I have to tell you that this is absolutely one of the best reviews I have seen on any of the bluetooth gaming controllers out there. I have been researching for the last few weeks. Scrounging through reviews and comparing price points, features and styles on all of the bluetooth controllers (all of the MOGA's, Ipega's and the G910). You have absolutely nailed it with this review and you immediately sealed my decision for my first bluetooth controller purchase. Showing those two rear L2 and R2 triggers made my decision that much more absolute for my N64 emulating and all other emulating I plan on doing. Also, what worried me was I saw your first review for the first generation Ipega, (didn't know it was you) it made me nervous about which controller would fit my Note 3 with the retractable bracket. Thank you so much again for taking the time to put this together and helping me make a great purchase.
Hey Brick. Nice review. I have purchased this gamepad about 3 days ago and noticed my l1, l2, r1, r2 buttons are the wrong way round. I mean l1 button is l2 button and r1 button is r2. Is yours the same or have I got a faulty one?
Hey Andi Dote Thanks for the kind words regarding the video. The L1 L2 and R1 R2 should be upside down. So if you tilt the game pad towards you, you can read them correctly. The XBOX 360 controller has the same upside down labels on the bumpers and triggers. hope this helps! thanks for the like as well! Cheers.
@Psyphox Thanks for your comment, As I state in the video its a Note 3, not a note 3 neo. the phone in the video has a 5.7 inch display. It is also in a Spigen case which also fits within the clamp just fine.
Well if you count emulators a lot! plus more and more games that are made for android will support a game pad. Check always before buying a game to make sure it has game pad support. Thanks for them comment Kanye Lopez
I was wondering if this controller would hold my Doogee Dagger which is 76mm high and be able to leave the silicone case on. Here it's holding the 79mm GN3 with the case still on so I should be good to go. Awesome vid, thanks man.
Great review, made me want to buy the pad. I have a question though, do you think an Asus Memopad 7 could fit in the hold? It is a small yablet not much bigger than your Samsung phone, I would really love to play in my memopad with this pad while on the bus/trips.
David Santos Thanks for the kind words! I dont think it would fit. But search "IPEGA 9023" that has a clamp down the middle of the gamepad instead of the top. I might pick one up soon and make a video. I have still yet to do research on it but I would like to get it for my nexus 7.
Brick Thanks for the reply Brick, Im now considering the 9023 since my main mobile gaming device is the tablet and that gamepad should be the better choice.
I just bought one. I installed My Boy (GBA Emulator), and there is no need for key mapping which is a good thing. Gameboid didn't work though. It is indeed a nice buy, I'm enjoying Dead Trigger so much!
Jun Bacalzo It depends on the parring mode. You can pair it as a game pad (minimal to no keymapping) If you are playing something newer you might want to use a different paring mode to get mapping how you like it. Yea dead trigger is awesome.
bought a moga pocket its nice and all but the left analog stick is stiff and more psp style however looking at this i do regret buying the moga as both these are at the same price anyone interested in buying a pad i suggest ipega just because of the l2 and r2 and better analogs
Yea if its not working with the iCade mode then I'm not sure what else to do. The issue is capability with iOS. All modes work in slightly different ways. Also make sure the game supports a game pad before you buy it and always check online if anyone is having issues. I wouldn't recommend this game pad for iOS users just due to the lack of capability on iOS.
That's a great question! I think it may be possible depending on the emulator your using. I know some emulators support more then one input method so I don't see why not. Thanks for the question Rafael Stenzel.
Brick You are welcome :) Im just thinking about a cheap method to use my phone or tablet as an emulator machine from time to time including multiplayer games. Seems like using this controller as a keyboard 2 times should work. It is just too bad that my wireless XBOX 360 Controllers cannot be used through the one wireless transmitter.
Paulo Francisco It should work with any android phone that has jellybean or newer. It uses Bluetooth so if you wanted to you can even get it to work on your pc! (a lot of set up work tho)
I'm sure the Samsung product is just as good maybe better but when it comes down to it your paying more for the Samsung brand.(Samsung spends a lot on marketing etc) This does the job for a fraction of the cost. If you want a Xbox quality Gamepad for mobile phones this is a great choice.
I think this is more a ipega pro , like the moga controllers . I wouldn't take this one on the bus because it is to bulky to put away into my pocket :D
Doesn't Work with pc. The compatibility is so bad that the joysticks and the butttons doesn't respond on the pc. I tried it in 4 games with the 4 different connect types but only the half of the buttons works at every connect type.
kostas skordas Well it should, but this gamepad is mainly for a mobile device(hence the clamp), I wouldn't get it to game on the pc. It should work fine on the pc but it might take time to set up. I use 4 xbox 360 controllers connected to my pc using a wireless receiver.

