I love this car bro! Brings back some good memories. My wife and I are trying to raise money to help rebuild our home after hurricane Florence on a go fund me. I'd appreciate if anyone could spread this around. Thank you bro!

3rd gen gang were ya at??
1986 z-28 swapped 327 auto @16yrs old
1992 25th anniversary RS 5.0 5speed @18yrs old.
The z was my 1st car. I didn't have it long before someone hit me and totalled it, but the wheels and the stance of that thing. wooo doggy!! In 1998 I felt like the luckiest kid!.
I have always loved these body style camaro's.
And this blue one is absolutely sick brother... what a great build. I'd have loved to have this back in my early 20s.
1988 z28 just bought it about 3 weeks ago
Love these cars but these are 4th gen Camaros, 67-69, 70-72, 73-81, 82-92!
John Corbell Wrong
@@jacobgonzalez7797 lmao not wrong! Tell me, were the cars exactly alike from 70-82? Nope sure weren't, 70-72 have different front clips, changed in 73!
Fuck it I like the steering wheel. The 1991 and 92 steering wheel had a air bag. I like the big Chevy logo on the wheel. Great idea.
I personally thought that wheel was ugly, but it’s still a lot better than the original wheel, and after a few videos of seeing it i actually like it now
That steering wheel looks good.
Love watching every video man. Life changing motivation thanks.
i love your car. i think the steering wheel is awesome. i love taking things off other cars and reusing them as upgrades. ever since i saw your video, i’ve been looking for one every time i go to the junkyard.
Nice ride! Sounds good!
Absolutely love 3rd gens. I just picked up a 1987 Firebird and hopefully LS swapping it soon
i love these kind of videos of you talking and driving, it just looks right, i love yoru swap, i have a 92 bird thinking of doing a 5.3 upgrade
That's the coolest thirdgen Camaro I've ever seen.
Love the channel. As an owner of a 90 model myself you definitely have shown the benefits and the fun to be had by doing a swap.
You really know your subject 💪👍😎🎓
I just bought me 1986 z28 today in Houston. Running and driving for $1400. Been sitting for years. But fired right up. It definitely needs some love but I will get it there! I had a 91 back in the day and really have missed it. 3 Gen is the best IMO of course.
Keep at it bro
Beautiful car brother haters can't cramp style
Never been into third gens but man I love this one, been watching a bunch of your videos. Steering wheel looks good too lol
I knew a guy that had a '70 El Camino with that cavalier/Lumina steering wheel and it was awesome
Sweet build. Really like the look you put together.
Looks like you're in Westchester, also cool
my original 5.7 tpi just bit the dust the other day on my 92 z28 daily, its too nice of a car to just let it sit there but I don't have the cash to swap an ls or anything in it. I hope that I can eventually get my setup as good as yours
I love the steering wheel actually it doesn’t look to new ( it would look out of place if it did) and it’s functional. I might have to cop one myself
have a 6.0 LQ4 in my garage just waiting on this deal to go through with an 82 Camaro Berlinetta with a 305. run it til she dies while i prep the 6.0 then do the swap When either the 305 goes or the 6.0 is done
I noticed the steering wheel right away in another video,it’s very fitting for the camaro and I had no idea it was from a cavalier
Nice car, but wish it was a 1988 iroc z.
You can always go gen lV aluminum 5.3 , they are getting cheap especially with the AFM lifters going out on them and you also get the nicer 243 heads . Picked up two engines last month . One complete engine for $700 and another long block for $300 . As for strength these things are super beefy with siamese and thick bores and ofcourse the beefier internals . Keep an eye out for them, it'll help you drop 100lbs of the nose that'll definitely help in the handling department .
I love your car and your work, but with my current family budget situation, I need to go a different way. I have a 92 RS with a T5 (Will swap for a T56 like yours in a near future) and a 305. My route will be a pair of EQ Vortec 305 cylinder heads (Comes with screw-in studs instead of pushed-in ones), an Edelbrock Air-Gap Vortec Intake Manifold, an LT1 Z28 Camshaft, a 454 TBI unit (650 CFM) with Police Package 5.7 injectors, programmable flash ECU and will swap the 10 bolt (Open diff) for a BW 9 bolt. I'm expecting to get at least 375 to 400 HP out of my setup, but if I can reach 350 HP that will do it.
