I just saw my first Cybertruck and was not impressed by the build quality. The stainless quarter panel over the rear wheels was wavy, and the fingerprints would drive me nuts. Panel gaps were off. The 48v harness and steer by wire is cool, but the aluminum castings are brittle, and can fail during rough towing. I wish Tesla would have built a more conventional truck, instead of a fridge on wheels. Hate to criticize, but another issue I would have is the limited wheel articulation when off roading in the lifted mode. I have seen videos where the Cybertruck lifted it's wheels into the air over small obstacles. My lifted Jeep JK has way more wheel articulation and is like a cat compared to the stiff low articulating Cybertruck suspension when off-roading. By the way, the sales will tank once the Tesla fan boys pre orders are used up. No normal guy that has owned a pickup will buy one. This thing will join the Ford Edsel in automotive history.
I rather think this shows how bonded cell packs are a long term issue. It’s great if they work long term; but if one component fails - the pack is not repairable. So if the truck suffers a massive shunt, or a cell suffers premature wear; it’s a dead truck. Can’t be good design. It might be efficient when it works. But it’s not even like a cheap appliance you junk when anything significant fails. It’s an expensive vehicle that is really costly to fix! I’m not a Cybertruck hater either, I quite like it, and it’ll look very cool in a military camo wrap!
They can suffer with corrosion if the air cannot get to the Stainless steel... So you may want to do some long term checking in temperate and tropical environments.
@@RussellFineArt It's not an assumption. It is a fact of physics. GMs experience can't change that. The truck weighs 1 ton more. That means tires will wear faster, suspension parts will experience more stress, and forces in off road situations will be more extreme.

