Looks like they just increased gamma and didn't fix the lighting issue in their engine. Track surfaces and some other stuff looks washed out now because there is too much gamma. I suppose it's better than not being able to see at all but they didn't fix anything, just applied a band-aid
This is a massive improvement!! The lighting and colours... the colour of trees before just didn't match the environment for example. Now it all looks so much more believable!
Honestly, I played quite a few WRC games and all of them gave me the impression that there are some parts in which the game looks amazing and other parts in which it just looks awful. I still think Dirt Rally 2.0 is a way better looking game
I agree with you, and may I add that I think the details and physics of Dirt Rally 2.0 are still way better. The way the car damages itself and gets dusty or muddy while struggling to keep a seemingly perfect machine on a track puts WRC Generations to the ground. The sound did improve, but Dirt Rally 2.0 screams are still better
@@Peugot905 That's not physics, that's graphical improvements and details. What does the tire model matter when the car doesn't respond like it should? It feels light, tractionless and has bad responsiveness. Dirt Rally's cars have a feeling of true horsepower, and when the car powerslides its because the tires, setup and weight aren't enough for it to stay on the road. In WRC, the car slides a lot more and without proper reason What does the tire model matter when you can't barely feel any bump on the tires too?
Yeah, the sun position is different but as you can see at the beginning of clips - this is the same daytime and weather conditions. Maybe different time of the year?
wow the puddles look terrible in Generations. They don't get how water fills tire ruts on the road in real life. They've got water laying on ruts coming down slopes. No gravity then? They need to tone it down about 80%.
(I wonder if the studio will throw away their experience with rally games in the future now that they lost the official liscence or will keep making rally games in the future).
Im very happy with the lighting improvement on the wales stage. For me personally it was undriveable in wrc 10 cause of the extreme darkness. So generations is already preordered 😀
it's pretty much more of the same shit... and WRC 10 still looks way better tbh... WRC Generations looks way more grainier especially when it comes to mirror and shadow effects...
Wiesz co? Nie mogę nigdzie znaleźć opcji zmiany języka, więc możliwe, ze nie ma polskiego. Ale jako, że to jest wersja cyfrowa review, to może się to różnić od wydania pudełkowego. The WRC developers are one of 'those' devs whovdony give a shit about their own game and fans. Just look at how they never bothered to fix the gamma in 9/10 and then in Generations they raise the gamma but then dont bother rendering puddles at all as well as lazily remove 120hz from the game despite not really improving the graphics to warrant its removal. Oh and all the bugs and crashing. A developer that basically pulled a hit and run with Generations in its first few months they had already hit the road jack. We are living in some times for gaming lately...
WRC 10 may be dark, but you guys know you can turn on headlights with a button, right?
water and lights in Generations are simply horrible
only on PS5. On PC its amazing!!

@@theportugueselegend the physics in WRC Generations is much better, it has an actual tire model, Dirt 2.0 has no tire physics whatsoever

Thank you! Nice comparison video!
Btw, there's something wrong with the water puddles in wrc generations. 🤔
Can't think of the stage I was on last night but I thought I'd seen patches of snow on the side of the road, turns out it was water.
@@DroneshotAerialPhotography lol
Theres no reflections in it. And its not actually Dynamic, it just oroduces a splash but its completely static
It is more important to see the road clearly than anything else. Finally, we can see the track clearly.
Honestly, both look great but they just look like different times of the day
Yeah, the sun position is different but as you can see at the beginning of clips - this is the same daytime and weather conditions. Maybe different time of the year?
They have developed the game engine very well, the rally car feels like it is flying in the air, they need to fix it on the straight road.
Is it just me or was the audio greatly improved in Generations? Not that the bar was set high, but..

it's completely lacking reflections from the surrounding environment. Just the skybox is reflecting in there. Looks so wrong
yes its like they ran out of time and gave up. took the money and ran. @@patrickdanneker5480
theres clearly something wrong on the left video
default settings on PS5
WRC 8,9 and 10 have a light bug that was never fixed. It still hasn't been fixed in generations they just changed the gamma level

Can you do WRC 9 vs Generations. I thought 9 looked really good at the time, far better than 10
What is your decision, i search comph. video but i cant found , which one is better ?
They finally figured out that when it's raining there's still light. 🙂
I'm stuck on WRC6 the servers are down and I cannot progress.
Reflective roads don't equal better graphics.
This new-gen, blur everything with high poly lighting and shadows looks horrible.
Wrc 10 120 hz is way better t han generations, which is 60. 10 also looks better

LE FALTA MEJORAR EL SONDO DE LOS CARROS LO QUE YO SE LOS CARROS EN LA VIDA REAL SON POTENTE LOS SONIDO
I will jeep in WRC10 and Dirt2.0…. No need to go to WRCG, I don’t see significant improvement
Why’d you delete my comment bro?
Thank god they lost the license because every game they made looked worse than the previous one.
