- I have gone through every Survivor Auction and found the best purchases throughout all the season. Some people got a lot with a low bid, others got a lot with a high bid, and other items were just really good no matter the cost. Tell me your opinion. Which purchase has been the very best in Survivor history?

The Survivor Auction is an event that occasionally appears in Survivor.
About
The Survivor Auction is a special Reward Challenge where the players are temporarily relieved from competing in strenuous challenges. Instead, they will be given a specific sum of money where they must outbid the other contestants for certain items, mostly food, with instances where a temporary use of amenities or a visit from loved ones are also offered. There are also instances where there are game-changing powers that contestants can outbid on, such as the power to send another player to Exile Island, an advantage at the next Immunity Challenge, or a clue to a Hidden Immunity Idol. The host would pound a gavel on the auction table, denoting that the item has already been sold.
At pre-determined points, the host will offer covered items which will remain covered until there is a winning bidder. In connection to covered items, there are also "trap items," which reveal an undesirable prize, such as exotic food items or boiled water from their camp. Also, the host will sometimes tempt the contestant to trade his/her chosen item for another sealed item, which sometimes reveal a "better" item(s), or sometimes a more undesirable one(s).
In recent seasons, players are to outbid on items that would benefit the entire tribe, such as all-tribe food items to be eaten in a certain amount of time, or extra food supply. This could serve as doing a favor for the tribe, in order to establish a better position in the game, perhaps expecting their tribe to return the favor.
Rules
Prior to the auction starting, the host announces the guidelines of the auction. In order for a contestant to bid, they must adhere to the following rules:
Castaways are given a predetermined amount of money (which may vary from local currency to USD) and can choose to bid as many times as they wish using however much money they have.
The host would open the bidding with a flat rate that follows the prescribed increment (if bidding is at $20 increments, the host may open the bidding at $40). This rule has been abandoned in recent seasons.
Bids will be in increments at the host's discretion. Castaways can, however, immediately bid a large amount, or all of the money in their possession, in an attempt to instantly win a desired item.
"Pooling" (sharing money along with the item up for auction with other players) is permitted, as long as they share the item and/or vice versa. This option has been voided since Cook Islands.
Food which is bought must be eaten before leaving the auction area.
The auction will usually end without notice.
Sealed/covered items will remain covered until the item is sold.
Host Jeff Probst has revealed that after the auction, the contestants may keep their unspent money. Jeff even claimed that some contestants do not bid at all so that they can keep the money.
If two or more people who have all their money want to bid all of it on the same item, they will draw rocks to decide who wins. This rule was implemented starting with Cagayan.
Impact
The auction is well received by fans, primarily with seeing the contestants enjoying food and sharing it with their tribemates or keeping it for themselves. It also provides insight as to whether or not a castaway will risk what they have bought in order for a concealed item, which is typically exotic local cuisine or an improvement on what has been won. I just realized, they all could have bought all the food for cheap and shared it amongst everybody Have they agreed that no one would bid on the food Except one person
I could be wrong, but I believe they aren’t allowed to share it for free. They either need to be part of the bid or pay the person afterwards.

@@autumnnichelle3018 that's basically the reason they don't do it anymore, a girl gave the group the idea of not bidding up the letters from loved ones so they could all get them for 20 since she saw that's how it worked on other seasons, takes the fun and mystery out of it, and ever since then no more auctions

what did she win?

I don't even care for peanut butter, but Eddie's purchase of that big bowl made me CRAVE it!
When you're out there starving peanut butter is probably one of the best options it's hella protein and fat.
I thought it was chocolate pudding…but then realized peanut butter is better because of the neutient values of it
I honestly loved these auctions, to see them genuinely excited for everyday food and the others being happy for them too, it was awesome.
Then they started the whole getting clues, edges in the game stuff and that's when greed kicked in and kind of wrecked it.
Anyways 😁

One of the biggest reasons why I hated worlds apart
Luke from AU Survivor had the best auction Purchase of all-time. He got 1 of every other item purchased in the auction and a bed/bath for the night.

