Mr. Buddy Guy's genius shows not only in his supernatural guitar work, but in the way he unselfishly promotes the up and coming talents in his craft! His love of others, as well as his art, to me, makes him THE MASTER GENIUS!!! You just can't help but love him back!
Buddy Guy is awesome , but in this gig he hardly played a note and was just showing off !.. with the backing he has on stage , you can't fail !..It is just an organised promo
reply to gustthebroken2: (I agree completely with trimntim) So what, the guy has paid his dues, and deserves to play with great people and enjoy headlining and being in the show. I always enjoy his shows.
Honestly, I don't care about the shakiness. This is an amazing tribute to the Blues!!! Buddy Guy, Quinn Sullivan, and Ana Popovic. Words can't express!
These very young artists keep the sound alive for us blues lovers! with the passing of each legend we seem to find a artist with same passion. Much love to Buddy, he seems to seek them out, or they migrate to him. Either way, the music lives on!
Buddy as Mick Jagger would say, buddy you are the best.seen buddy in Ottawa, ont in the nineties.he was amazing of course.he can make that guitar talk.love that buddy guy smile.
Ana only female to be asked to play on the Hendrix tour 3x. I have seen her many times. When she really gets in the zone. She can old her own with any guitar player! I remember her touring in just a basic van with her band. YES! She paid her dues! Plus she a wonderful person!
Got to see him with Buddy a couple years ago. What a treat! I'd like to live long enough to see him in another 30 years, but that isn't going to happen.
WOW! I just heard about Quinn Sullivan and found this video, I've been a fanatic for Ana since I saw her 3 years ago. Amazing Video! Trilogy and Midnight Highway are amazing albums!
Very nice post ,thank you so much. I haven't seen this before and I am a big fan of Buddy Guy. He is known for Introducing new talent to audiences. An honorable man. Thanks again Pam...
Well, he starts off by putting the guitar behind his back and making noise, then puts it between his legs and makes noise then drags it across the stage and makes noise then slaps it with a towel and makes noise... and he continues with that theme for the whole performance. That's how he keeps up.
Quinn Sullivan: an authentic blues guitar virtuoso Anna Popovic: only has one "guitar game," an *A* game Buddy Guy: possibly both the last and the greatest of the old-school electric bluesmen The three of them on the same stage? Got cold chills running down my spine watching this. Outstanding!
This is the difference between Stevie Ray Vaughan and everyone else. Everyone else over plays the solos and goes crazy on their solos. Stevie Ray Vaughan always stayed in the rhythm of the song like Jimi Hendrix .
I'm shore,It wasn't Hendrix.this is Blues baby.not fucking buzz words or who the little shit got high with the first time there is no wrong in Blues. some are slower then others That's all.
Technically this song is mis-titled. The intro is from "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" "Voodoo Chile" was the title given to the first recorded long blues jam with Steve Winwood on organ, and Jack Casady from the Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna on bass. Noel Redding wasn't fond of those late night jam sessions when Jimi would bring in a lot of outsiders. He was there the next day for "Slight Return"
Hahaha.... Buddy was just crapping on everything @ 5:45 .... Poor Ana is like what is going on? ... I thought we were playing music, not making noise. She was trying to trade licks with the kid on the left but he didn't get it.
I'd have to agree. I shaved my legs for this? Anna respects the blues. It's something to write about in the diary. How many outdoor concerts have you been to with name brand bands that showed up drunk or stoned or tired? Before Warren Zevon got sober I saw him and it was white knuckle. Deep Purple was just embarrassing. I saw them with Montrose and Montrose blew them away. Deep Purple even minus Richey was good when they were serious and I have to say like a lot of bands the keyboard guys are the guys who went to music school.
The kid seems the weak link no one could get into a Rhythm. Maybe because he started it way to fast I’m sure a good player but have heard this tune sound better
The old master showing the kids how to do it. I could wrong but I think Jimi saw Buddy once and well maybe got some showmanship from him waaaay back when.
I had MyFirst & Only Live Experience with Jimi Hendrix as a 12 YearOld Kid in Stockholm 1969. 2 See These 3 Glorius GuitarHeroes Makes L!fe Worth L!vin´Again ; >>
Well, he starts off by putting the guitar behind his back and making noise, then puts it between his legs and makes noise then drags it across the stage and makes noise then slaps it with a towel and makes noise... and he continues with that theme for the whole performance. That's how he keeps up.
The 14 year old plays with a lot of spirit. Yes, he's playing it too fast but that's what nerves and adrenaline will do. It's amazing me where such a young player can play with so much soul and emotion. That kind of soul and emotion come with a life's experiences.
First it appears that it couldn’t get any better than Quinn showing his talent, then Anna gets everyone’s attention by being the most beautiful hot sexy mess that plays better than young Quinn. Then the professor shows them how to walk the dog (err, guitar) then he wipes it clean. Buddy G ...G for genius!
Man I think this is a fricken traversty of a version...Jimi and SRV and Muddy would turn in their graves...I feel for Buddy but I guess he's getting well paid...Ana needs to go to phrasing school and I will lighten up on Quinn but someone better get to him before he goes off on a career of crap playing...feel, soul, control, speed, tone, power - I dont see any of it here I am afraid.
Mohaka1 Very surprised no one has called bullshit on your comment yet. Guess I'll do the honors. SRV would've been honored to share the stage with this talented woman and young man. Just saw Anna couple of days ago. Very talented and professional in every way. Coming from someone who saw Stevie 3 times and my all time favorite.
Im actually a fan of all three of these players but this was overplaying to an extreme. Dont know about quinn sulivan and the career of crap comment though.
Mohaka1 > Fuck off. These three were having a great time. It's called a show. They're putting on a show. Get the fuckin' point? Quinn just looked like he didn't know what to do. But Ana got it. Buddy was having a fucking blast. You got anything better to show off your skills? If so, put up or shut up. Keyboard critics...👎
The only thing that would have made this better is if Ana played her Strat with her ass like Buddy did! Ana and Quinn were in the presence of guitar/blues royalty. If I was on stage with Buddy guy, I'd be nervous as fuck.
just not feeling this ... just too much noise ...not enough soul ... all good to great musician yet only trying to play up for the audience . not for the deep soulful music feeling that the blues are about.
Paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix is fine, but Buddy is not a substitute Jimi; no one is; not the late SRV; not the late, great Gary Moore; no one;, and Buddy should stop trying to be.
Hahaha.... Buddy was just crapping on everything @ 5:45 .... Poor Ana is like what is going on? ... I thought we were playing music, not making noise. She was trying to trade licks with the kid on the left but he didn't get it.

