Fun fact: the filmmakers made Cosmo female instead of male (like in the comics) to reflect the fact that the Soviets only utilized female dogs in their space program.

James Gunn back at it again with random, unnecessary changes to the source material. This time, he swapped the gender of a god damn dog
That wouldnt even be a problem if he didnt simultaneously reduce Cosmo to another punchline because "funny dog is funny." Cosmo is supposed to be the competent head of security of Knowhere, not whatever this mess is
He swapped the gender in order to honor Laika, which is the dog that Cosmo is based on.
He didn't swap it just for the hell of it, it was meant as an homage
it never stops hurting 😭
