These paintings are not meant to express imagination and should not really be criticized for the lack of, they should be viewed in a similar way as a portrait painting where the artist is attempting to capture the look exactly as it is seen. I understand your views on the movement as a whole if it is not to your liking but it lacks imagination because there is not meant to be imagination to begin with, similar to photography the artist is just trying to capture the scene, expressionism is a whole different movement in itself where feelings are incorporated into it, you wouldn't criticise a photographer for capturing a landscape and not putting his imagination into it because that would not be real. As far as bob ross goes i find him peaceful to watch and listen to but i find every painting of his to be exactly the same with exactly the same imagination expressed in each one, i personally would like to have seen him mix it up with different feelings where everything isnt just a happy little bush with a happy friend next to it, i would love to have seen him express sadness or anger or confusing into some of his paintings also otherwise its just expressing the same feeling every single time which in my opinion actually lacks imagination.

Поймите , это не область живописи , это технические изыски раскрашивания . Живопись настоящая , гораздо , многократно глубже , где сутью является Тон , Цвет . Настоящий живописец - ищет , а не работает , как принтер . Если Вы бы увидели за работой Мастера , то поняли о чём я . Там нет механических повторений , нет аккуратных , согласованных движений , такое впечатление , что всё случайно получается ... Но это искусство , смотрите Сезана , смотрите Добиньи , и Вам ни когда не захочется наслаждаться механикой раскрашивания .
It's exciting, to the point where I offered myself the pleasure of enjoying it for a while. Not only did he tickle my memory and my imagination but he urged me to accompany him in his gestures and the movements of his variable brushes. Each time he changed his brush to slowly kill his ideas on his canvas which welcomes them without reacting. She accepted them all but it is to this tireless painter that I must recognize the merit of taming her ideas and arranging on this judicious composition of colors which invite you to admire them more to try to read your own thoughts than you are not, in reality, able to expose them to us. Too bad, you could have made a long journey with him in this past which, at times, challenges us to relive it to understand our changes.
