Camaro 3.8 GM R&R Throttle Body Service DTC P0305: VIDEO

- Next in our series in chasing down the dreaded P0305. How to remove throttle body on Gen 4 Camaro. Or how not to - depending on your perspective. Follow along with my mistakes. And don't YOU make them! These vids are to help avg. driveway mechanics service and troubleshoot their rides in today's world of ECMs and all of that. And save big bucks in the process. The DTC 0305 code specifies a misfire in cyl. 5 but that may very well not be the case. We go thru all the steps methodically checking everything. We share our scanner waveforms. Feel free to drop a comment on these waveforms or anything else pertinent.

Thank you for making this. About to do my boyfriend’s car and only had a slight idea but your video gave me clarity! Keep making these!
That "big thing" at 0:48 is an air silencer for the intake so its not too loud for people that wanted it quiet. If you had your Camaro modded at SLP from the factory they remove that and it a straight hose.
That sounds like a great mod.
Really helpful video bout to do mine this up coming weekend Thank you
I got a 2000 3.8 that was running rough due to cyl 2 miss fire. Found out after pulling the three ignition coils, the ignition control module was corroded and exfoliating under the coil for cyl 2.
Good on you 😊
Chuckled a bit when Eminence front by the who came on your radio. Nice video
Thanks for making this
Certainly sir ... 😀
Just watched your video. I'm having trouble with my TPS and can't fix it. Tried to find it online but got no luck finding it. Any suggestions would appreciate it. Thanks
Wrecking yards
How did you reattach the clamp that goes around the throttle body? I don’t wanna take mine off and not be able to put it back lol
I am afraid it has been too long since I have done that job. All I remember is that the clamp was not a problem.
Thanks for confirming nothing but bad news on the exhaust I've heard.
My 2001 firebird 3.8 6cyl has the same enginge , by any chance do you know we're the throttle position sensor is
In the throttle body himself
Did you ever figure out where it was? I’m having the same issue
Any more videos on the camaro?
There are a number of videos at my RUclips site, in the driveway repair playlist.
Hey brotha for the throttle position sensor can I replace it or would I have to buy a brand new throttle body unit 😩
Just get the TPS if you need it
I have an brand new throttle body gasket finna put on today what do I put on to help it stick
Where can I find the idle air control valve can you make a video of that thank you
I worked on that back then. I did not get all of the footage released in another vid. Can't remember. Good luck with your work.
Oh okay for your time and and replying as well keep it up 🤟
Hey, I’m pretty sure if you are facing the car after you pop the hood, it’s on your left side of the throttle body, has a plug.
@@ChuckFasst did you clean your throttle body because you had the reduced speed light
I did service the throttle. And I will mention again that I did eventually have to go in after a bad camshaft lobe.
Or could I just place the throttle body gasket on and just strew it down ?
Yes
Where is the TPS sensor on this engine
What he cleaning tho nothing inside there
Throttle body sound dampener
You say "gents" and "guys" often. Please be mindful that women work on cars too.
Sometimes I say GearHeadettes. But it is a bit of a mouthful... 😳. #GearHeadsWorld
@@ChuckFasst I like Gearheadettes! 😁
Nice channel, btw. I like your Camaro videos. You've touched on issues I've had and am having with my 98.
Well thank you. I can only hope that you do not have the width and bread of problems I suffered with my Camaro. Gawd almighty, I think I would rather catch Covid than to have to go through all that again. I mean - that bad camshaft .... That really topped off the entire ordeal! 🙄
Get a LIFE. I have YET to see a woman work on a car or truck, and I have been
around for over 6 DECADES.
