- Jashn-e-Rekhta, a 2-Day grand Urdu Festival celebrated by Rekhta Foundation (www.rekhta.org) on March 14th and 15th at India International Centre, Delhi.
For two mesmeric days, some of the Urdu’s finest poets, authors and artists came together to bring alive Urdu’s lyrical beauty and resonating eloquence through live performances, panel discussions and interactive sessions.

Javed Akhtar sahab has completely removed my bias against Urdu that it is the language of the Muslims. I have understood his point of view and accept it completely. I think he is brilliant in his understanding and expression of whatever he wants to communicate
Yes, same can be said for Hindi as Muslims, Christians and Sikhs in India even learn Hindi at schooling institutions.

If I could have spoken Urdu as fluently as the host did, I would have been happy. I am Bengali and I love my language, but every word of Urdu sounds like poetry! ❤️

I can listen to Javed Saheb forever. His wit, his humour makes his point of view even more relevant in these times of distress for language and ones view point. I read Tarkash when I was in college first year. I am 44 years old now and it remains one of the most impressionable poems in my conscience. Thank you rekhta for making this happen. And thank you Javed Saheb for being there in my lifetime.
My mother tongue is Bundeli, I speak english and urdu fluently but I am in love with urdu language.

Yes, I know Urdu is a Indian Language and originated in United India during Muslim rule Of India by Muslims of India who were well versed in local language and then official language of Royal court Persian, Turkish and religious language of Arabic. this is urdu.the most sweet language of our world.sometimes i think people who do not know poetry of faiz ahmed faiz,they have opened their eyes but they have not seen the world yet.

Can you or anybody here tell me what is the best way to learn the Urdu script? I am trying to learn from the RUclips (Learn Urdu through hindi) but it is not so easy.
I am a Tamilian who grew up in Delhi and know Hindi well.
+Saeed Ahmed All the grammar and composition of Urdu comes from Sanskrit. If you replace the vocabulary of English language with Urdu and start calling it Uinglish then it won't necessarily become a new language. Urdu is a stolen language. The actual language is Hindustani.
+Rajesh Kumar no doubt this lovely language has strong ties with hindustani languages as well.

my father had learned mirza ghalib by heart and most of iqbals also ,these days khawar neemroze is another great man these days bait bazi has declined it was a great fill up for poetry ,zazbis son suhail had a knack of remembering Urdu couplet

I am from Paksitan and I have asked hundreds of people the meanings of Rehzan or Rahaber from Dard-e-disco song but unfortunately almost no one answered me correctly and my Urdu is not even that good. Appreiate Rekhta for the work it has done for Urdu.
