"You do not recognize the bodies in the water"? Was that just a tongue in cheek reference, or did it break containment? That SCP always creeped me tf out.
@@Punipunpi_panda So there's an SCP, 2316, that's a simple lake. But when people get within like 50 meters of the lake they see things on the surface of the water that look like people, and as they get closer they look like people they know, so the closer they get the more the urge to jump in and save that person they know gets stronger until they *do* jump in. Then it's too late, and they're one of the bodies in the water. The foundation keeps it patrolled so as few people find out about it as possible, and a prerequisite for those that patrol is they have to have no idea about the lake or the people in the water because it's a cognitohazard. Knowledge of it will compel them to investigate, which compels them into the water, which makes the whole thing stronger. So when they said, "You do not recognize the bodies in the water" in this, it freaked me the fuck out because that basically means it broke contamination in my mind. Adding that little phrase in without directly mentioning the SCP behind it kind of reinforces the notion that it's loose.
There’s something so tragic and sort of sweet about the submarine. It seems like it was may be created by some sort of horrific World War I era event, and the people really seem to think they’re helping. I certainly wouldn’t leave my cat behind if I thought the world was going to end
I also like how the people don't appear to be affected by any sort of mental alteration. They try to get people in the sub because of things they have seen and experienced and they seem to genuinely believe they are helping people.
I mean the rains GOTTA be like, the bodies that end up dissolving into the surrounding water, or the water genuinely leaking, so maybe the original people thought that without the suits, everyone in the dry world would dissolve, and it's better to remain conscience than to become a part of the rain. Weird how they just switch jaws and eyes though, that part definitely is lost on me, maybe they rot over time or something and they replace them like shells without really realizing it. Idk I never had the chance to hear about this scp before so it's a really interesting story
I found it to be pretty nihilistic with a less than satisfying conclusion. Unless I am missing some clever link that gives the teeth and eyes being entirely random of origin some cool relevant meaning. Without something deeper it's just poor writing concluding and otherwise great spc tale.
There should definitely be a "funny scps" (not necessarily -Js, just ones with an overall humorous tone) compilation, and this cuddly squid one is a perfect example of what should go in it. The surrealistic earnestness of the body-horror elements being treated as normal is a very "Leslie Nielsen in Airplane" level of hilarity.
@@TheActualMrLink - An actor once famous for playing serious characters, who played an absolute straight-man in the farce "Airplane", and was typecast into comedy forever after because of it. I think an interesting SCP would be a wondertainment product like a dissolvable tablet made to purify water (just changing its perceived appearance not its chemical structure) making it crystal clear and is categorized as safe. Then it is revealed that its effect is a self-sustaining reaction and will spread through and contaminate all available liquid water after being accidently (or purposefully) dropped into/contaminating the ocean, causing it and all bodies of water connecting to it to become as clear as air (though maybe the surface is still semi-reflective, making it look like like a giant bubble), enabling light to shine down to the bottom of the ocean and revealing all the horrors hiding within. I've always been fond of such inconspicuous SCPs causing K-class or similarly massive scenarios and it'd be fun if the clearing of the water was gradual, like a curtain being raised on the ocean while the foundation scrambles to stop the spread or hide the SCPs before they're reveled. Bonus points if it goes into how such a shift would affect normally deep-sea wildlife and the various other aquatic biomes (or just the world in general as the sea would also stop being able to absorb and reflect sunlight and change how the horizon looks over bodies of water).
That sounds so cool! Could be another massive article about a broken masquerade scenario, but with mostly deep ocean abominations waking up or being poked by the public.
That clear as air would horrify many, many people. Many people in the ocean would be traumatized by the change, fish who adapted to the dark and have sight would go blind, mass attack of animals now that they can see prey that normally would blend in the dark, all submarines are visible, leading to an entire political issue (probably leading to wars), also if the ocean got clear, they have to provide a coverup for the ENTIRE world
@@GhostHyperhex just imagine if it was so clear, it would appear invisible. You could look at the ocean and see the enormous depths that we normally don't even like to think about. The SCP with the submarine and the suits holding them together reminds me of that SCP where all the people in a town are rain water that returns to the water cycle anytime a specific storm comes in. It's not connected, but it does feel tangentially related.
Those 9% of people in the diving suits that show minimal intelligence and only make animal or toddler noises are the pets and children that some of the people crammed into suits.
Before listening to even the first of these, I'll make a prediction/request for one of my favorite off-the-wall SCPs in the low numbers, "Gravity's Rainbow", an anomalous ion storm that turns the rain falling below it into an anti-gravity fluid, so that if you step in a puddle you immediately have gravity's effect upon you reversed, get flung off into space at a thousand miles an hour - unless you can take off your wet boot really quickly. The idea is scientifically nonsense, but considering that it takes its name from a famously obscure novel by Thomas Pynchon, I found the idea of literalizing it hilarious. Like Moosphere and Bass Straight, this is very much in the category of SCPs that might lead the inhabitants of the SCP universe to suspect that they're fictional creations of some *very* twisted authors.
