@b717 Jerry, I think it's three things: 1) The fastest pinky-to-index finger left hand I've even encountered. 2) Intricate, articulate (sometimes VERY fast) phrasing 3) Odd/complex/asymmetrical rhythmic beat subdivision. It's one thing to plow through an arpeggio or scale like Yngwie, and quite another to make your guitar sound like it's pissed-off, angry and on fire while you throw it down the steps like GL does. Thanks, and hope all's well, George
@hawg427 That is a VERY insightful comment. It is quite hard to reproduce something like this. More importantly, it heightens one's appreciation of the creativity and spontanaity of the original artist. Being a longtime GL fan, I've really tried to get way down into the weeds with these things to get some insight into what makes his phrasing so fluid, original and exciting. Thank you, George
You nailed it!!! And you are 100% correct... the lick at 0:20 is absolute insanity... one of the fastest and most difficult licks I've ever come across. But it sounds SO DAMN GOOD!
It's disappointing how many thumbs up this has gotten or even the views it just goes to show about today's youth and guitar playing... There's just not enough out there there needs to be more looking for this. I hope this video is in a time capsule 300 years from now so the kids from the future playing kazoos can say our ancestors totally rocked.
I am not sure I have ever seen anyone do as great a job duplicating Lynch (as well as Malmsteen) as you George. So, so impressive. I hope whoever your significant other is recognizes how talented you are, this stuff you play is far from easy. 1000's of hours of practice I am sure.
Seen this video plenty of times and wish i can upvote it 1,000,000k times lol Such a tough and tasty solo and you absolutely nail it!!!! Youre a trmemendous player!!
@@rawbarber9012 Thank you! I am humbled to read your kind note. That one was some SERIOUS work! The left hand demands are like few things I’ve come up against. It was also a pleasure reverse engineering it. I really appreciate your viewership and engagement. Take care and catcha soon! 🤘🏻😎💀🎸 G
@@gbalulis lol i feel ya i learned alot of lynch shit back in the early 90's and every time i started mt scary i was like nope need a swig and smoke... i had that tone ya have very nice i might add but it just felt like i was going live every time and i wasn't even video myself then lol.. did the same thing early guitar learning bark at the gd moon... so easy but i wanted to play it right.. and watching jakes newest videos on what people got wrong i got them all right lol... fiddles 4eva! 🤘
George Lynch was the creator and I was the imitator in this case. You are very kind. I still have those guitars. They are great. Keep doing what you do. You are a great player.
Wow man. Your tone is so spot on and you just kill it. Lynch is my favorite player ever and you mimic him perfectly. You play in a band or anything or just jam on your own ?
Great job on the solo but I'm so jealous....that is the guitar I've always wanted but by the time I could afford it they jacked up the price to an insane level. Crazy when that is double the price of a Govan Charvel or Suhr.
Thank you. Believe it or not, that particular incarnation of the guitar was never a production model. Craig Rundels, Chris Woods, Warmoth, Pat Wilkins, George Lynch and a motorcycle shop in Austin, Tx combined to make that one happen. Craig and George later made the “official” OG Bones run - which, indeed, was a pretty penny. Thanks for reaching out. G 🙂🎸
Fantastic playing man. We have to remember something when we try to play a riff a great guitarist wrote. They wrote it :-) So of course it's going to look easy for them, until alzheimers kicks in. LOL Then they can't remember where their guitar is. Great playing.
Is that a Christopher Woods "J. Frog"? If so, how do you like it and which version is it? I had one for awhile that Ed Roman made me. Played pretty well but looked like shit. I've been thinking of getting one from Chris.
Jon Ten-Z Hi Jon. This guitar’s body is the CWG CNC cut. Craig Rundels did all the detail carving and painted it. It is impeccable in every way. Chris and Craig are both good friends of mine. Grateful for their expertise. Hope this helps. G
@@gbalulis Cool, thanks for the info. I'll get in touch with Chris once I am a little closer to being ready to order one. His website lists three different body versions so I just want to make sure I understand the differences and pick the right one. Thanks again!!

One of many great phrased solos by GL ..great nob
Thank you, Michael.
🙂🎸
GL’s phrasing is crazy difficult to emulate. His left hand hammer on speed is insane. You always know it’s George.
Great cover! Most impressive
You are 100% correct. Almost impossible to keep up with at times.
Sorry for the terribly slow response.
Thanks!

0:20 - heavenly!
Thanks! That was pure hell to get on camera. 😉
Over 20 years since the last (and unfortunately only) time we jammed, before we went to see Kiss on 'Hot In The Shade'... you are still a BAD man.
One of my favorite Lynch solos and you nailed it! Rock on, brother...
Great job solo was the best..one of the best songs.back for the attack great album.
OUTSTANDING! This is one of my favorite Lynch solos but it does not get a lot of love......you NAILED it man.......sounds amazing.........kudos!

Yea totally correct, I think George is truly a natural talent and so unique, the reason for his longevity.
Great job! Very tough style to nail.
Truly appreciate those kind words.
That’s the fastest I have ever tried to command my left hand to move.

Thanks, David. It has been a while, hasn’t it? 🙂🤘🏻🎸
Dude, kudos! One of the best covers of George I've ever heard in terms of accuracy, feel & tone. You hammered that nail!
Damn what a kick ass job you did on this! 🤘🤘

So....what the hell was that?!? That solo was absolutely spot on! Wow!! Thanks for sharing this. Wow!! Just awesome work!!
That was amazing man, you seem to be the only one on youtube that really nails G.L. , if anyone deserves that axe is you!
Agreed. He hits all the small details that are incredibly difficult and does it perfectly. Fuck ya!

Thank you, Stephen. I really appreciate your note.
I am lucky to own that guitar.

Absolutely amazing job on this! After seeing it in action this might be my new favorite Lynch solo, wicked stuff!!
Thanks so much! The left hand is brutal beyond compare in this one.
George.. there are some extremely great guitarists doing Lynch covers on you tube.. But this is out of the ball park.. You really did nail it amigo!!

Holy Crap ! As a 30 year Lynch fan, I have to say that your's are the best covers that I have EVER heard. Completely floored - seriously.

@@gbalulis wow, I’ve always wondered how to get that harmonic to sound like that at 0:24 , thanks again for your videos!
Solid man I love that dokken album
Thanks!
Hardest left hand solo of his I’ve ever done (although Tooth and Nail required more stamina).
Take care!
🙂👍🏻🎸

you know a guitar solo or even a riff is badass when it gives ya guitar face.. you can't help it.
Getting that accurate in a single, unedited take was an utter grudge match. Surprised I didn’t make every face in the book!
