I suppose he could’ve done it on an exhale but there is a very specific way that you inhale that tricks your body into opening up your vocal cords on and inhale producing that exact distinctive shriek it would just be unusual to be able to sustain and amplify it for that long it puts a lot of strain on your vocal cords because it isn’t natural which is why it makes that banshee like sound.