The battery system is not repairable so you have to replace the entire battery and scrap the original failed unit.
You do realise that this is yet another reason that nobody should buy a Tesla? Any EV actually... The sales figures will prove you to be an idiot over next couple of years... All EVs
not enough actual information other than some cell denting (no definition on what that is) has been found on some unlisted number of cybercrook's and the initial plan is to replace the entire pack on those so they can learn more about how why and what happened. It sounds like a very small number of trucks and it sounds that it is not dangerous just some sort of fault issue on some packs. We will find out what happened sometime soon as well as how many trucks this effects. But from all the articles i have looked at it sounds like it is a very small number of trucks. Again we shall see in the next few days it if is a nothing issue with a new model of vehicle or something wrong with a production day or so of batteries or if it is a larger issue.. It also sounds like it is something that can be detected by the software itself. We shall see. And main stream media will announce it is the end of Tesla.
Batteries potted in so the battery is not repairable forcing the owner to buy a whole new battery rather than replacing bad cells. One of many of Tesla's anti-consumer practices. If you are not for right to repair, you are on the wrong side.
Batteries are at a point where replacement isnt really a thing. Even first generation Teslas were designed to last 400,000 miles. The latest tech (based on Jeffrey Dahns work) can do 20,000 cycles .. 54 yrs daily cycles. This is why the top manufacturers are not designing for repair .. it is too rare to worry about.
Except the owners didn't have to pay for the replacement batteries here. You know this. Why lie? There are many terrible things about Elon Musk, so why choose lying? WHY?
Self driving doesn't get distracted, impaired and has 360 degree awareness. It is better than us, but it doesn't see everything yet, will it? Probably.
How can you tell if a cell has dents in them in a sealed, gooped battery pack? The CyberTracker has had at least six recalls, which is typically what car makers do these days, put them to market before they beta test. I don't think the Cybertruck will make it down under, due to price and I don't think VicRoads and so on would allow them on the road.
Grow up Fan boy Sam. Sales are a flop, considering pre orders and its way short of promised range and price. Saying its the best selling BEV truck means very little, as thats a super low bar. LOL Basically, not many are into BEV trucks at this point.
I have delivered many EV's hundreds of KM many times.....trust me on this if ANY GM EV says you have 260KM range you really have 50% or 130km if it says 400km you have 200km....... every time. never more than 3% variation. Go figure. GM is worse than the rest of the world when if comes to honest range.
I like EVs but have also found typically the actual range is a less than predicted range. Doesn't help that I test how fast they can go from zero to 60.
C'mon Sam, if this was GM, you'd be trashing them, BIG TIME!! Tesla screwed the pooch on these, and that's a fact. Another fact is, Cybertruck orders have fallen off a cliff and aren't selling much, at all! The Cybertruck is 100% a Musk design and will go down as the worst mistake of Tesla as it's uglier than sin and nowhere near the specs at the unveiling.
I think this is problematic for recycling . The other problem that Sam has said it makes it basically impossible to repair . It's a bit wasteful. The Ford lightning the battery has separate modules that can be replaced which they had to do in some of their models . So these Teslas out of warranty the only way to address a battery problem is the most expensive way to solve which is replacement . So considering that buying a used Tesla out of warranty is a bit more risky over battery packs that are more serviceable . Tesla has made the decision not to have a serviceable battery pack which is a shame as they are a popular used EV brand . If you have a cell problem and need to replace the whole battery pack that is still very costly would make the car mostly a throw away as with many things in are society . The desire to make long lasting is not on the list for Tesla . They want you to buy new new say every decade at most
Has no pact on recycling the packs are ground in to black mass not disassembled which was the point it make the pack recyclable but it cannot be broken down for the reseller to make bank.on Tesla's work and open they to extra court case and bad publicity
"Case-in-point: Tesla recalled the most vehicles of any automaker in 2024 at 5,135,991. But the EV manufacturer only issued 16 total recalls, compared to the 72 recalls by fellow American automaker Stellantis and the 67 recalls by Ford. So with that in mind, here are the ten automakers with the most recalled cars in America for 2024."
Believe it or not I witness a smash and grab in Melbourne where a rubbish truck reversed into the Shop window. and gained entry, yes I called the police and I thought I could actually jump in my car and follow the truck down the road but later on I thought what’s the point? The Australian government don’t do anything why should I ?
I really dislike when people mention efficiency as if that will give you a better experience than more range. Range is the only downside to EVs. The notion that people rarely drive that far is a cop out also, when Tesla makes cars that go from 0-60 in 2 seconds. Which is unnecessary and which is actually useful. I love Tesla and just want to see the range improved.
Ok you pop off and change the laws of physics, or you can wait for them to do the work with the existing ones. It's not a cop out to point out you are asking for some you don't need. People want everything they have and new stuff doesn't matter they never use it see the passage sit adjustment button wasn't used people kicked off for months, even the haters have forgotten about that non issue now.
What in the world are on about? Just a quick search on " cybertruck catches fire after accident" will bring up a slew of incidents where it catches this doomed truck bursts into flames after an accident. The number of recalls on this truck should be an indications of how poorly built it is. Please stop the with the fanboism! I like your channel but I will continue to challenge you when I hear something unrealistic.
@@vicentevaldez1696 what are you talking about? Why not do some actual research and compare the number of recalls, not OTA, to other car manufacturers and you will see Tesla is way below the average.

It worth it?
They will throw them out! Do you realize they make those cells in house! They cost him nothing! They are still learning and this is a small cost for the safety of others.
🇦🇺 order still in from 2019. Mods for Australian archaic laws maybe 2027 arrival?

So you may want to do some long term checking in temperate and tropical environments.

the cybertruck is 💩💩💩 i cant believe anyone would want one they made like 💩
Go NIO!!!!!
The problem with the Silverado is the weight. A vehicle that heavy wears everything out faster and is more fragile in off roading situations.
That's your assumption, not fact. GM has been making millions of trucks for over a century, I think they know how to make the Silverado.
@@RussellFineArt It's not an assumption. It is a fact of physics. GMs experience can't change that.
The truck weighs 1 ton more. That means tires will wear faster, suspension parts will experience more stress, and forces in off road situations will be more extreme.
@@BrianJacobsonum no it's actually built to haul things so no it won't degrade empty
The price you pay, so they can claim more range. Affects payload capacity as well.
Can't be sold in Europe, another reason it won't?
Considering the fact that there have been explosions of Cybertruck batteries, including one today in Las Vegas, you really don't want one. Well, I certainly don't. You're better off with a regular Hi lux ute in OZ, believe me.
Fake news. Bomb exploded not battery pack
The one in Las Vegas was due to fireworks in the truck bed. The bed also contained the blast, none of the windows of the hotel were broken ...
O.P. couldn’t be more wrong. Are you really that STUPID! Even the police have said the Cybertruck design saved lives, by containing the explosion and forcing most of it upwards.
👍👍
Just saw one, looked dirty? The bed was smaller than my Tacoma?
Bd is 4x6 .. so about the same as others in its class but it hauls over 2000 lbs and tows 11000. Buy what works for you man. Most people use trucks like SUVs … personally Ill buy a CT because I prefer EVs for their power, quiet ride, no smell, no shaking, and they don’t kill me and my family with toxic fumes.

