Hello what I could understand from your question is 1. There is no role of starting the motor while coasting down, machine RPM reduces on its own, and one its speed reaches near to barring RPM then barring motor cuts in and maintains the machine on barring speed. 2. Role cracking motor is startup: when the machine is in acceleration mode and the machine RPM increases above 60% the rated speed, then the cranking motor disengages and the turbine is on self-sustaining speed.

I am kind of wonder, when the turbine is running at no load speed, let say 6000 rpm, how the load (for example process compressor / generator) can be introduced since the load at this moment is at standstill? Will the load increases the speed from 0 rpm to 6000 rpm (assuming gear ratio of 1) instantenously?
While we introduce the load, the initial load is low and machine control system allows speed reduction upto 4-5% of full speed. Although the actual variation is very less, that is the beauty of the GT control system. To understand this please read on droop and watch my video on droop.
