Being an Amiga owner in the U.S., it was painful when Commodore of America closed down part way through the Amiga's lifespan. I remember going to the computer shop and they modded our Amiga (A500 w/ extra 512K ram) to allow more RAM to be used for VRAM so it could play PAL games. The games coming from Europe were a Godsend! I was so thrilled to hear the Amiga was still going strong there. Lionheart is my personal favorite on the system. It was the game I would show off to friends who wanted to see what the Amiga could do, and I still have a lot of fun going back to play it. I also really enjoyed Mr. Nutz: Hoppin Mad, Superfrog, and Leander, of the games on your list. The others were games I either never knew about at the time or just never got a chance to pick up back then. (Playing Ruff n' Tumble nowadays, I know it probably would have been another of my favorites.)
Yup. Turns out that Mr. Nutz for Amiga was originally a different game altogether. I agree though a very good title.
Kid Chaos, 1994 music gives me OG Mortal Kombat vibes! I could 100% get behind playing this game today!
It's am ace game. Have you checked out my Amiga Setup guides for Emulation? Here's a new one that I uploaded the other month:

Rick Dangerous - loved it!
An absolute classic. Have you tried the new version? ruclips.net/video/a0jitrGrr4E/видео.html
Superfrog, Gods and James Pond 1 were my favourites.
Very awesome games indeed.
Some great games there Jamie I especially have fun memories of the Lion King
More memories on the way 😀
The Channel is Quality. Please keep on with your Content 🙈
Hey there. Thanks very much. I ain't planning on going anywhere 😀
You got to remove Cool Spot which is poor and include Moktar (Titus) into this list. It is an impressive game on Amiga with super fast and smooth scrolling, nice music, great graphics and challenging gameplay.
No thanks mate.
Gods was always such a disappointment to me. It looked and sounded great, and the combat was good. What I hated about it were the switches. Flip the first switch, nothing happens. Flip the second switch, nothing happens. Go back and flip the first switch again, now something happens. See a switch in the middle of nowhere, flip it, nothing happens. Flip it again, something happens, but you don't know what. See bonus items up on a ledge that you can't get to, flip every switch in the level, you still can't get to them. See stuff in an area that's blocked, flip the nearby switch, nothing happens. Go flip a switch elsewhere, nothing happens. Come back and flip the other switch again, a couple more times, something moves. Exactly how much time am I supposed to devote to randomly flipping all these switches hoping that something will happen? I don't mind switches and puzzles, but half the switches have no visible effect, or you have to flip them multiple times and there's no indication when you're making progress toward finding the right combination.
It's like Magic Pockets, another game that seems good at first until you realize that the bonus/powerup system is a convoluted mess that nobody really understands.
Chuck Rock, Putty, Rainbow Island and James Pond 1 & 2 are ones I have strong nostalgia for. Gods was awesome.
Subscribed! This looks like cool stuff.
Hey. Welcome to the channel. Here you will find endless Retro content from the Sinclair ZX81 - PS3.
Wow no Magic Pockets in that list and Gods is!
Haha. Really. I could have put together a top 30 very easily.
😂 the kid chaos game is wild 😂
For sure.
Lion King was a good one 🦁
Most certainly is.
If your Amiga top 20 platformer list doesn't have tearaway Thomas you're doing it wrong I'd say.
Naa. That's just personal opinion 😉
Terraway Thomas is way too fast for me, unfortunately.
New Zealand story. Rainbow islands. Turrican. Ghana sisters. Robocod. Aladin. Would make my list. :)
8:05 looks like Pepe
It does just a tad.
What about blood money?
Moooore amiga games please 😬😬😬😬
Hey. Have you checked out my Amiga Setup guides?
@@JustJamie1983 - I have the amiga for batocera front end. Is your setup guide for pc only??
@MrRockfish01 which one? I have done Setups across multiple frontends and Standalones. Check my playlists.
@@JustJamie1983 - I will check them out 😬👍🏽 thanks
Excuse me, but where is Nicky Boom?!
This is "my" personal list.
upset to not seen Yo! Joe! :/
Aww. Maybe in the next video 😀
You forgot Babba'n'Stroud !!!
I'm afraid I didn't 😉
@@JustJamie1983 I'm glad I saw Mr. Nutz though. I thought it was a very nice one.
Ghosts n Goblins
Sure
No Manic Miner, No Rainbow Islands, No Turrican 1,2 or 3, No Shadow of the beast 1,2 or 3 all of these games were classics!!
They were. But these couldn't be fitted in
You forgot Doodlebug, Arabian Nights, TRaps N Treasures, Toky, Switchblade,Magic Pockets,Rainbow Islands, Flashback, Another world, Captain dynamo, Prince os persia, Turrican, James Pond, Rodland, New Zealand Story, Chuck rock, just to mention some.
Sure. But those aren't my favourites.
@@JustJamie1983 Sorry for saying but number 19, 16 and number 2 are not games to be in a top list. :)
Fire and Ice, Cool Spot, Lion King are some seriously PATHETIC Amiga conversions. Amiga should NEVER EVER have a worse version thatn Sega Genesis as the Amiga is more powerful. Sad. And Mr Nuts though good could have been so much better (there are 2 versions on the Genesis). It needed more colors and Overscan on the Amiga and would be almost perfect but I prefer the Flow of the Other Mr Nuts that is also on the Genesis and SNES. Zool 2 Is SUPER Awesome a well as Ruff N Tumble (but needed a higher frame rate). LionHeart comes close lacking Full Screen Overscan (this HAS TO BE standard for Arcade Quality) and if they drew the Lionheart Character a bit better as he looks childishly drawn. Gods I totally love but needed a 60 frames or 30 frames per second....this choppy-ness seems to be a Bitmap Brothers Thing.
I hope they make a Ruff N Tumble 2 and also port part 1 to the C64
Fire and ice wasn’t on the genesis though and is the best version.
It is unacceptable to see lazy conversion coming on he Amiga or to see games created on the Amiga NOT running at 50 fps! What a shame!
@krysfox5941 a fair few did run at 50FPS with over scan on. To be fair I am more than happy with the speed they run at in this video.
@@JustJamie1983 My Favorite Amiga Games: Zool 2, Hybris, Battle Squadron, Slam Tilt Pinball, The Chaos Engine, LionHeart, Jim Power, Sword Of Sodan, Project X, Hired Guns and a few more.... These are High quality games.
@@krysfox5941 60fps in USA. Commodore needed to create a Seal OF Approval that had these standards in order to get a Seal. Like Sega Did.
As an Amiga owner at the time I have to say, euro platformer are generally awful which means Amiga ones were too.
Subjective stuff 😀