Oooof... By helping 3700, they just hurt it... From what we're seeing, losses cause the loser to come back stronger; with an opposite effect for the winner. Need to let the back and forth happen naturally. Orrrr maybe both of them dying here means it's done for good? Or does it just start again later?
*gestures to SCP content* : this is nice *gestures to JRPG content* : but I like this I wanted you to know that I haven't watched the Chrono Trigger video yet only because I'm avoiding all spoilers for that game until I can play it the way it was intended to be played. I really enjoy the JRPG content you produce, and while I know it's not as popular as the SCP stuff, I really really like it and hope you continue to produce more.

2790 is my all time favorite skip, so cool to hear you narrate about my favorite lovable squid.
My guy I just finished watching the last of your scp videos then this comes hell yea
Dude, please keep doing more of these types of vids/SCPs!
I love how you can do SCP or warhammer and it still be just as informative and im relatively new to both so that’s good. Keep up the great work
The more in-depth videos on individual scps are great, but I do love these compilation type videos.
The Exploring Series is the BEST SCP channel here on RUclips. 😍
Wow, that was really cool. I love these ones that cover a bunch of related SCPs because they're always so unique. Nice.
thank the gods I was just thinking about how I couldn't get to sleep! TES to the rescue
Stole my comment. X)
Woke up at 3 am.
See this pop up when I check youtube.
Now I have a mission.
I always enjoy your videos man
i was looking for aquatic horror stories to listen to tonight and you sir have answered my prayer
Those 9% of people in the diving suits that show minimal intelligence and only make animal or toddler noises are the pets and children that some of the people crammed into suits.
Lol, for the squid one I could just imagine the squid sitting at a computer typing the document up and complimenting himself giddily
It’s always a good day when an SCP Exploring Series video is uploaded. Keep up the amazing work, TES!
Been really needing a post from you these days brother. Thank you
I don't think that there's enough people talking about 2790.
*Good.*
1861 reminds me of the French narrator from Spongebob as well as the Cyclops diver from the 1st Spongebob movie
Last definitely giving Groudon and Kyogre vibes
I think ive fallen asleep/woken up to this video at least 3 times.
Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
You should do Winter SCP’s as well
“You do not recognize the bodies in the water” oh no.
I suddenly decided to watch this while taking a bath
I was thinking about Thomas Pynchon yesterday. Interesting
The perfect video to fall asleep to~
Anything made by this man is the best thing to fall asleep to.
@@178fitgher5 (Smashes table) AGREED
1861 is one of my favorite scp. Steampunk sub and dive suits, an anomalous dimension and an ending that leaves you with more questions than answers.
SCP-2790: The Squid Skin Fetish
Bro when you say stuff like ‘over the years…’ I get all weepy. Been listening for years, love every video.
Perfect timing for a late night shift at work
Oooof... By helping 3700, they just hurt it... From what we're seeing, losses cause the loser to come back stronger; with an opposite effect for the winner. Need to let the back and forth happen naturally. Orrrr maybe both of them dying here means it's done for good? Or does it just start again later?
Thumbnail demands you do a video on the Bioshock lore. I'm sorry, you brought this upon yourself.
Thx for the vid love the ocean and sea monsters so really happy to see another one of theses aquatic SCP vids thx again
17:08 Oh I see what you did there.
Ah the submarine, the memetic squid, and...the kaiju fight? Didn't know about that one tbh. But sitll glad you covered them man. Have a great day :D
How can the personnel see lighting in the halls when Foundation sites are windowless?
Ngl, the ambient rain and thunder was pretty relaxing.
This saved my life i thikk ive been watching the first aquatic video for months
Oh great, because my fear of the ocean wasn't already bad enough.
"You do not recognize the bodies in the water" whew, dodged a bullet there bud...
*gestures to SCP content* : this is nice
*gestures to JRPG content* : but I like this
I wanted you to know that I haven't watched the Chrono Trigger video yet only because I'm avoiding all spoilers for that game until I can play it the way it was intended to be played. I really enjoy the JRPG content you produce, and while I know it's not as popular as the SCP stuff, I really really like it and hope you continue to produce more.
You might be the best orator? I’ve ever listened to, and I’ve heard my fair share of audio booka
Love the bioshock edit in the thumbnail/intro.
Who would win? A cold, calculating organization, or one squiddy bOI?
this is the best channel to listen to Any SCPs
The SCP Foundation has to be one of the best inventions of aspiring artists on the internet, no, one of the best inventions of the internet-Age of information of humanity.
Anyone can write as long as the article isn't something not within acceptable parameters.
The artist has free publicity and the fans get free entertainment, no wonder the SCP Foundation is well liked, as it should.
Sometimes you remember that good things happen, thank you all that SCP Foundation happened.
y'know I was just relistening to your video on 3000 the other day, it's like you knew I needed some more of this in my life
Man I love this channel
