Slightly OT, I've always wondered if that song inspired or was at least a title reference for "One MC, One Delay" by Don Johnson Big Band. Anyone know?

@@m0t0rbr3th9 I just type it in the comments section but I think you'd have to sign up for patreon to get more song suggestions listened to. I've been requesting some songs since they started this channel and nothing...
The video is shot in the train station in Tokyo, Japan and they didn't have a permit to film there. Imagine what the people on their way to work thought seeing that 😂
The beauty of The Beastie Boys....they were all hype men. They traded verses and hyped when they weren't flowing. You can't buy that kinda talent and can't deny their impact.
My favorite Power Ranger? Billy the blue Ranger. One because he pilots the triceratops, my favorite dinosaur at the time. Second because my favorite color at the time was blue. Also gotta get to Too Many Rappers, Paul Revere, and No Sleep til Brooklyn
This is my all time favorite Beastie Boy’s song. Always love the Beastie Boys. I had the Hello Nasty album on cassette when I was a kid. A few years ago I finally found a cd of the album Hello Nasty and I bought it.
The video has nothing to do with Power Rangers, it's referencing the old Japanese Godzilla movies in which Godzilla often battled other giant monsters (who always came either from beyond the sea or from outer space). The scene in which the monster trips into the electric wires is a direct reference to a similar scene from one of those movies, I remember seeing that when I was young (I'm a bit older than you, born in 1971). The nod to the Godzilla movies is also the reason why they filmed it in Tokyo where all (Japanese) Godzilla movies were produced.
All these reactions to Intergalactic and no one points out that each verse ends on the same sound. The entire verse rhymes, not just two lines in a row. And they did it all three verses.
You got to check out Get it Together off of the Ill Communication album. Q-Tip features on that track and it's truly amazing. The beat is ridiculous too. It's my personal favorite Beastie track.
This song came out in 1998, and I was born in 1985. I was 13 at the time, and I will never forget when I first got this album. I was with my Nanny and Papaw (My dad's dad and stepmom). Every other Saturday if they were available and I was at my dad's for that weekend, I would spend Saturday with them while my dad was at work (if they weren't available, I'd stay with my dad at the motorcycle shop while he worked), and while with my Nanny and Papaw, and Papaw would always take me to Walmart and BestBuy after we ate breakfast when Nanny went to work. I'd get a magazine from Walmart and I'd get a CD from BestBuy, and when this album came out, I bought it because I loved this song, and I'll never forget the day I bought it. I spent the entire day in my great-grandmother's (Papaw's mom's) old room with the door closed, doing homework, while listening to this album on repeat at max volume. ♥
the Various scenes are filmed in the Shibuya and Shinjuku train stations in Tokyo, Japan; the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 makes a brief appearance. Throughout the video, the band wear bright uniforms of (Koji) Japanese street construction workers
Talking about missing rap groups, would love to see you guys react to the Epic Rap Battles, cause the bar trades are just so good for a large portion of those.
Pure class this track from one of my favourite Beastie Boys albums 😜 Should check out their gig live at Glastonbury! Also the interview on the bus after their gig is Hilarious 😂
I really like the lyrics in this song. "I am known to do the wop" Reminds me of my lil bro rip 92-22. Have you guys checked out Jethro Tull? I think you'll like them! Happy Friday boys!
Never heard anything by Beastie Boys before. If you guys are able please please do some more Heilung. Some of their new songs are amazing. "Tenet", "Anoana", and "Eldennsurin" Also a couple artists you've probably never heard of: Aviators: "Godhunter", "Remains", "No One Will Save You Now", and "No More Heroes" Les Friction: "Firewall", "World on Fire", "Dark Matter" Bonus: Audiovent: "The Energy"
Two cool things about the video: 1. The KAIJU scenes were filmed at TOEI STUDIOS, where the original GOJIRA/ゴジラ (GODZILLA) movies were created. 2. The underground and street scenes with the BEASTIEs were shot in and around Tokyo’s SHINJUKU STATION, the busiest train station in the world. I’ve walked through there countless times before and after the video was made. “I’ve got more rhymes than I’ve got gray hairs, and that’s a lot ‘cause the I got my share.” You really should check out the PAUL’S BOUTIQUE and ILL COMMUNICATION albums in their entirety.
A funny anecdote about Tommy / Jason David Frank from the original Power Rangers show - They used to film Power Rangers near Saugus, California, and my uncle always hung out at a Carrow's diner that was in that town. And he used to see the main actors show up every once in awhile to have lunch, or what have you. But the one time he talked to any of them was when Jason David Frank (green ranger) sat up at the counter where you could smoke, and he was a couple seats down from where my uncle was sitting. So, kids eating there were shyly walking up and asking him for an autograph, and Jason was signing them with a lit cigarette in his mouth. Then after all the kids were done, my uncle said to him, "You know, these kids look up to you. Maybe you should put the cigarette out?" And very politely, Jason replied, "Yea. But what are you gonna do?" My uncle replied, "Yea," and then lit up a cigarette right on the spot, lol
I would try some Beastie Boys track that weren’t the big singles. They really are very creative in what they choose to sample and two over. Try “Root Down” or just about anything from Ill Communication
I love the beasties they are one of my all time favorite groups, and for me this song is about how their stlye is "out of this world" great/original/unmatchable. period.
Grammy award won for this song and also the album (Hello Nasty), this is a shout out too the old Godzilla movies of the 60s and 70's, those were and are still the best Godzilla years (Toho years)
Now that I know y'all like the Beastie Boys you def gotta check this out. Paul Meany did a tribute to the Beastie Boys using a looper and doing all of it completely by himself. It's sick AF! ruclips.net/video/uebd0k1MBGo/видео.html
This song takes me back to a beautiful time in life. If you want kind of a similar vibe from some more hip hop gods, check out Fu Schnickens - Ring the Alarm
Back in the day you could jump into a cypher. Freestyle off of someone’s bar. Keep the theme going. If you flow with that person, put the pen to paper. That was fun. Now it’s all clout and competition. Just flowing with some folk is the most fun I’ve had. Period.
I was never a Beastie Boys fan, but this is one of the few that I did like. It just gets in your head. The other one that I actually like is “So What’cha Want”.
You should check out Beastie Boys albums Check Your Head, and ILL Comunication. They fuse rock, punk, funk, and rap. Both albums are awesome. R.I.P. MCA. Thank you for all of your music. God speed.
If it's alt-hip hop trios that do it for you, check out Young Fathers, a band from Edinburgh, Scotland. But you must check them out live or in session, not just via album tracks from the studio. The best intro to them is probably their session in 2019 at KEXP radio in Seattle. It's on RUclips and it's gold. Headphones in and volume up though. Pretty much all of their songs are absolute monsters when interpreted live.
You guys need to check out the up and coming rap group Coast Contra. I'd recommend that you check out their songs/freestyles "Scenario", "Rare", "Speechless" & "Never". They've also recently done a remix of The Fugees Fu-Gee-La with Devine too.
TRUE OGs, real old school ORIGINATORS. And Hollywood, you simply can't be into rap without loving and respecting The Beastie Boys. It is like saying you like heavy metal but don't like Black Sabbath. Y'all need to do 3 MCs and One DJ, a single take one cut recording that will prove that you cannot ignore them. Who you gonna diss next, Grandmaster Flash??? Behave yourself.
I was so into BB at the time and thought very highly of Ill Communication. I got to say, I remember being disappointed by Hello Nasty. It seemed like they where out of step for the 1st time. No longer of the moment.
Beastie produced all there sounds and music most of the instrumental from there beats are from them jaming and cutting but all there music from top to bottom is all them thsts whst makes them special
*Beastie Boys - "Three MC's and One DJ" is a MUST. It was done in one take. Real hip hop, real scratching*

