@@kurtkohen6668 well, he sung the songs well, and he explained the writing of them well in this interview, that's all you can expect from singer songwriters...
Donovan is so awesome. I smiled throughout this entire video. Rare moments like these where a person can just sit and be happy..you can’t put a dollar amount on that.
I was so lucky to see him in Boston at age 18 in 1971, and still listening and loving his great songs at 71 as 2024 comes to a close. A truly underrated singer/songwriter. "Mellow Yellow" and "Sunshine Superman" were 2 of the best albums of the 60s. They were the first 'Fusion' albums, incorporating Rock, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Jazz and Indian Music before anyone knew what 'Fusion" was.
I LOVE you and your music and I listen to you weekly!!!! I'm 56 and have been a transcendental meditator since I was 8 when my parents and I became vegetarian and meditators
If you don't know Legend of a girl child Linda from the Sunshine Superman album you might want to check it out as it is one of Donovan's most beautiful songs
One of the most underrated artists in rock history
john lennon said of donovan, "look, the man's a poet". respect.
And for good reason!!!
I agree!
he was a burn out. People raise these average slobs to something guru. There wasnt an original thought in that pot heads noodle ever.

Wow, that vibrato is natural, I always thought that was a studio effect.
Me too!!
all his personal trait
It’s not a vibrato. He’s wiggling his voice.
It was a recording. 😂
@@rebekahbaylus8606 Are you implying he was lip-syncing? Wrong.
Donovan is loaded with talent, and a great storyteller to boot
Talent and charisma.
True genius. Underrated songwriter. Underrated vocalist. Underrated rock icon.
If you step back, research Donovan’s music catalog, imo he’s ridiculously underrated!!
Donovan IS what people THINK Dylan was
I was listening in 1969 and I'm still listening. I especially love A Gift From a Flower to a Garden.
Great album, so many good songs.
Was just listening to it last night
One of my all time favorite albums.
Me too
he's still got it after all these yrs. Just an acoustic guitar, open mic, and his voice
Greatest artist of the 60's, but this is 30 years ago, mate. Cheers!
Donovan is so awesome. I smiled throughout this entire video. Rare moments like these where a person can just sit and be happy..you can’t put a dollar amount on that.
Tony?
so hard not to smile and enjoy the sound
2023, and I'm still boppin' to this.
Catch the Wind, an absolutely beautiful song. 5:58
Wow! Such a pleasure to see Donovan in this interview.
This was a great mini-concert from a legendary rocker.
loved donovan since i heard sunshine superman in 1966.
I always thought that voice vibrato was some kind of studio trick with a delay or something. Thats amazing.

Atlantis
Cannot agree more. I've gone on a deep Donovan dive the last year or so. I was 11 in '71. SO many treasures in there.
Donovan is a class act of a folk musician.
His Jersey Thursday and Catch The Wind are so beautiful
I thoroughly enjoyed that more than almost any Howard Stern interview
WOW HE,S STILL GOT IT, SOUNDS GREAT AND LOOKS GREAT
well, this was a quarter of a century ago
Linda the muse deserves praise for inspiring some of the most original pop music of the mid/late 60s.
She was also gorgeous!
She left him for Brian Jones/
I think the actual writers of those music deserve the praise, but she can get a little bit
"Season of The Witch" always did it for me. Incredible talent.
The entire Cosmic Wheels LP was a masterpiece!
I love Season Of The Witch, that is an early jam song and I love it❤❤❤
Pure artist, poet and performer! Donovan killed it!
Donovan is legendary! He went with the Beatles to India. How many people can say that? Not many. He has such a clear voice and sounds great here! 👏🏻🎸😎

Brilliance
Love that he can get a Leslie sound with his vocal vibrato
I Concur Jonathan ...
I thought the same thing. Such a unique voice.
I was gonna say that 😊
It's amazing that he controlled the timing of it to match the rythmn perfectly!
Donovan is terrific.
Donovan was one of so many great singers in the 60. His songs are as fresh today as they were in the 60s.
He still sounds great! He is the Hurdy Gurdy Man.
This is practically 30 years ago.
I am blown away! Remembering his greatest hits album from childhood.
An incredible singer and songwriter! Love all of his music.
Wow..his voice is so hus own..still love his poetry and music..
That was a serious flashback to the 60s
Incredible
Such memorable songs...grew up with them!
I'll always be forever grateful to Howard for introducing me to Donovan's music.

Really awesome voice especially at his age.
A Giant of a composer, singer, guitarist, Spiritual Shaman! Viva Donovan!❤
A troubadour.
He looks and sounds so well. An original and a great talent.

Donovan super songwriter and all emotions...still moves me...
Sunshine Superman is such a great song...thanks for posting this one, Howard and folks...
Great Performance!
Donovan had the gift. I hope he's been well compensated for all these songs that will stand the test of time after we're all dead and buried.
Donovan was one of my greatest music heroes in the end of the 60 ties .A very original singer and a fine guitarplayer .
I saw Donovan open for Yes in Germany 1978 or so.
FANTASTIC show!!!!!
Really surprised me

Sunshine Superman first song I heard on radio!!
That was great!
Donovan is Genius and Timeless.
The Beatles loved Donovan , he’s just great
He had SO MANY good songs. I believe Catch the Wind was first, he was “ folk” at the time.
more talent in one finger than any of the modern stars for singing, playing and writing.
Always top of the charts artist for me! I wore a few albums of his.
donovan ~ just a beautiful soul
Wow is all I can say ❤
What a "Way Back" Machine! I just heard "Mello Yellow" yesterday on the radio. Backstories on most any subjects can be very interesting.
This is fantastic. Love the sound of his guitar. A great dose of nostalgia.
The voice has held up well.
The voice is Gold pure Gold 🥇 the 5th Beatle he should've been just so talented and he was on Futurama 🤣👍 Atlantis story lol

I have always loved Donovan.
Damn well amazing , wow!!!
Played like a 60's hit machine....incredible!

I love Dylan, Cohen, Woody, Waits etc but Donovan was a tremendous influence on the direction I would walk in music. He's fantastic. 👌
Donovan is so cool 🤘Rock and Roll 🌸🌼
Well the hippies developed from the beats. Donovan is a beat as he states, pioneered the transition from Beats to Hippies. Beat no doubt.
way greatness...!!
Just Phenomenal....................................
He still sounds phenomenal
Amazing whenever a guest gets a word in edgewise the way Howard asks questions.
Love his voice
