  • Ulsan is a major city that’s much less known to tourists, but still has a lot to offer. I went on a one-day tour of Ulsan together with Korean Jream and Korean Arah. The places we showed in this video were 십리대밭교 (Simnidaebat Bridge), 태화강 국가정원 (Taehwagang River Grand Park), 울산 십리대숲 (Ulsan Taehwagang Bamboo Forest), 대왕암공원 (Daewangam Park), 현대자동차 울산공장 (Ulsan Hyundai Motors Plant), and 일산해수욕장 (Ilsan Beach).

    OMG! Did no once including myself notice that I said 1745 was Goryeo dynasty? 🤯 I was rewatching it just because it’s fun 😊 and realized it! Everyone, 1745 was deep into Joseon dynasty! 😂

    Awesome video! Didnt know Korean Arah played piano (선생님 정말 좋아요!). You did so well! We will have to talk about your piano skills during our next tutoring session :P
    Korean Jream crossing the bridge is basically me (너무 싫어요!). But that breath-taking view on the other side and the Dragon King & Queen story was definitely worth it.
    Thanks Billy for these videos! It's so encouraging to see what awaits me when I come visit Korea in the future. My list is getting so long LOL.

    Ok so I am a beginner learner in Korean and I’m already starting to say things like “this is a perfect date for a place.” It’s the mind melting phase of language learning, lol. Also funniest line in video: “three-eyed fish…rare item.” 😂

    Ulsan Represent! Thank you for showing some beautiful Ulsan sights, well maybe not the Hyundai Motor plant though you could almost call Ulsan "Hyundai City" as Hyundai is the dominant Chaebol in Ulsan and surrounding area.

    Hey Billy! I have a bit of a complex question on hanja. Before hangul when koreans wrote in full hanja (classical chinese), did they write in chinese word order (SVO) or did they write the charcters in korean word order (SOV)?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Год назад

      If they were writing in Korean, there were some "romanization" systems for Korean that used Chinese characters, and they'd just write Korean. So they'd write Korean in Korean sentence order.

    • @samford2442
      @samford2442 Год назад

      @@GoBillyKorean yes I'm familiar with some of the "romanisation" forms like Idu, but from historical sources it's said that scholars wrote in full classical chinese without any "romanisation" systems. I can't grasp how they did this and understood eachother in letters, texts, calligraphy etc..

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Год назад

      Educated people (such as for writing official documents) learned the Chinese language - reading and writing. They weren't writing Korean, but Chinese. Or they would use one of those romanization systems if they wanted to write Korean. The majority of the country however did not know how to read and write at all. Literacy is super high now in Korea, but it wasn't that way in the past.

    • @samford2442
      @samford2442 Год назад

      @@GoBillyKorean I see, any idea where can I learn some of these romanisation systems?