I modified a 4th gen speed engineering dual exhaust kit to fit my 3rd gen it sounds good. It was a pain to get routed from the headers to the x pipe though.
swap to a 1990 horn button its not square looks way nicer and has a red bowtie from a z24
Hey matt my question is about that buffer box that you used to make your speedo work.. I have a the original cable driven speedo but my t5 is a electric style sensor can you point me in the right direction as to finding a buffer box that will work for my situation?
Thanks... love the videos bro keep up the great work!
Hey Matt one I see that you are from NYC one day I have got to meet up to see this thing in person it reminds me of my IROC I wish I still had it Nice car !
I love that steering wheel. Only one I would say is better is the 3 spoke trans am wheel but Idk if you could get a horn button without the t/a logo
💪 💪 💪 ☝
Forgot to mention last time, enjoy your beginning vids "rides through the city" being in a little frozen shit-brindle town myself.
I really like the feel of my cobalt's wheel, your wheel looks good. Do you have to smog that car where you live?
No smog on anything older than 96 over here.
I just bought me a 1988 z28 I need to repaint it idk if I should go to gray or blue I love that blue on it
Jose Diaz it’s unfortunate that so many are that color, but if I get one I’ll paint it that color.
I wonder if you can replace the dash with a modern Camaro dash? I'm thinking bout getting this car n doing a LS swap but interior looking modern is important to me, and I really like the new 2015+ interiors.
Do you mind telling me what kind of exhaust or muffler you have on your car. I own a Z28 IROC-Z, love your car bud 😁
__ ChevyBoy __ I have longtubes going to a single Slp Loudmouth 2. Single outlet, no dual pipes.
LsxMatt thank you, I appreciate it
You said that the CEL makes it feel less modified
I get that same jaded to modded-ness cause I got my car with a rotary swap and havent spent any time under the hood of a stock one really
so it doesnt even feel like it shouldnt be there. ive called it "a little modified" non sarcastically
Hey I noticed the speedometer and tachometer is not working?
Like if you love the caviler wheel!!!😁
Do the Iroc wheel.
What king of diff are those 4.10 gears in? It can't be a stock 7'5' 10 bolt can it?
Can’t find the video, you did on your master cylinder upgrade. I though you did one. What did you do and did you eliminate the proportioning valve?
How much power was it making before blower?
Trying to put a new rear end in my 92 third gen. Any recommendations?!
Dont mind the steering wheel, might get some sort of logo to put on it that changes it a little.
I'm pretty sure the reason I don't like the wheel is knowing it's from a Cavalier. And I'm not a Cavalier hater. In highschool everyone had them and they weren't usually terrible vehicles.
Where u get your lsx badges to replace your stock ones on the side skirts.
the aero wing as gm calls it. is actually a decent story. since gm had just lost the iroc name rights to dodge, the aero wing is a nod back to the 1st gen trans am racing series cars. if you research deep enough, you'll find some of the 1st gen racing packages had a wing very similar to it.
for me. I got a blue 91z manual used in late 93 and loved the look from the first time I drove by the dealers back in 91 or 92 and they had a line of these out front brand new. I do wish we had cell phones with cameras back then. would have made for cool pics to look back on.
john somethin never connected the two and realized the 1st gen trans am wing and the 91/92 wing are almost identical
@@Spenny.T crazy right. I was at a car show one time years ago and there was a 1st gen there and it had the wing. I asked the owner where he got it and he was like it was stock for that year scca package or something. I went and looked in a classic industry parts catalog and it listed it. craziness but cool. I forgot it was a firebird and not the Camaro thou haha
Do you know if it is possible to put a corvette z06 rear end into a third gen?
Did your hood need any modifications in terms of fitment want a cowl style hood and was curious
Matt! I'm looking for some aftermarket seats for my own 1990 'maro, but as a street/strip deal, I'm concerned with weight. Any idea what your corbeaus weigh?
Really not sure, but they’re pretty light. They’re all fiberglass.