Thanks so much keithgarske! I'm really glad to have helped!

Hey Brick thank you for the great review.I would like to know if FIFA 14 works well with the controller.Thank you!:D
@Psyphox Thanks for your comment, As I state in the video its a Note 3, not a note 3 neo. the phone in the video has a 5.7 inch display. It is also in a Spigen case which also fits within the clamp just fine.
Hey brick how many games is this compatible with?

Brick will this gamepad work on Bluetooth 4.0?
I was wondering if this controller would hold my Doogee Dagger which is 76mm high and be able to leave the silicone case on. Here it's holding the 79mm GN3 with the case still on so I should be good to go. Awesome vid, thanks man.

Omg best nickname ever
Haha thanks BigSmoke
great vid on the controller. Sold me on how much better it is than the samsung gamepad. Also on its performance on multi-platforms.

Nice review...
BTW can it support 6 inch phones?
Thanks, I believe it will work for a phone that is 80mm (3,1 inches) or less.
it seems that the phone stays a little bent backwards? i would excpet it to bend forwards for a better experience.
sorry for bad english
You're right it is a little bent backwards but it mainly depends on how your sitting, for the most part its great.
thanks for the review
I'm on IOS the newest version iPhone 6s and the controller pairs but doesn't work with anything, help please
Pls can this gamepad work on mtk device
Is it comfortable to hold? and do you think it should be bigger?
+Devin Martin Yea its pretty comfortable, but not as much as the xbox360/steam controller.
What should I prefer to buy ipega 9025 or samsung gamepad?
Paulo Francisco It's ultimately up to you bud. But for the price the ipega is a great buy!
Great stuff. I have no doubt its money well spent
what latest ipega bluetooth controller 9023 telescopic or 9025
Are the ABXY buttons too close?
Brick, what's the model of your ipega controller?
Can u use this game pad with a Chromebox?
Nice review
Thanks Key, means a lot!
This vid sounds so sad lol and the music too 😂 😅 nice review. Might buy it
Ashley Smith Haha, thanks for the comment. I did it as a joke :P It's worth it if u game a lot on your phone.
bought a moga pocket its nice and all but the left analog stick is stiff and more psp style however looking at this i do regret buying the moga as both these are at the same price anyone interested in buying a pad i suggest ipega just because of the l2 and r2 and better analogs
you can buy a bluetooth dongle for a PC theyre £1 or like $2
Yea go to dx.com it's a good site for things like that.
Can I Play games with it on my PC by connecting it through the USB Cable ?
I dont think so but if your pc supports bluetooth or get a bluetooth adapter it can work.
The I cade mode work but another Modes doesn't work

I found a way to play with another modes with blutrol but it dosent support ios 7
Is it possible to get 2 or more of these to work simultaneously for some multiplayer emulator action ?
That's a great question! I think it may be possible depending on the emulator your using. I know some emulators support more then one input method so I don't see why not. Thanks for the question Rafael Stenzel.
Brick You are welcome :)

does ipega ctrller works with windows phone ? i want to buy if so..
Mr.Fill_Bananas There is a keyboard pairing mode using bluetooth. It tricks the device to thinking its a keyboard that should work for sure.
aw thank you.. i'll try to buy it and tell if works or not. if not, no problem i still can use it for my pc, right? :)
Is this controller can play on samsung s5 ?
Does it work on mc4?
Asphalt 8 does it work?
Paulo Francisco It should work with any android phone that has jellybean or newer. It uses Bluetooth so if you wanted to you can even get it to work on your pc! (a lot of set up work tho)
Paulo Francisco I haven't testing that game out so not sure.
well... you make this item sound really good. lol. hard to believe Samsung are flogging their Gamepad $99 on amazon - when you have this alternative
I'm sure the Samsung product is just as good maybe better but when it comes down to it your paying more for the Samsung brand.(Samsung spends a lot on marketing etc) This does the job for a fraction of the cost. If you want a Xbox quality Gamepad for mobile phones this is a great choice.
Does this work with n64 emulator
If the emulator can button map then your pretty much good to go.
I think this is more a ipega pro , like the moga controllers . I wouldn't take this one on the bus because it is to bulky to put away into my pocket :D
It is bulky but it's not that bad, worth it if your are going to travel for long periods of time. Would of been nice if it had some sorta case.
I have an iphone and u try to play Gta sa with ipega but it doesn't work
That's a bummer, did you try all the different connection modes?
Doesn't Work with pc. The compatibility is so bad that the joysticks and the butttons doesn't respond on the pc. I tried it in 4 games with the 4 different connect types but only the half of the buttons works at every connect type.
