She wasn't sent home with 0 votes. She was effectively sent home with 5 votes. It was going to be a tie leading to a 2nd vote where she was the only one available to receive votes. She wouldn't even be able to vote in the 2nd vote really, because you can't vote for yourself and everybody else had immunity.
Christian using his idol and Gabby getting voted out is so satisfying if you saw the season and know that Gabby and Christian were BFFs right up until she randomly decided to try to blindside him that episode to "make a move." Make your move right out the door, lady.

Yeah it makes it tough sometimes to get the immunity power from the idol. Sometimes I like it though. I think it should be a balance of both. Like different colors for beware advantages vs regular immunity idols
That's because you're older and you're type of people that say that they miss the old survivor make people of color like me and others feel like they're not welcome because the old survivor gave privilege to its white players that colored people did not have. I hate how immunity idols were handled. Brute force searching for them is dumb. That doesn’t show any merit. A better option would have been super complicated clues and a puzzle needing to be solved. Or, hidden idols on team challenges, and OPEN idols on individual challenges that act as detours from the main challenge.

Therefore she should not have been sent home. They should have ALL been sent back to camp. They all needed immunity to avoid the vote, she used her brains. Entertain Yourself the reason I’m saying it is because every idol play is representative of the proliferation of twists and advantages present in modern survivor. Ciries vote off was horrific. Watching the best social player of all time go home with 0 votes because she wasn’t the best scavenger hunter should have been indication enough that survivor was headed in a horrible new direction. I apologise, Alan Balls voteoff is fine. The Ben idol plays are again indicative of poor strategic and social play, only saved because of his scavenger hunting skills- not what the game is about. Ghost Islands one was fine although boring. The DvG idol plays are fine because they were combined with intelligent strategic and social play (Split minority vote, the Blindside of Gaby, and Christian pretending to be clueless). The idols weren’t tools to push players to the end who had no other means of making it there, rather they were utilised intelligently in strategic gameplay. But in EoE we get back to players like Rick and Chris who had poor strategic and social gameplay, and were unable to get themselves to the end without a plethora of twists, idols and advantages. Gone are the days of intelligent idol plays like Russell’s, Parvati’s, Malcolm’s and Kelley Wentworths. Idols no longer come with the risk factor of “will I find this again? Is it worth me playing?” Because of course the underdog will refind the idol. So contestants can just rely upon their scavenging skills instead of social or strategic gameplay. And it’s disheartening to watch players like Cirie, Chrissy, Devon, and Victoria get snubbed due to players with poor gameplay throwing themselves to the end.

The Davids split their minority vote in case of the Goliaths had an idol, when the Davids already had 2. That level of gameplay would never occur if idols were still rare. Also more and more lately, obvious winners have emerged thanks to top heavy casts such as your Bens and Devens, who played at such a high level in the first half of the post merge that they needed idols to stay in the game. While I think Lauren and Victoria, as well as Devon are quality to good players, once they realised the caliber of opponents they had in Ben and Devens, it doesn't benefit them to ally with them. This is why in recent seasons, the "likely winner" exits at the final 4 when they can no longer idol themselves to the end. (Devens in EoE, David in MvGX, Wentworth in 2C, etc) This situation used to be fairly rare, with the occasion Malcolm or Cagayan Spencer, but Survivor casting has been lackluster lately, in terms of strategic impact. (With a few obvious exceptions) I mean, there's a reason a player like Adam won, when he was arguably hardly a top 5 player in his season, or Chris who was CERTAINLY not a top 5 player in his season. Great players either need idols, or a cast of terrible players to reach the end these days most of the time. Personally I think Devon should have won HHH, even if Ben was there, but juries eat up the underdog hero with a bag of idols, especially when they are as goddamn charismatic as Devens. Nobody used to cry when Russell found his idols, or Tai, or Parvati. Cuz for the most part, they were never threats to win, just fun characters buying themselves 3 more days. But when a contender goes on an idol run, all of the sudden its bad gameplay, and fans begin accusing production of rigging the game.
Cirie getting voted out was a lesson to the producers that they had too many idols in the game, that could all be played at the same time.

Gone are the days of intelligent idol plays like Russell’s, Parvati’s, Malcolm’s and Kelley Wentworths. Idols no longer come with the risk factor of “will I find this again? Is it worth me playing?” Because of course the underdog will refind the idol. So contestants can just rely upon their scavenging skills instead of social or strategic gameplay. And it’s disheartening to watch players like Cirie, Chrissy, Devon, and Victoria get snubbed due to players with poor gameplay throwing themselves to the end.

@@edendorra7231 I think that the increased number of idols has forced players to be more strategic tho. Think about it. The Davids split their minority vote in case of the Goliaths had an idol, when the Davids already had 2. That level of gameplay would never occur if idols were still rare. Also more and more lately, obvious winners have emerged thanks to top heavy casts such as your Bens and Devens, who played at such a high level in the first half of the post merge that they needed idols to stay in the game. While I think Lauren and Victoria, as well as Devon are quality to good players, once they realised the caliber of opponents they had in Ben and Devens, it doesn't benefit them to ally with them. This is why in recent seasons, the "likely winner" exits at the final 4 when they can no longer idol themselves to the end. (Devens in EoE, David in MvGX, Wentworth in 2C, etc) This situation used to be fairly rare, with the occasion Malcolm or Cagayan Spencer, but Survivor casting has been lackluster lately, in terms of strategic impact. (With a few obvious exceptions) I mean, there's a reason a player like Adam won, when he was arguably hardly a top 5 player in his season, or Chris who was CERTAINLY not a top 5 player in his season. Great players either need idols, or a cast of terrible players to reach the end these days most of the time. Personally I think Devon should have won HHH, even if Ben was there, but juries eat up the underdog hero with a bag of idols, especially when they are as goddamn charismatic as Devens. Nobody used to cry when Russell found his idols, or Tai, or Parvati. Cuz for the most part, they were never threats to win, just fun characters buying themselves 3 more days. But when a contender goes on an idol run, all of the sudden its bad gameplay, and fans begin accusing production of rigging the game.
