer. You also look how we all want to look when we smoke. Well done.
Figurado in general is any cigar which is not uniform/Straight from head to foot. Example: Perfecto, Torpedo, diadema, pyramid... Perfecto falls in the category of Figurado as it is tapered on each side. The only difference in that figurado is a general Category to label any cigar that is not uniform/straight, Perfecto is an Actual shape name under the category of Figurado. What is not a figurado? Robusto, Corona, Toro, Churchill, Double Corona, Gordo.... all of this has a uniform ring gauge from head to foot so they are not a figurado. I hope this helps.
Holt's always comes through with solid recommendations. I've not had the pleasure of trying most of the ones on the list but the La Aroma De Cuba Pasión is a wonderful cigar. I can't wait to try some of the others on the list.
These are Rib eye steaks of Cigars. Some are topped with, Hollindaise. 1926 is a pungent bomb. Not for a novice; definitely a smoke to be seated, and pair with a beverage. VSG Enchantment has been added to my try next list. A more opulent, Short Story Maduro; probably. Very good selection, and recommendations. Some mentioned here im yet to try.
Ill be honest, anything other than a straight cigar I pass on if I can. Why? Ive had more draw issues with perfectos, Figuratos etc. even torpedoes. Plus those special roles add 20% to the price of the exact same width and length of the same cigar in just a traditional straight capped style. They just aren’t worth the extra cost and can add smoking frustration. Also you burn away more of the actual length of the cigar before it actually gets to it true profile. Feunte is the only one Ive had very little issues with and Ill openly praise. The ESG is one of my absolute favorites however I don’t have the wallet to make it my monthly stick. It a few times a year stick. Feunte is goat of cigars in general in my opinion. Padron is a close second.
Great video and of course selection but curious as to your thoughts on how the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Salomőn would compare/rate in this lineup? I’m a big fan of their cigars and would love if you guys would do a review on their products. Thanks
I hate sumatra tabacco it is terrible and nasty the cheapst on the market they need to stop using it, that tabacco from india is the worst thng that they could put into a cigar🤮🤮🤮
I learned so much watching Holt's cigars some time i use technical words at the store I buy my cigar's and my cigarrist-assistance/pro have no clue what I'm talking about....
It tells me a lot when the people working at cigar store have no clue what I'm talking about I wish Holt's cigars expand franchise @ Allentown Pennsylvania will welcome you

Another GREAT vid Anthony - tku.
Is that a real story?? Wow
@@greghoskins9237 Yes, Lido from LFD told me that personally.
Always a great day when Anthony is back in front of the cam. Its soo relaxing!

Definitely can’t go wrong there!
Oliva v melanio figurado my favourite cigar of all time!

Great video! I need to get a V cutter thanks for the tips

Never got the leather taste from that cigar. Kind of more of a sweeter cigar.
Good List, lots of new stuff for me to try. I love the Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado 6x60. The 2023 just didn't hit me right. Still have 4 more to go after the sit in the humidor for a while.
I love the Hemingway shapes from AF. ❤
One of the best and burn slow and mild smooth body
No need to explain, Fuente. Great videos.
Very nice video and what a great and enjoyable review!
Great presentation. You put things differently than I have heard before. I am always learning more about Cigars. Thanks
Fuente short story, Oliva V melanio perfecto...two favourites
Wow. I really really enjoyed this video!!! Such beautiful cigars that I can’t wait to try!!! Definitely going on my list!! Cheers!
Perdomo makes a nice figurado also.

Ooooh! I got in early on a new Holt's video. It's going to be a good day.
Awesome list

Awesome! Let us know what you think of the cigar after you fire it up!
SeñorMazz is a living Cigar
encyclopedia
These are all great sticks mazz but i just want to put it out there that the figurado from AJ’s Dorado line is also an amazing stick
great addition to the list 👊
Wow what a beauty 😩
Being fairly new into cigars, I enjoy your videos. I’m really drawn to unusual shapes and looks. Torpedoes, Perfectos and Barber Poles.
Glad you enjoy the content 👊🔥

the 80th padron !

Love these videos, Anthony is a gem.
Padron 80th is by far the best figurado on the market
You explained the Figurado and Perfecto differences well, I still don't know what the hell the difference is though 🤣

So shape not ring gauge
Omg!! Did the big homie MAZZ just say throw shade???? Brother you are a legend!!!!
😂
Ive got to try those BBMF , and I'm waiting for Holts to put out a great sale price on the VSG...I'm out and need a couple boxes. Another fine video !
This list is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Killer list

It would fit perfectly! We've reviewed the Alma Fuerte before, you can look up our video if you're interested 👊
Great vid! 👍🏼
Excellent pics Mazz. No Habanos on your list? Monte#2 & Belicoso Finos gotta be there.
Except that you can't buy Habanos at Holt's.
More unique cigar content from the General
I have 3 of these cigars in my humidor 😊
Is it safe to say Anthony's favorite line of cigars are Ashtons?
Love the chisel
Nice
I got a question, i recently been noticing my cigars have been taking way longer to finish abt 2 hours for a toro 6x52. What’s the reason to this?
I would say u r just taking your time and being at ease while smoking. Truly enjoying them sticks. Ive had toros last that long as well.
Everyone has their own pace, don't overthink it and enjoy your experience 👍
Sell a sample pack of your recommendations. Those will fly out the door!
Wanted to jump on those Fuente Sharks, but sadly out of stock.
Ayyyyy
Good luck finding the Anejo Shark
I can barely say figurado. I don’t even attempt to say the names.😁
My Figurado is cuban Partagas Salomones.
How many cigars do you smoke in a day?
Anyone know where to get the bbmf
Excpected any Davidoff black
Yessssssirrr🫡💯🫡💯🫡💯🫡
Fuente factory.......
I hate sumatra tabacco it is terrible and nasty the cheapst on the market they need to stop using it, that tabacco from india is the worst thng that they could put into a cigar🤮🤮🤮
The tobacco isn’t from India & it’s not “cheap”. It’s Sumatra seed grown in Ecuador.
Are you dense?