Brilliant bum solo too!

Buddy having so much fun. Great performances all.

Thank You Mr Buddy Guy !!! WOW A great group of Talent...
Buddy is a living legend
Got to see him with Buddy a couple years ago. What a treat! I'd like to live long enough to see him in another 30 years, but that isn't going to happen.
Buddy Guy sounds as good today as he did in the late 1960s. Music keeps you young!
WOW! I just heard about Quinn Sullivan and found this video, I've been a fanatic for Ana since I saw her 3 years ago. Amazing Video! Trilogy and Midnight Highway are amazing albums!
Nice shooting!!! Thank you!!!
Nice selection! Thanks, Pam:)

Donnie Maxwell You are most welcome!! Buddys' beautiful soul and smile are as contagious as his music!!

magicians at work. Simply amazing!!
for the guys that gave this a thumbs down I'd like to know why you didn't like it? I thought this was totally off the hook.
David Hoover SURE is off the chain!!

Buddy can say more with just a few notes, that’s the cool thing about the masters, same with BB King. Those young artists are absolutely killer too.
Mr Nice Guy's smile is priceless...
What a blessing to see...
And then of course there's Buddy. Maddening the way it is so simple for him. It simply cannot be that easy, can it?
Wow jimi you are alive
Groovy Ana played in Felton on Wednesday
Chenoweth she's always a motivated fun concert. She lives in S Cali somewhere.
Jimi Hendrix said his number one influence was Buddy Guy ! If you get a chance visit Buddy Guy's , House of Blues in Chicago .
Ever notice how the greats got that way by the notes they DON'T play, and the way they play the ones they do?
Ana is killing it!
Peter Bradley HELLA YEAH !!
Young dude is too
I met that kid back when he was 10 in Westmont ill . playing at the fest .
Nothing FINER!
This woman is awesome !
Buddy is just the best.

How does Buddy keep this up at his age?!?
+Lawrence Robinson - not to be irreverent, but I believe that he still "gets a lot".
+AndyGinterBlues Yeah, no doubt!

They are playing all the songs way too fast
Like for Ana
Sounds as though this has been sped up. Tempo is off.
Guy came for tea
oh that old guy with the hat is such a showoff!
The sound balance is really bad. I'love to hear this with good sound.
I
and the hot serbian one in red or orange
👍❤❤Love the look on Ana's face while she's jammin'. Looks like she's making love to the guitar. You can hear it. You can feel it.❤❤👍
The only and best Voodoo Chile was played by SRV
She has it
Better than sex
buddys ass plays the guitar better then he does
Is it just me or was it a bit hurried? Blues needs to be slow and moody.
more i hear this, mote i hate bullshit r'b hip hop and rap!
