Lost in translation - brilliant gem of a man. A national treasure of India.
"Language is not a script" "Languages have regions but not religion." Great wisdom.
This is a very important lecture on Urdu Ghazal!!
Javed Akhter himself a wonderful dictionary/book of literature
"Books bought by interior decorator" What an observation. Shows precisely how our priorities changed. Love you Javed Ji. Thanks for clarifying symbols in Ghazals. That has given me new insight into them. Always a pleasure listening to you.
We should not run after money so much where we loose our culture, I have made it a point to create an environment of poetry and music in my house. I write poetry my self my 14 years daughter Vartika has started writing. I think I am blessed.

Ghazal in short is a beautifully calliberated woman. Each part of her body is appreciated in a different manner. From her crowning glory down to her slender body to ethereal fingers of hands and feet, properly manicured and pedicured nails.
Waaah kiya baat hai hmesha se aap har topic ko apny lafzoon se khubsurat bana dety hain..
living legend
I studied three languages in School English, Hindi and Punjabi and read a good amount of poetry from class 8th to 10th so it is not true that we are not introducing children to poetry. I think there is not much an opportunity in general for an average person in the field of arts. The very best can still make a life of it. So i think most of people choose science and commerce to ensure their survival. Lot of engineers i know are big time book worms and read novels. I think poetry is very tough to parse and grasp unless you have lot of patience and good grasp of literature and language. One way to make it popular could be to have online courses on poetry so that more and more people can learn the craft.
syntax of Hindi and Urdu are the same. Therefore same language but difference in scripts and some verbs and nouns.
This is a rare gem
really nice idea to start poetry classes
Wonderful explanations.
Beautiful & rich thoughts. Great.
Life is gaining tempo/speed and we see less things when we are moving fast