If you have watched the season of Sugar, she always eats fruits and amazing foods, that is why she gave up the cookie. She has an immunity and a token everytime
And also because she indulged on Chocolate & Peanut Butter as well.
I think it was something else too guys because there was 1 cookie left for the man and it was his after he passed the rest out, he was nice and killing her with kindness offering him his & she took it THEN gave it to someone else.
To put sugars cookie thing in perspective, Randy kept harassing her during their days at the tribe.
She was fed up that he kept demanding she take a cookie, so she just took it.
But you also have to remember Gabon is one of the seasons that almost made Jeff quit because of the wacky train wreck cast.
The one reddening fact is at least Bob won of the final four. Of the three, Sugar would’ve been the only other one who would’ve been a decent win due to the record times going to Exile island. (She was a social-type player, so exike sid tax her there.)
Randy was not nice during that season... really? "I'm the boss"? Does that sound like someone that deserves any respect? He was so rude to Sugar during this season, why should she be nice to him back? He even said he would have eaten all the cookies himself so he wouldn't have shared them if he didn't have to.
I like how it's not even the actual purchases that make this video so great it's the wholesome reactions of the contestants. It Amazing!

22:12 that guy licking the girls finger after eating choco cake is funny ash! 🤣
All I can think of is the absolute carnage that is their dig out toilets after such a rich meal after almost nothing 😬😬😬
I sort of know how they felt ..after eating boot camp food for 9 weeks...our flag team went to do routines somewhere and stopped at a steak house ...it was the best....of course after eating boot camp food ..they could have handed us a piece of leather and we would have inhaled it ...we were acted like we hadn't eaten in years 🤣🤣
I was the exact same way after OSUT and 22 weeks of only army food. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and coke at the PX on base and finished it within minutes lol. Easily the best meal of my life.
Idk if any MOMENT in Survivor history, let alone just auction buys, will ever top Taj and her reaction to getting to see her husband. The Tocantins auction is hands down my all time favorite episode of Survivor.

We all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for us, so that we may have everlasting life. Now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and you will you be saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read Bible, pray for Jesus to reveal Himself to you and change you, seek to do what is right according to the Bible. Much love and God bless.

Season 45 - it's FINALLY coming back! Jeff said they stopped doing it because once advantages were involved, mostly everyone would just save their $500 to bid on that. I'm assuming they are just going to do it with food - whatever the case, I'm glad!
Are you sure it’s coming back? Did someone say that? I really hope so I love the auction episodes!
the episode with Taj is the one i cried the absolute most . JT was just the sweetest kid on earth he was the first one to give his entire stack to her said here take it all i want you to see your family . if not for him i don't think many other would have but the fact Coach and Stephen didn't give a single bill just showed how shitty they both are smh
True, but that's also after she had several people's money pooled, and was clearly going to win. She hadn't bid yet, and only ended up needing to bid $20. The group agreed to give it to Taj, so Stephen and Coach didn't need to give her their money as well.
@@kylebeardsley6200 you obviously didn't grasp the point of what the others did. even though she had enough to out i'd with no one else's money since she's the only one that hadn't but . This was a fun segment every season back then. I wonder why they stop this in the recent seasons...
Because everyone saves for the last item which is usually an advantage. It just takes the fun out of the rest of the auction. I can’t remember which season but Jeff usually offers letters from home and offers everyone the chance to buy theirs for the same price as whoever had the highest bid, so someone won it for $20 and everyone else bought theirs except one guy because he wanted to have more than everyone else for the advantage, so people started selling their letters back so they could be in the running for the advantage at the end. It was just sad.
@@genevieveroy780 I did notice that. It takes the fun out of it. Hopefully they this bring back minus the advantages since there are already many of them in the game.
@@genevieveroy780 someone said that a good way to stop this from happening would be to make all the items food and have the advantage attached to one of the item but Jeff wont tell the survivors which food has it that way it really is a gamble and you cant just gold on to your money for the last item. @@genevieveroy780 I think it also had to do with the girl that told everybody not to bid her up on the letters because she knows that's how it works from watching other seasons, influencing the auction because you've seen how it works on TV kinda ruins it, but they could easily fix that also by only selling one letter.
