Building a Spider Web Themed Gate

  • So I’ve decided to join the electric car club, but the place I wanted to charge my car didn’t have enough room to fit it on the slab. So I spent a couple of weeks building a new gate, with the help of my girlfriend (who is a structural engineer) designing the foundations required.
I know it’s not the most exciting project ever, but I’m very proud of our work as this is probably the most technically accurate project I’ve ever built.
    Hope you enjoy!

Those welds will hold up fine. As you know a grinder and paint. Loved the dogs as well.

I think I need more than a grinder and paint to hide my horrible welding. 😂
      Thanks!

That's great how the gate is perfectly designed to lock your neighbours into their garden when you open it. Also, like the Pure Pwnage T-shirt. I too like to wear tshirts that are over 15 years old, the extra holes just add to the comfort levels 😄

    • @PJTForging

I find it kinda depressing that Pure Pwnage has become kinda retro now. I have no idea how modern gamers speak besides hurling abuse at each other. 😅

Good looking gate, and a good use of space!
If a weld holds, it's not bad. It might not be good looking, but it's not bad.

Love the gate gave me a good few tips for doing my own gate. Did you use 50 mm by 50 mm box steel for the two gates
Keep up the great work love to see when you post a new video

So the two side of the gate nearest the hinges were 50x50x5 square tube. The rest of the frame was 30x30x3.
      Glad it's inspired you. :)

Still got it, still working fine... A very simple reason why I used the stick.
It's smaller, lighter, and easier to move around/use outside of the workshop. There was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, so much easier that hauling the ROHR around. :)

Love your vids. Cant work out why you don’t have more views. The only thing I disagree with is an electric car. Yuk!. Lol. In my opinion, electric vehicles are next vehicle scandal waiting to happen, but that’s just my opinion, so counts for nothing, lol.

I must admit to being VERY sceptical of elec. cars too at first, but a few other people from my work started going that way and my lease was up for renewal. I took a few different ones out for a test drive, and they're just absolutely brilliant. It's like driving a massive go-cart that is full of toys! Plus I got my timing right with the price of fuel skyrocketing thanks to Putin being Putin. 😅

Lithium mined in S America, shipped to China for refining. Battery shipped to wherever the car was made, car shipped to Britain, yea, really environmentally friendly. My gas guzzler was made 35 miles down the road in Solihull, 15 years ago. Lol. Hasn’t once needed a new battery pack at £20k😜
Only pulling your leg really, and hope my stupid comments help you with the algorithm.

@@mrgaz955 I'm not doing it to be eco friendly really. 😅
Just figured it's the way we're all going to have to go at some point, and honestly... they're just really fun to drive! Plus I love when the weather is cold/hot and I can turn the heating/AC on from my phone before I got out to my car... No more window scraping. 😂
Don't worry, I'm not trying to convert. But genuinely, so far I haven't found anything I dislike. 😁
Plus I give the car back after 3 years, so the battery pack won't be my problem. 😂😂😂
