Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Charlotte
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions is an indie band comprising Hope Sandoval from the dormant band Mazzy Star and Colm O'Ciosoig, formerly of My Bloody Valentine. Their first album Bavarian Fruit Bread was released in 2001. Bass player Alan Browne from Irish band Dirt Blue Gene played bass and co-wrote on some songs on Bavarian Fruit Bread.
Hope Sandoval (born June 24, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter who was lead singer for Mazzy Star and later Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions.
After 1996, Hope began a career of working with other bands. She collaborated with a series of artists, including Air, Bert Jansch, Death in Vegas, Le Volume Courbe, Richard X, The Chemical Brothers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Twilight Singers, Vetiver, and Massive Attack.

QUOTE: "When he came out ...to record with us,it was unbelievable to be in the same room with him.I mean, he's a genius.It was very emotional for me.After the sessions,I sat in my hotel room listening to the recordings and crying."

Hope has given me so much hope throughout the years. I feel like I can feel free to just be my true self and show my true essence. No social pressures to impress, just love and understanding for all living beings and myself.

I love Hope Sandoval and Mazzy Star. Been listening to her music obsessively since I was a teenager. Her voice still moves me to tears. This is my favourite song off BFB. If you like this song, I would recommend Sober Moon by Ali Murray. So sad and dreamy and beautiful and atmospheric. I wish Hope would hurry up and release another album!

It should be noted Bert Jansch plays guitar on this song. He also plays on Butterfly Mornings" from the same album "Bavarian Fruit Bread".I'm sure Bert wrote the guitar parts while Hope wrote lyrics & melody. So those two songs are really Hope/Jansch collaborations, the Warm Inventions being rather irrelevant to them.A 3rd Hope/Jansch collab made it onto Bert's '02 album "Edge of a Dream". The song's "All That Remains".It's my fave of the 3 showing off both Bert & Hope at their best.Haunting!

All these songs create a wonderful vibe. There is plenty of diversity in the music; a credit to the musicians involved. I feel like I wandered into a new country, and the culture there has created this music.

If you know the full story of what took place at that show you'd know that whooooole account is out of context. She says "I don't want you to love me, I just want you to shut the fuck up" and people actually cheered her comment given what had been taking place.
Go to her official website and read some of the accounts of this show--Boston, 2002 tour. Even after putting up w/hecklers at that show she still met w/fans afterwards. 100% class.
I hope that on the '09 tour it goes better for her.
That sounds more in-line with Hope.
I hope she hits Phoenix during this tour so I can meet her and have her sign some promos.

Hey, 42 isn't that old anyway. She has many years ahead of her as long as she takes care of herself, and her music sells. Her music is mellow, so she isn't straining her voice.

This song is fantastic! The whole lp is. That being said, let's not use it as an excuse to knock Skins. The series has fine taste in music.

She's an East L.A. girl, she isn't going to put up with any crap. :)
It's a British (and I think American) TV programme about indie/hipster teenagers who do drugs, get into fights, run away from home, and generally do the whole "YOLO" thing. Alot of people like it, not my cup of coffee though.
This is the woman whose voice and face can turn me into goo!

I just read this about her. Regardless, she ahs a pretty voice.