From living in Tokyo, my hunch is that was Shibuya Station (of the famous crossing). They are dressed like street workmen though.
The beauty of The Beastie Boys....they were all hype men. They traded verses and hyped when they weren't flowing. You can't buy that kinda talent and can't deny their impact.
Such a fun song! Lyrically, it reminds me of those really old school songs where they just rap about how good they are at rapping. Love it.
My mom loved the Beastie Boys! I miss her. 50+ rocking out in a minivan.
Man, us old guys love Beastie Boys. One of the first cassette tapes I ever bought was License to Ill.
You guys should do 3 MC's and 1 DJ, maybe Holywood will vibe with it.

11:26 on passing verses - I think my favorite for that is Get It Together with them and Q-Tip. Can't believe I was like 15 when that shit came out.
Beastie Boys always had great videos.
This is my all time favorite Beastie Boy’s song. Always love the Beastie Boys. I had the Hello Nasty album on cassette when I was a kid. A few years ago I finally found a cd of the album Hello Nasty and I bought it.
It reminds me of the song/video for 3 mcs and 1 DJ. The way he peaced out after playing the song. Y’all should check it out
QUACK QUACK!! This and Sabotage were the best things the boys did since the 80's.

Definitely one of the dopest songs from that era. Also shout out to the Tales From The Crypt shirt Smokey is wearing. Miss that series.
