It has been a great year for watching salmon splash about . there have been so many fish in our rivers compared to previous years ......... long may it continue cooler water hopefully will give us some hope 😉. Cheers Iain 🥃
Always nice to get away for a few days fishing, and the most fish ive seen showing on your videos, seeing fish doesnt mean easy fishing as that proves, but nice to see, tight lines for the remainder of the season Iain.
I have still to edit another couple from the Thurso Shaun Trying to find time with all that live throws and also the lure of the river rather than sitting at a computer Cheers Iain. 🥃
Wow, Iain, there were so many fish to aim at! Shame Ray lost his fish... you must have been expecting a pull every cast... tight lines for next time! 🎣😉👍 Cheers James 🥃
I have had so many fish from that pool James .... also had days like that before ........ the water temperature was around 20C and it certainly made fishing difficult Cheers Iain.
Well done Jamie no need to look on RUclips as you will be able to replay catching that fish in technicolour from memory for years to come. I remember my first salmon as if it was yesterday well done and hope that you get your second soon. Cheers Iain. 🥃
He Is my brother and he never listens to me I offered him a stick on the first day but he told me to stick it ............ It lay in the back of the motor all week. he fell again before lunch time in the Brawl pool. I did mention the problems in the pools and Roy found them. Cheers Iain. 🥃
makes me appreciate the one and only salmon i have had this season for my 3 trips out on our local water and it certainly adds to the mystery . ours is a tiny spate burn , rises fast and runs low faster and records less than 5 salmon per year on average . the mystery is that our burn usually looks dead , dark peaty water and never seen a salmon so much as poke its nose out above the water to betray its presence. i have had 3 nice seatrout and one nice fresh summer grilse and i never ever saw a fish until one took my fly. contrast with this video and your river looks stuffed with agitated and restless fish , i look on with a watering mouth but apparently these fish were not takers ? a very strange enigma , perhaps this perpetual investigation into our quarries whims is why we do this
That's a good average Captain not many anglers catch a fish third time out I love your other passion it is amazing the artefacts that are still to be found. my son recently acquired an old axe head cheers Iain. 🥃
looking back at the day when we were having our liquid starter we decided that it was a good day watching so many fish splash about and decided to try harder still had three days to go on the Thurso Cheers Iain. 🥃
The fish always has the last word no matter how hard we try . we can change flys and tactics but sometimes we are only spectators it's good to see so many fish in our rivers Stuart Next time 😉. Cheers Iain. 🥃
I don't think that Roy would reach the lie from standing on the bank Geordie as you know you have to get the fly to land as close to the opposite bank as poss. I hope all is well with everyone in and around Halkirk Cheers Iain. 🥃 Ps thanks for looking after us 🎣👍
I had tried various cast and retrieves Tam I would bore the pants off everyone if I showed it all. I have caught so many fish over the years in the Hoy pool that it wasn't a problem just watching fish take the preverbal out of us. I think that the water temperature had a lot to do with the problem there were 24 experienced anglers over 12 beats and very few fish caught that day Its Just fishing and the fish have the last word Cheers Iain. 🥃
So many fish James Its like the old saying about the man on the Island water water everywhere and not a drop to drink Fish fish every where and none that want to come play 😜 Cheers Iain. 🥃
That was great to watch so many salmon leap, not so much for you Iain…. Great video as always

Unlucky Iain, I would tell your pal to use a wading stick, I use one for all my river fishing these days, helps getting in and out of the water too.
He Is my brother and he never listens to me I offered him a stick on the first day but he told me to stick it ............ It lay in the back of the motor all week. he fell again before lunch time in the Brawl pool. I did mention the problems in the pools and Roy found them. Cheers Iain. 🥃

Unlucky for Rog that time. Wading the pool at that height wouldn't of helped your cause

Maybe you better cast more 90 degrees there in that slow water, just to speed up a bit.
I had tried various cast and retrieves Tam I would bore the pants off everyone if I showed it all. Drives you potty when they are all around you and won't look at anything
It has Happened before and it will happen again Mitchell. It gives us something to think about when we get home 🤔