the old adage, if you build it people will come.... people will buy anything and everything
I haven’t watched the video yet but based on the last 20+ video titles let me guess the main points.
a) Battery wasn’t made in China
b) Tesla (the only non-Chinese car company that stands a chance) needs to move all their production to China
c) China is awesome
d) the best way to save the environment is to replace your perfectly working solar systems for new ones when they are still working and buy a new car at every opportunity (so long as they are electric and Chinese)
d) if you are investing in anything other than Tesla or Chinese car/battery companies then you are a fool
Let’s see if I’m right, but later tonight I have other videos to watch first.
The battery system is not repairable so you have to replace the entire battery and scrap the original failed unit.
The Tesla Cybertruck is a total fail, you already can buy slightly used ones for under 70k
You do realise that this is yet another reason that nobody should buy a Tesla? Any EV actually... The sales figures will prove you to be an idiot over next couple of years...
All EVs
i'm waiting next year to see where the $7.5K tax credit falls. either or i will get one
not enough actual information other than some cell denting (no definition on what that is) has been found on some unlisted number of cybercrook's and the initial plan is to replace the entire pack on those so they can learn more about how why and what happened.
Insurance companies will not accept repaired batteries . Boo Hoo.
WHY?
This is being repaired for free.
@@elainebradley8213 Yes, as it is still under warranty. What happens when its out of warranty?
In Denmark Tesla can't even make sign recognition work. So I would definitely prefer something like VW ACC in my car over Auto Pilot.

MAGA(t) Wagon
I have delivered many EV's hundreds of KM many times.....trust me on this if ANY GM EV says you have 260KM range you really have 50% or 130km if it says 400km you have 200km....... every time. never more than 3% variation. Go figure. GM is worse than the rest of the world when if comes to honest range.
I like EVs but have also found typically the actual range is a less than predicted range. Doesn't help that I test how fast they can go from zero to 60.
lol that was a good laugh
The cyberflop…happy to see the fascist and the crap he sells failing
C'mon Sam, if this was GM, you'd be trashing them, BIG TIME!! Tesla screwed the pooch on these, and that's a fact. Another fact is, Cybertruck orders have fallen off a cliff and aren't selling much, at all! The Cybertruck is 100% a Musk design and will go down as the worst mistake of Tesla as it's uglier than sin and nowhere near the specs at the unveiling.
Getmental health help asap
They want you to buy new new say every decade at most
Whilst Fords battery packs are assembled in modules, Ford does not sell individual modules only complete battery packs
Has no pact on recycling the packs are ground in to black mass not disassembled which was the point it make the pack recyclable but it cannot be broken down for the reseller to make bank.on Tesla's work and open they to extra court case and bad publicity
@DaBooster They were replacing defective modules under warranty.
Number 1? Tesla
And 95 percent of those recalls where done with an over the air software update- meaning it was fixed will the person was at home
Insurance companies will not accept repaired batteries .
Really?
what insurance company will not accept a valid repair?
@@chlistens7742 There are no valid repairs .
If any car insurance company does not want to insure a repaired battery , the other insurance companies will follow suit.
EVs are a problem period.
Wow this is horrible!Game over for Tesla!

I'm sure the taxpayers will foot the bill for this in tax deductions by Tesla.
It saves money.
Ok you pop off and change the laws of physics, or you can wait for them to do the work with the existing ones.
