@Brandon I believe you have to by the second modules all separately. I have not seen a complete set on their second round. It's too bad though they discontinued the Demora, Torcido, Scooper, and Bitrazer. I have all those dont plan to seperate ever as they will increase in value as time goes on. Roland is well known for making great gear. If it does not hit the market like they want its discontinued, and after market prices go sky high. I think Roland did a test run with all the hardware to see how it was recieved like the Boutiques Aira etc. I thi k they realized there are those who like having the gear and then those who would rather keep using their DAWs and use the Roland Cloud. The Roland Cloud is a cash cow for them.
Really thinking of letting go of my SH-101 for a little system of 510 / 540 / 555. The rest of the Roland case will be a fixed filter bank for my Moog Matriarch, and a 2HP Trim.
Thanks for this, just a question i hav`nt got the mixer & have the complete 500 system and going to use a tr8s to trigger it instead but am having trouble getting started up, have the trigger out buttons both pressed and connected into the sync in on say 512 but cant get any sound?! sorry im new to this and modulators so clueless and just needing to get started:) thanks again Paul
MarkoDeLaVoota I’d love “phase 3” of these modules to include a sequencer, spring reverb, fixed filter bank, and maybe another utility style module that handles midi-cv. A dedicated keyboard to the 500 series line would be cool too
Why are there 2 boxes when you only get 1 in the 500 (the full one that contains 5 smaller units) seeing as most people don't have another 2k to give to Roland, plus the 1st $2,000, maybe show it with stuff we already have or can easily get? Curious to know how it "plays with bother brands," too. Roland makes some great-sounding stuff. If you take care of it, it'll last you easily a few decades without problems. I have V-drums and XP-SERIES synths that have been totally reliable the whole time. Electronically, the interior isn't impressive at all. Pretty much slapped together as I hear it. But it works, so the method is hard to argue with. Roland products go from sounding "newest of the new," to "classic." They never sound cheap or dated.
there are 2 distinct different systems you are being deceived as to what you get for your money He is cross connecting 2 systems, an old version and the new one. caveat pre emptor
I’m beginning to be sold on this entire system. I like how everything is doubled. Makes getting into modular nice!
I have the full system 500 and just love it.

Very thorough - thank you!
Andy does a great demo, really clear with his explanations.
Thank you for that very thorough demo. I learned a lot from it.
Great demo Andy.
Cool! All around nice demo.
The Sound at 2:51 when octave shifting isn't that problematic?
Great video, lots of helpful information 👌
Sounds very Rolandy, in a great way 😎

Wanted to love the 531 mixer but to have those mutes click and cause noise sucks wish they would change that

Take a shot every time the guy says "which is amazing" :D
Why does it beep everytime you shift octave?
Roland !
make dedicated original sequencer please !

If only intellijel made a black edition metropolis and Atlantis 🙂
Hmmm he has just confirmed at 2:50 that there is a beep when changing octaves. Very annoying glitch for an otherwise great filter :-(
That's the dual VCO module, not the filter. And yeah, that blip is really annoying. They still haven't fixed that?!
