Paul’s gonna be one of the greats. He reminds me of a River Phoenix or James Dean where he’s solely focused on the craft and has this human quality on screen that draws people in.

I feel like there's a bit more to that story than we're being told.... the way Andrew Scott looks at him and laughs at 1:00. I feel like he knows something we don't lol.
I like to think that Paul Mescal is ‘giving it a go’ with a big scale movie versus an Indie project…and I expect they’ll be critique but as he’s said in interviews, he’s not doing it to follow a certain prescriptive career trajectory but to develop his own heart and mind…and if it speaks to the audience he’s great with that. All of Us Strangers, Normal People have done that. Gladiator isn’t the kind of movie that satisfies me but I still love a blockbuster like Bond, Mission Impossible, and I’ll watch Gladiator to see how he fares. Why not?! 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ
Of course he would be asked for mega block busters, and don't het me wrong, only Paul Mescal would make me watch Gladiator2 but I sincerely hope he will be also making arthouse movies like Aftersun and All of Us Strangers. He is a phenomenal , natural actor where you can see though his eyes what he is feeling and thinking. Exceptional quality.
Denzel Washington is also part of the cast. I'm actually anticipating this film for Denzel.

Am I the only person full of apprehension for Gladiator 2? Gladiator has been my favourite movie for 23 years. I watch it annually, and named my box cat Maximus (when he's naughty, he gets the full-name treatment). We didn't NEED a Gladiator 2, most of Ridley's epics since Gladiator just haven't lived up to the same expectations, and I was sorely disappointed in Napoleon (which I specifically went to watch at the cinema - first cinema trip in 8 years!). I just don't know what to expect, and already wish it wasn't 'Gladiator 2', but just another Roman epic. And yes, I am way too invested in this!
I am also nervous. Really don’t think a sequel was needed…sometimes it’s ok to just have a movie stand on its own!

Frankly I’ve always found GLADIATOR to be awful (both its popularity and its Oscar win for Best Picture still baffle me to this day). If anything, I hope it’s even slightly better than that film, and the only reason I’m anticipating this is Denzel Washington’s presence in the cast.

The story about forgetting his lines during the play is one of my worst nightmares….its why i gave up acting as a teen. The anxiety of memorizing lines for anything, even a commercial, was too much.

literally making a problem out of nothing. paul & andrew are friends and literally always sit shoulder to shoulder in almost every single interview without any space between the two; guess they're just comfortable that way. da'vine is literally a stranger to paul, why should he be all up in her space? if you'd watched the whole interview, then you'd know that when she was talking paul was completely engaged, leaning towards her & looking at her while listening.
OR he's just looking at the host who's asking the questions. Plus he and Andrew are there as a pair, promoting a movie. Naturally, he's going to sit by him.
