Based on your previous videos I've watched, I know to give this a thumbs up straight away! Yep, it was worth it for that bass Arp patch at 7.10 and at 7.35 alone!
I have the 512 and 521 and really appreciate your pointers on these videos. Amazing modules and the more I learn about how to use them the more I love them. I'm surprised at the negative comments on these modules. The Roland modules are some of my favorites. Also the Synthesis Tech. I have the E352 and E440 and they are great.
Those are all awesome modules, it's easy to be cynical with so much good stuff out there now. From the limited chat I've seen, complaints about the Roland modules are more about the features for the price, they are quite primitive by modern standards. I adore that Roland filter though, as you can tell from the title.
Great demo video! I got this filter for sale for 200 euro's! It sounds very good and definitely has that roland vintage sound. The knob placement could have been done a bit different though.
Just getting started with modular and happily stumbled onto your channel. Amazing stuff! Could you explain your set up you are using in this demo? Would it be a good place to cut my modular teeth?
Great for making Trance. And I'm not speaking only about the Filter only but that whole Modular Synth. Wonderful sounds!!! I was amazed by the stereo filters and how wide they sound. Very unexpected for me...
Yeah it's the real deal. One thing I'll say about it though, I personally found the tuning instability of the oscillators I had to be very frustrating, but I only ever had the Roland analog oscillators, which may be unusual in this regard, I don't know. The reason it sounds so wide by the way, I'm running different oscillators into the Left and Right filters. So the two channels are completely independent. If I were running the same oscillator signal into both Left and Right it wouldn't sound nearly as wide. That's one reason I choose the Roland modules, each modules has 2 of everything.
I wouldn't know about the Corgasmatron, but the Polaris I had for a little while. I much prefer the basic sound of the Roland, although the Polaris is more versatile.
I have one suggestion, use Ableton Live's new instrument plug-in to calibrate it, OR use expert sleepers plug-in to do the same. But even then I found it would drift all the time!
i dunno... the 521 sounds kind of spitty, almost digital fizzy. i can see 303 filter sweep loving techno heads liking this one, but not me. the vocal formants sounded pretty cool though. this sounds a lot like a Synth Tech E440 VCF to me
Wooohaa... the stereopatch at 7.20-ish is absolutely gorgeous. Pure love , pure warmth ......splendid width 💚

Allways Love to come back to this video, great modules, great sounds, great teacher! 👌🏽
What reverb and delay did you use on the outro?
I use Native Instruments Replica a lot for delay/reverb combo as it has diffuse delays
@@AiynZahevSounds Thanks!

sounds beautiful..i agree with the wobbly sliders but the sound more then makes up for it
Yep, I agree
Goosebumps.
👍🏼 nice! Reminds me a bit of the Intellijel Atlantis multimode VCF. It has that Roland-ish sound and does killer acid-style stuff.

Fantastic video
some very nice patches. sound of the sys500 is mint
100% agreed!

Dude can you do a tutorial about your inverted hand technique? :D
Sorry, we gotta keep some secrets :(
Do you still like so much this filter and system? Thinking about getting the system :)

GREAT DEMO TYTYTYTYTY ;)
Thank you!
so u made another video and it became ur fave eh ..? wow
How do u think it compares w. Polaris or Corgasmatron2+expander..?
I wouldn't know about the Corgasmatron, but the Polaris I had for a little while. I much prefer the basic sound of the Roland, although the Polaris is more versatile.
can i use the VCF to modulate an audo in ableton live?
Is it the same filter as the 510?
Hey do u have any suggestions getting the Roland 512 to track better?
I have one suggestion, use Ableton Live's new instrument plug-in to calibrate it, OR use expert sleepers plug-in to do the same. But even then I found it would drift all the time!
do you know if its a 4 pole filter ?
I actually don't know
Come on Sammy, this can't be your favourite filter...lol
Why can’t Roland make anything like THIS anymore?
They did; you can buy this now. Maybe stop worrying about ungaying people and keep up.

To expensive for a VCF
It’s actually two VCF’s
