A parent shouldn’t have to change what the beliefs are for their child. If they drift apart so be it but, I think love will always be there. I for one can separate what/who a person is from one things they believe or do. But that doesn’t mean I now accept that belief it or agree with it. And it’s finding that balance with whoever you’re close with and whatever your differences are. I think it’s easy for people to blame the parents in these situations when it’s more complicated than oh you should just accept everything even if it’s what you’re against. Worst of all is their hypocrisy. Personally, I believe in a higher power - maybe it's God. I also personally believe they can see and know what you're doing - going to a designated building means little.
I have heard that the tenets of Scientology require the members to sever all contact with family members who refuse to join the church, even children, spouses, parents and siblings.

While he appeared to be a loving dad from the outside and I don’t doubt he loved her in his own way, to me she seemed more like simply a prop for him to use as “proof” of how mega successful he was in life. At times it appeared she was being treated more like an adult than the child she was, constantly being showcased in lavish, luxurious outfits at glamorous events.
One of the (probably many) positive things that came out of the divorce was that poor Suri’s face stopped being splashed across the media almost daily, covering every tiny thing she did. As she got older reports would frequently become quite judgemental, criticising a toddler/child for displaying average behaviour for their age. No kid deserves to grow up under such public scrutiny vulnerable to anything they do being open to harsh criticism or mockery from unkind strangers who lurk on the internet. As they get older they have to live with the knowledge that any mistake or misstep they may have made growing up is now forever documented on the www for all and sundry to access.
