When i first encountered Dark Tooth when i was younger, for me, he literally had the best entrance, which was jumping over one of the subway tunnel bridges near the harbour area right in front of me. If that wasn’t an entrance, i don’t know what else would be.
listening to it now, i can hear little stuff that i wouldn't be able to hear, what with all the missiles, motors, sweets tooth's laugh, the drivers screaming, etc.
Come now. There are probably about thousands of VGM out there today. I should know that for sure thanks to my versatile taste in them. Though I suppose you might be referring to how some of today's music focuses too much on a single genre while soundtracks like TM2's has more variety.
I remember my cousin being on the streets of downtown Hong Kong, with a CPU controlled enemy Thumper around the corner. As the CPU started to round the corner, he put in the button combo for a freeze ball. But, it just exploded, a civilian yelped, and a blood splatter formed. Turns out, the pedestrians were like 2d (only like 1 pixel wide, but totally visible on the other side) so neither of us could see that sushi knife guy just standing there, unintentionally ruining an easy kill. I also remember how much fun I had turbo FLYING around the harbor area. It looked like ramps out of excitebike- until i accidentally went over the forbidden fence, and died to the apparently corrosive waters outside. Good times
When I was playing TM2 last week doing a no-death run with Grasshopper, Darktooth somehow almost died from the water over the fence, he lost a lot of health and teleported back on the map, it was strange.

Disc was scratched, so some of the tracks didn't play properly. This was one of them, so it's nice to hear it clearly. Definitely doesn't feel like final level music though. That goes to the New York theme.
Ahh, the good old days of sending ricochet bombs through the subway, and then again from the balcony facing the lightning tower! It's a miracle that my sister and I didn't turn out to be so violent. LOL :D

Out of all of the stages,Hong Kong easily has the best theme. This theme embodies the Cantonese spirit which is the foundation of Hong Kong, all while giving the player a sense of adrenaline rush because the CPU's difficulty ramps up to the max since this is the last normal battle before Dark Tooth...the best stage theme of TM2,no contest.
Funniest thing about this song is you could probably play it at a club or a rave and get away with it! XD XD XD My GAWD this brings back good memories! what a ground breaking system the PS was!
Ah so nostalgic i played this game in a playstation rental on the top of the mountain every morning before i walk to the school. And also fighting a lion on the way.
I used to do the same thing with her in the temple thingy, if you used her special at someone outside the temple you'd end up in glitch-land actually underneath the temple.

Hong Kong Krunch sounds like a cereal brand or some sort of Asian food.

"You killed my son! I want my little clown boy back!"
I still play this game in 2024 😅
This whole game has the BEST music. From Orchestral to late 90's metal YEAH!!!
Its late June 2022!
I haven't heard this since the 90s

Don't forget the Freezing
I was literally sitting here thinking the same thing, all the very memorable sounds that I'll always associate with it.
PTSD flashbacks while playing Mr.Grimm
"AXEL POWER!!!!"
Cant help to be teary eyed listening to this and all the damn good times it brought
This sounds like a theme from a Jackie Chan movie.
Should be on the Sleeping Dogs OST.
Sometimes I would cruise the subway just to listen to the soundtrack avoiding shootouts along the way.
ah the times when people used to put a lot of effort into videogames music.
that ost kicks ass
