  • Today I'm showing you guys how to put HTV (heat transfer vinyl) on mugs with a mug press! & Just in case you don't have a Cricut mug press, I'm going to show you how to apply HTV with just a heat gun!! These mugs came out so cute! I think I'll definitely be making more of these for some gifts because they were so easy and fun to do!

Hi, just FYI on your old heat press, you can take your control panel off to use with your cup press and plate press, and you don't have to pull out the entire press and base every time. Only for the hat press (because it has to be mounted) and flat press.

Thanks for a great video, it was super east to follow along and straight to the point! I appreciate it a lot 😊 Would this work well on an easypress mini ? And should I work the entire vinyl area or press one letter at a time? Also I was thinking of sealing just the vinyl letters with polyurethane using a brush, rather than spraying the whole cup incase it has an incompatible paint or is already sealed etc, what are your thoughts? Thank you 🙏

    • @CreativelyErica

Thanks for sharing. I feel like Cricut says no to everything fun solely so they don't have to follow through with warranties later on. Someone once told me that bedazzling the lid on my cricut made the warranty invalid even though the jewels don't do anything to the machine and I could even scrape them off if I needed to. I have seen someone use their mugpress (I think on tiktok) for this though and it did work out great. But if you need to use the warranty then obviously do whatever cricut recommends.

I haven't tried it personally yet with HTV (just regular permanent adhesive over baked acrylic paint pour) but I've had success with ModPodge Dishwasher Safe sealant! Put about 5 layers over it, let it sit and cure for the 28 day cure time, and it's still holding up great with both handwashing and dishwashing (aside from a paint bubble on the bottom that was from the paint)
