The 6 gal actually has a shorter runtime and is not brushless, but it is noticeably more powerful. Its attachment holders are also better, although due to being elastic, may not hold up in the long term. Time will tell.
Im not impressed with the 6 gallon, even with a 4ah ir only looking at like a 10min tun time. Not to mention used the glue gun to fix a shipping damage crack, and a heat gun to actually get the lid to seal properly....go small if ur buying a ryobi cordless.
Prepping my sailboat to sell, I had water in the bilge that had to be cleaned out. There was diesel and oil floating on the bilge water. This vacuum cleaned it all out easily and enabled me to go into the marine survey with a very clean, dry bilge. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I now use it for maintenance on my wood pellet stove. It also excels in this. My only frustration is not being able to find new filters!
Nah, Ridgid has the same type of model, but battery life is a bit better. In addition, Ryobi is for DYI use only. There are a lot better manufacturers out there.
Nice, honest review. I wish Ryobi would have made this and the six gallon brushless, hybrid vacs. I have the Ryobi 3 gallon and I also have the old Dewalt 18V hybrid. I like the Dewalt a little better but the Ryobi is a very nice vacuum and with the larger batteries it will run a lot longer than the Dewalt. Like you said, the hose is the best part of the three gallon ;-) The hose on the six gallon is crap, but I may pick one up just because it is a more powerful vacuum. I just couldn't pass up the three gallon when it was free with the two 3Ah battery and quick charger kit. That may have been the best Ryobi deal I've ever come across. If I had to buy just one, I would still go with the three gallon because of the size. If I need more power, I have half a dozen corded shop vacs, but being cordless is just so darn convenient.
I had already bought mine prior to the 3Ah battery deal, so I was definitely kicking myself when I saw it on the list! I got the brushless impact instead, so eventually I'll get around to reviewing that too.
I've just brought this now in a few weeks time I'm taking mines to a fab work shop and get a bigger bottom part of the vacuum made out of steel more bigger plus on wheels be different plus always think outside the box
My vac, purchased Jan 2021, has a 2 point upper/lower mount for the utility nozzle. They watched your video. The problem in the utility nozzle occurs at the extreme rear "bottom" of the nozzle where the hose opening intersects the nozzle volume, forming a sharply angled shelf, seemingly intended to catch incoming debris (wood shavings!). Poor design Ryobi! This "caught" material will not dislodge in normal use and will impede further passage of incoming material. I cut the back off the nozzle and filled the shelf area, the trap, with silicone sealant. I reattached the nozzle back with a 350 degree hot glue gun (Ryobi one +). There is still a choke point at the hose inlet but blockage is much reduced, wood shavings no problem. My problem solved, this is a workhorse and very convenient. Portability is excellent! I used the previous Ryobi 18V vac for around 20 years and gave it hell. It finally died owing me not a cent. I feel this new one is better in every respect and more than satisfactory.
I use my cordless ryobi for my vct tile repair work it’s cordless which makes it easier to clean up the small pieces and the dirt better than a broom or brush before I apply the glue. Not using my corded vac and finding an outlet is safer for everyone.
I love the vac but it does hammer the batts the tools get lost before you know it might get round to fitting them inside but will have to make sure they don't get thrown away with the dust
I got this for my mobile detailing gig. I honestly didn’t look too hard into other brands, it just seemed like a good system to buy into. It’s definitely not the strongest vacuum but for those parking lot jobs it gets the job done.
Height is the thing I look at in equipment. Wondering if it will store under the bunk in a semi tractor. Trucker storage is always complicated . This looks like it may fit .that's why I have a 18 Volt ryobi 90 mph leaf blower slow at sweeping the reefer trailer out ,but easy to store in a semi tractor. Thank for the video !
I’m Australian. Socialism truly sucks! $55 for 24 beers pays for your next door neighbors family’s free doctor visits. While the rich corrupt investor of the medical industry ripping off the system from rebates and every other loophole (100% marked up price) Making Australia a unlivable place to live, and them very wealthy. (Corruption). The dirty snowball that’s rolling down the hill is getting bigger and bigger from inflation and socialist corruption, it’s unstoppable. I’m a single male that gives out rebates to the socialist Medicare system ( keeping it from collapsing which it already is bcse of the uncontrollable snowball of not being able to afford the cost) and once ppl like me dry out, you will have total collapse, and inflation through the roof. Just from a socialist corrupt Medicare system making billions billions a year profit for the investor while giving us third world healthcare.
Same in Sweden 1500 SEK ($150). 1 liter gasoline is $1.68 over here, that's $6.68 for a gallon. On top of all these ridicolous prices for everything, 30% of our salary is taken as tax.
