RDA made SG1 stand out as such a great show. There are so many laughs in that show, it’s genuinely quite funny for a sci fi action with serious plot elements. Amazing show
Some of my favourite moments are when Jack and his flippant remarks, cracked me up. In fact, with me being a grammar nerd myself, my favourite line has become, “You ended that sentence with a preposition! Bastard!” 😂❤
I love that line but was always confused on the concept of prepositions. I remember hearing somewhere that prepositions have nothing to do with grammar. Not sure if that is true. I think the argument is that the concept was added because someone thought latin sounded more "impactful" but the rule doesn't really belong in other languages and can have negative results.
@@Galford8322 Ricky’s Dad was an English teacher and made sure all of his children were taught proper grammar. Perhaps different rules based on the type of English, since American English.ish is different from British English.
Just yesterday I was thinking about this exchange: Daniel: "Jack" Jack: "...Daniel" Daniel: "....Jack..." Jack: "...Daniel" Daniel: "....Jack..." SG1 was awesome.
A spectacular career and interesting gentleman. I just saw him performing in a band on RUclips from earlier times and he can really rock n roll! A very multitalented, handsome guy! Always in my heart ❤️ Much love from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
I keep hearing they will be making another Stargate SG1 and I just can’t see it. Without Richard and the rest of the original casts chemistry it just won’t be anywhere near as successful. It was a one of a kind show. I miss it horribly.
@@TheCompanionApp I knew it was the beginning of the end. I like Ben Browder and Claudia Black but in my eyes they just didn’t fit in with the group. And the new villain, the Orai, having a dark religious want to take over the galaxy….nope didn’t care for it.
I remember watching an episode with the commentary on where director Martin Wood related it was like pulling teeth to get RDA to say what was supposed to be a serious line about someone who hanged themselves, and RDA kept adding stuff like "soap on a rope". My favorite RDA line of the whole series was in the episode where they connect to the planet being swallowed by the black hole, and experience time dilation through the gate. Gen. Hammond leaves the SGC to go contact the Pentagon or President, and in outside time is gone for a day or so. When he gets back, only a few minutes have passed to him, and when Gen. Hammond says he has flown to DC and back, O'Neill looks incredulous and says "I thought you were on the phone."
What I miss about those older show is I could let my kids watch them without worry that there would be some inappropriate content. Today you can't just let your kids watch a show anymore.
Hello. I wouldn't want to see Stargate without the original cast. I started watching it because of Richard, when the series came out it lost its charm. To the entire team, it won't be the same without you, especially without Richar😊
My 2 favorite Sci-Fi actors of all time, Patrick Stewart and Richard Dean Anderson. When I was in 7th grade I was asked what my favorite TV show was and I said MacGyver. 3 best Sci-Fi shows ever was Star Trek NG, SG1, and Fire Fly. I don' t think we will ever see anything come close to them again.
What was happening outside of the edited version, was why Rick is apologising, because it took him a long time to realise that his humour was destroying the script. It was only when the other cast members started doing it too, that he realised how far off script everything was going!
RDA would be a great "ship," in the next installment. Asgardian AI style. His avatar could make fun of others, be anyone, any age, any voice. Less Romi, more Holly.
This really, really sounds like 1980s ish General Hospital energy. It was less tightly scripted and let some actors improv their lines. Which made it stand out from the forced dialogue from other daytime. The dialogue wasn't any better. But this looseness allowed the skill of the Actors to shine through regardless. RDA was a Daytime king before MacGyver. I wonder if he got it from there or transmitted this from his time on GH.
So miss Stargate SG1. I bought the full set and watch it over and over. I have to say I hated the Ori series though. I found them really boring. Baal was the best laughs.
Those little qirks made the show seem more real, "Indeed". I recall the episode where he & Carter was sent to another gate on earth, and Carter states. "You just spent seven years on McGyver & you can't figure this one out? Wev'e got belt buckles, & shoe laces & a piece of gum, build a nuclear reactor for crying out loud". lmao.
Man..i miss stargate so much. I don't get how such a successful show hasn't been greenlit for another go. There's already a guaranteed viewership compared a brand new original show
it would have been 6 episodes a season and had the show cancelled after 2.5 seasons because it didn't have 38 million eyes on the screen each episode, with a 10% gain in viewership each week.
The scariest part of the Ori episodes was that they foreshadowed White Christian Nationalism. I enjoyed Stargate SG-1 because it was a family. Like a good book you have to like the characters you read about. With Stargate its that you loved and still love the characters. Literate scripts help but all the actors and production personnel made for incredible entertainment.
WTF are you talking about? Christianity doesn't kill anyone these days. You're thinking of another religion which according to its law apostasy is punishable by death. The same religion which demands the death of anyone who offends them and their P***phile prophet.
His flippant little lines pretty much made the show.
His snark/cynicism was the best
I just turned 60 and I see growth of a human being. Thank you for sharing!

I also like the who vs whom 😊
When my brother calls me, he always asks, " Where you at... asshole ?" 😂
Was that when he was being tortured by Ba'al?

a disney move would be to reshoot it with 2 dogs, a hamster and a toaster, or whatever their pronouns are that day.@tecTitus
If they make a new show they'll ruin it by spoonfeeding woke nonsense
@@kasis69 If Disney do it it will be SG-Woke ;)
What did you think of the later seasons w/out Rick?

Stargate one of my top 5 shows ever

Lesson learned. You are a better person for this life lesson. Cool!
I remember one scene that Richard did where he was telling someone he did something twice and holds up 3 fingers.
He also did that to Senator Kinsley in reference to O'Neill having 2 L's 🤣
Great video...👍
Still handsome ❤

Stargate had so much heart to it

You’ve spoken what’s in my heart too, thank you :)
That era of sci-fi is unlikely to ever come back particularly now in the streaming era
what goes around comes around but still love this guy as an actor.
I kind of want to watch Stargate again now. Guess I will clear my schedule for the next 6 months.
the show still holds up today and I still watch it on Sling M-F.
It's definitely one of those "jump in" shows where you could really just jump in anywhere and it's a fun hour!
Great interview Prb7166
Ahora lo veo, y no puedo dejar de pensar que el haría un buen papel como Max Tennyson
I love RDA! MacGyver was part of my childhood and of course SG1 was fantastic.
For us the public seen the aired product. It was the best having the warmth and calm Comment and fun avoiding to be so strict

Well, I certainly would expect MacGyver to drill down and get to the truth of a situation.
RDA I could not love u more❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I bet you can love him this much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Jokes make Jack O'Neil better than the Movie version of Jack.
Still ❤ "Carter.... is mental illness contagious"?
Herding cats….
Cats are very popular at The Companion
Never go into Stargate, but RDA will always be MacGyver.