Will those Corvette wheels bolt up directly?
Hi Matt what's the clearance between the lsa supercharger and the hood like just wanted to know if I can keep it looking stock with a lsa ? Cheers
Sorry you won’t fit the stock hood with the blower. Even with the 2 inch cowl I had to cut the underside out of the hood, and its still really close. I cts v lid will clear a little better, but it will still hit the stock hood.
Hey there buddy! Did you change your fuel pump for the setup you was running.
I went from a walbro 255 to a 400
👍
The cavalier steering wheel is an upgrade from the original, but that's like saying the 3rd-gen 6cyl camaro engine is an upgrade from the 4cyl. They are still both junk. Haha, sorry man but you should get a nicer (and smaller) steering wheel. It will make a big difference in the interior appearance.
what side skirt ground effects and front bumper spoiler do you have?
1992 z28 gfx and spoiler.
@@lsXmatt Thanks!
I gotta ask, by any chance are you driving around on Staten Island in this video?
Yea
275/40/17? Stock 17in wheel? 18in rear? What size tire?
275/40/18 in the rear, 275/35/18 in the front. 18x9.5 wheels all around.
@@lsXmatt Cool. I have the 17/18 staggered combo. I want to put 275s on the front. Or I can use my 4th Gen SS 5 stars...
You can buy a factory new replica 3rd Gen 3 spoke iroc steering wheel for the low low price of $378.00. Saw it advertised yesterday in car craft. Yikes!!!
that's not a LSX why do people keep thinking a 5.3 ls1 ls2 ls3 and so on . a LSx is a over the counter race block its orang
LSX is a race block, lsX is an ls/truck motor pieced together with parts from other ls motors. Like a 5.3 block with ls6 heads, ls7 cam, ls2 timing chain. It’s common knowledge, I don’t know why people think lsx is just a crate motor.
@@lsXmatt did not say crate motor I bought a bare block put cali's rotating assembly tfs heads single turbo ran 8:50 at 15 psi of boost turbo not even breathing yet I guess it's a truck block I should of not wasted my money just get a 5.3. Yep hold up a lot better then my crate block pass the X on to you man all good night
Where did u get ur computer and harness?
Harness is from psiconversion. Computer is from a 2002 Camaro.
are your wheel spacers hubcentric?
Yea
It’s not a Camaro wheel, get thez28
What camshaft is on the engine?
Tick performance stage 2 turbo cam.
@@lsXmatt thanks currently swapped a l33 on to my 4th gen With a mild cam saw your na dyno I'm assuming it'll perform on par with your na setup.
y do people care about the steering wheal the car isn't even stock y would it matter
it may have actually been a 1st gen firebird. memory is slipping haha
I just bought a 1996 Camaro Z28 after being a long time owner of a 1996 Camaro V6. The z28 is a rolling chassis car that I'll be swapping a twin turbocharged 350 small block in to
I'm assuming you bottom out at odd times hitting the transmission housing hard. Something about my lowered Camaros I've had. Best thing I did was make a skid plate that ran about 18" wide x 30" long. Never again worried about clipping railroad crossings.
I actually never hit the trans, the y pipe runs directly under it. Now that gets some abuse😬
The ls is great but it's becoming more cliche than running to the airport at the end of a romantic comedy.
Re-render this video at 24-30 FPS, this 60 non-sense is ridiculous.
Man, put the lower seatbelt lower; it should be holding your pelvis, not your stomach. Right now if you crash it will hurt your internal organs or break your ribs!
You correct your steering wheel does look better than your old one but for 50 bucks you can get a granite so what the hell you can put an LS in your Camaro but you can't afford a 50 to $70 steering wheel that's what people are complaining about
**7 things I LOVE about your 3rd gen:
1. LOVE the factory Quazar Blue color
2. LOVE the LSX Blown motor
3. LOVE the Roll cage
4. LOVE the Corbeau seats
5. LOVE the hood

7. LOVE the performance
**3 things I DISLIKE about your car....
1. RS grill!!!!!!!!
2. Flowcrapper single out Exhaust

Your car is eye candy. The video shoulded be done showing the car not you. Very nice car btw
