    I'm telling you right now that there are a lot of different brand of boats out there today but none of them are built like a Ranger. I witness first hand how well a Ranger are built.
    A few years back during a tournament 2 Ranger boats were involved in a serious accident. Even with the damage that both boats had they were both able to return to the dock under their own power. When we all got back to the dock people there actually thought they were filming a commercial and that the boats were just props.
    If you know somebody who has one ask them to take you out if you don't know anybody with one wait until your local dealer has a demo day. Most dealerships have one event a year and I'm sure if you live closer to the factory they have something more often. Once you ride in one you will see the difference immediately. It's just more of a solid feeling under your feet.
    And no I am not sponsored by Ranger boats. I am just a huge fan and a long time customer. And I wanted to share my experience with this brand. If it was a horrible boat I would let you know but that's not the case. I know you can buy cheaper but you honestly get what you pay for. It would be well worth saving up a little bit more money top buy a quality boat.

      david frank I seen something similar to that. I saw two men in a Ranger hit a pole that was actually a pole from an old tug boat that has been sunk for years now. Most people knew where this pole was and they usually kept a flag on it. But someone didn’t do their job in putting the flag on the pole before this particular tournament. The Tournament was being held in a large river in California. Anyhow, these two men hit this pole running about 50 mph. The men come out of the boat and flipped on the water for about 35 yards. The pole went about 6 ft up the center of the Ranger, crushing the front end. Don’t ask me how, but that Ranger was crushed and full of water but still made it back to dock under it’s power.

    How are the wiring harnesses made if the engine choice, gauges , trolling motor etc may have different wiring requirements

    • @HomeGrownPyro1
      @HomeGrownPyro1 5 лет назад

      Because every part/accessory has their own connectors and adapters and they only have so many options...so they just mass produce each connector with specific lengths of wire attached and when the boat is coming through assembly, they grab whatever sections that boat calls for and star zip tying and connecting the wires into a bundle to form the harness.
      I would imagine they prob have a template too for every style harness configuration they use and the wiring dept grabs all the needed sections for the particular harness and starts laying them on the template in their specific locations and then zip ties them all together. Prob is a fairly quick process for the experienced workers

    • @BabyCharlotteschannel
      @BabyCharlotteschannel 3 года назад

      I'm sure it needs a LOT more than just the floor.. better figure on doing the stringers and transom along with updating the rigging.
      I'd also get rid of any foam along the bottom of the hull or anywhere it's likely to get wet often because no matter what the company that makes the foam says, they ALL absorb and hold water adding weight and helping any wood get wet and rot..

    Amazed they don’t use robots for the more labor intensive parts of production? Ergonomics issues galore. The auto industry would not be in business if they didn’t automate decades ago. Automation is for quality consistency… not to displace workers.

    • @gsh341
      @gsh341 2 года назад

      Fiberglass is a lot harder to use robots on. It's something that takes a keen eye to judge when the fiberglass is laid up properly. There can't be any air bubbles and there can't be too much epoxy as it's the fiberglass and not the epoxy that gives fiberglass parts their strength. Air bubbles and excessive epoxy make the parts brittle and subject to failure. Even blue water sailboats and powerboats are built completely by hand.
      These videos will explain why fiberglass boats are built the way they are.

      Boats have way less components and less engineering compared to cars yet they cost way more than cars. The manual labor is the cost factor.
