In my opinion, viking conquest has the best storyline. It's so fun to play over and over again, as the possibilities are endless. It mixes in losses with victories, lots of quests, mostly just fighting tho, but that really is MnB's boundaries,
To me my main issue is the payoff. *spoilers* The whole premise of saving your mother feels pointless. She's getting worst from the start and it's immediately established that the healer you were looking for is dead. So we basically go through the whole game knowing there's no saving your mother. Would've been better if it was a son or daughter or spouse.
@@TerryDukeyeah I think the whole mother thing was a reference to an Islandic Saga, which knowing the mod devs from Brytenwalda is entirely on point but not necessarily the best video game story
The story mode in "Adventure in the East" has timed events that advance the story such as historical characters dying etc which is why it can feel slow if you want to rush through the story campaign
its been a while since i last played evlat, but if i remember correctly you can actually get all of your unique items back when fighting your son in the dark knights hill, you will find them on a chest before the fight