Iv got overpriced health insurance since it started in Australia that’s my taxes going into Medicare I’m 54 and have been paying healthcare insurance for over 40 years bcse I Forgot to mention I pay 900 dollars every 3 months to keep Medicare afloat as a single male. As a single male I only give out rebates I don’t receive them, unlike the families in a socialist communist structure of Australia who thinks free stuff is free, maybe for them with a family it’s seems legitimate but it’s not, bcse they can’t afford the taxes and inflation of a socialist government. Australians can’t even afford housing anymore. All bcse of mass migration giving Australia a false economy on selling a economy on visas. Not to mention the visa economy is a trillion dollar industry on its own. Destroying a country and culture
Good power🌼 Very close to a small corded vac. Eats batteries fast, but, that explains the power. Overall a very good little vac, best cordless option, the little handheld ones are useless.
Oh darn, I have too many tools and need more batteries... Well shucks, now I have too many batteries and need more tools... Uh, looks like I have too many tools again... 😂
Like the vac, has good suction, do not like how the handle closes, closed my hand in it, when using it to help stand up, a few times looks, like it should flip the other way , the clips definitely don't stay in, always have to keep track of them and pick them up off the floor. Works good though.
Yes, I still recommend it. I've used it to clean vehicles quite a few times myself. It has a little trouble getting the dog hairs out that had "woven" themselves into the seat cushions, but gets everything else no problem.
@@DoresoomReviews just one more question what do you think of it compared to the 6 gallon I hear it's really loud and people are complaining about the hose on it do you have that one also and what do you think of that one do you think that one's worth getting over the 3 gallon
I haven't used the 6 gallon, sorry. I do have the 4.75 stainless one though. Having it on wheels with a longer hose is really nice. I basically just forget about the vacuum and drag the nozzle wherever I need it. The 4.75 gallon isn't quite as powerful as the 3 gallon though. The 6 gallon is their most powerful cordless shop vac.
IDK. Ill take a Larger Plug in only over the larger Ryobi one. but damn if I don't love this one. its the successor to the P3200 and its better in every way. and I don't know of you have tested dewalts or Milwaukee's. but this one has a better hose, more suction and is easier to empty and use... I bought 2 one for keep in car. and one for house... I freaking love it.
I haven't tested DeWalt's or Milwaukee's, but read somewhere that someone who had tested the M18 thought it was pretty close in performance to this Ryobi. However, I don't know if they did a static pressure test or just went by "feel". I do love the hose on this one!
Mine has a hook that holds the nozzle I think you pulled it to hard cause you thought it was latched but it has a hook to hold nozzle up as well as the holder
It's ok, but not great. I don't think I've ever used the blower feature on this for a real world application. Probably because I have the Ryobi high volume inflator too: ruclips.net/video/sKhvssNbhTc/видео.html
Ryobi website can not give you a straight answer this can suck unto 45cfm and the 6 gallon model unto 85cfm and they can't give you a average runtime on batteries with these cordless vacuums makes you not wanna waste your money and there reconditioned products are crap. And Milwaukee has better warranty and they have free Fedex there and back to you if you need Repair work Awesome.
They really screwed up on this one. They should have made it hybrid with an AC plug like the stereo for example. Very dissapointing since all I hear and read is very short runtimes.
This is a high current draw tool which would require a huge heavy power brick to convert from AC to DC. Take a look at all of their hybrid tools - they are all low current draw.
I bought one as an idea to suck up occasional pet accidents from carpet. Imagine my surprise when the dog urine was blowing out the exhaust. Traumatized me from using it. Wonder why it would do that?
I've had smaller wet/dry vacs mist me a little bit too, but it's only been water for me luckily. I think it's because the water surface is closer to the exhaust port on vacuums with smaller tanks.
The filter says that it is wet\dry and it has the internal ball that all wet\dry vacs have....I have over 45 Ryobi + one tools and bats....I was happy to see that chain brake on my chainsaw even though they say it does not kick back.
@@DoresoomReviews thank you for the speedy response. In your opinion or rather what is the highest CFM rated cordless wet/dry vac? Regardless of how many batteries or brand. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Probably the new DeWalt Flexvolt cordless dust extractor at 125 CFM. They don't list how much water lift it maxes out at though. The DeWalt is over double what I believe was the previous leader of the Ridgid 3 gallon 18V at 60 CFM. Good observation about the weakness of the nozzle attachement clamp. If needed, velcro can be a solution.
I debated between this and the 6 gallon. Got the 6. Don't regret it for a second. Possibly my favorite Ryobi tool.
Have you had any issue with the 6 gal?
Your reviews are the absolute best. You are a very smart dude. Cheers!

The convenience of cordless but the power of corded is what I’m looking for-this unit seems to be a good compromise.

I made a mistake, sorry - the 6 gallon isn't brushless.
The Ridgid 3 gallon has MUCH better suction.
I've seen it does on paper, but haven't used it myself.

I think the 2 gallon Milwaukee one is taller but narrower.
