I have an iX 40, living in Norway with lower speed limits in summer it’s easy to beat WLTP on a long drive,y best range so far was 470km, mostly driving 80-95km/h. Your iX is on Idrive 8.5, it has manual battery preconditioning. The charging curve is much better with the latest software.
ARAL usually has the newest gear and 300 kW charger - it is the biggest german gas station chain and you guess it ? If you want to sell gas than you need to have either buy CO2 emission rights OR build charging points cause they will give you CO2 credits. Therefore the smart gas chains are rolling out their own charging network on every bigger station at least cause otherwise they would have to buy more CO2 emission rights. It is a simple calculation and ARAL has decided to move ahead and build high standard chargers also with roofs along the highway. 4:27 - have you recogniced why the cars that have passed other cars turn to the most right lane ? It is a law which means if you have overtaken a car than you have to be back on the right lane within 20 seconds otherwise you would get fined cause there are a lot police cars in civil camouflage with radar and distance measuring devices that film all day long. And they will stop you and show you the footage, also take the money instantly from foreigners (or your car would be confiscated), maybe the most expensive movie you have ever watched. If your distance is less than half of your speed then the next ticket has to be paid which are quite expensive. If you drive 200 km / h never get closer than 100 m. Below 100m you can expect 80€ or so, below 50 m a german driver licence would be gone for over a month - if it is the first time and of cause 250€ fine, the second time for 3 to 6 month and 500€ and more. Baden Baden is the Palm Springs of germany. Consumption of a Mercedes SL Roadster at 200 km / h is about 20 L / hkm (V12 6 Liter) which equals 200 kWh / hkm which people tend to forget if you face 30 or 40 kWh per hkm. 8:53 Walldorf is a big autobahn Kreuz and Mannheim / Ludwigsburg is the heart of german chemical industry, Walldorf is close to the SAP headquarter, the only german IT giant challenging oracle and others founded in 1973 or so. Therefore much traffic cause it is also the direct connection from Frankfurt to Switzerland, which is full especially during easter holidays when people are heading into the alps, so south is quite busy cause pupils have 3 weeks of holidays, a german employee 30 days vacation (monday to friday are working days, so 6 weeks off each year). I guess you had a lot fun and of cause on the Autobahn the model 3 is more efficient and also a lot faster cause model 3 has no speed limit if I remember that right. But over 200 km / h the way to stop is growing exponentially and the lanes gets smaller the faster you get especially beyond 250 km / h.

Model 3 SR top speed is 228-229. I enjoyed reading your post I wish more people replied so in-depth!
If you go on the A5 further north, just before Frankfurt, there is a straight several miles and 8-10 lanes.
