Those were good old days. Our back wall was with the household of Dr. Laeeq Babri, the director of institute of modern languages who later in life did a lot of translations of Iqbal and Faiz into French. Two houses over was Ahmed Faraz and Mrs Mittman, and at the end of the road was Agha Nasir who was chairman of PTV at that time. Two homes over in the front was Air Marshal Isghar Khan’s family with sister and brother in law. Lost days to creative and progressive Pakistan.
Great poet, Ahmed Faraz. Poetry comprises of a thought process followed by putting the thought into rhyming words. Great poets have a sublime thought process and an excellent way of putting the thought into words. One verse of good poetry carries a world of meaning and Ahmad Faraz's verses are full a living example of this.
Indeed and very well said.. Ahmad Faraz after Faiz Ahmad Faiz dominated the world of urdu poetry. It's been 13 years since he's gone and the gap is yet to be filled..
