Every time you call Juliet Sis I think of my son. When my son was little he started calling his big brother "Brother" instead of using his name. It stuck. Today they are 33 and 29 and he still calls him brother. It's endearing.
That's very Native American. It's common to call auntie, auntie; uncle, uncle; sister, sister; brother, brother; cousin, cousin etc
My brother always calls me Sister. I love it. It’s sweet.

I am 69 and my brother is 81, he calls me Sis and I call him Brother! My daughter is 6 years younger than my son, she tried to say brother but it came out No , that name stuck with ever in the family except her!!!

That unknown item was a toothpick holder. Matches the 1979s trivets, napkin holders etc. all made with the acrylic.
Looks like it could hold a small spreading knife, too.

The orbs you find are called Witch Balls if they hav spun glass inside and something else if plain. Very collectible. I pay around $38 for each witch ball which is what I collect

My parents came over from Italy on Ellis Island. They actually settled in Reading Pennsylvania. So I know it very well. I didn’t grow up there. I grew up in New Jersey, but I inherited several sets of Stangl . The whole fruit pattern I don’t use it because it ships too easily. I have several other patterns back when they got married in 1954 they were given so many different things of.Stangl such as flowerpot, different auditions and this whole set of pottery that I have. I just found a piece I never saw at a thrift store for three dollars. It’s really pretty.

Here’s a tip for abb. We stayed at one beginning of Dec. I had planned to cook breakfast each morning. Oven bacon and biscuits. Well the had no baking pans, so I bought a cheap one at Walmart and left it. But two nice sized cookie sheets would have been nice!?

Not to be that person 🤭, each of those three small glass vases were made by different companies, believe it or not. The green is Anchor Hocking (OH), the ruby-stained is Macbeth-Evans (PA), and the hand-painted is Bartlett-Collins (OK). So many glass makers made similar things. Thank you for taking us with you thrifting! Love to see Juliet, she is an amazing girl! 🙂

A version of those pans can be found at TJ Maxx - and they are FABULOUS! I think a similar brand is at Walmart and they are non-stick but not the icky stuff

So glad I watched! I saw two of three ceramic elves I had as a child in the 70's . Looks like a great time was had. OMG! They have all 3😮 I broke mine when I was 7 amazing they are still intact
I had those same 3 elves. Bought them in 1979, Home interior,I think. They got broken the same year, when wind blew a large picture off the wall and knocked them to the floor. I found them again about 8 yrs ago, at a thrift store, and bought them. I could even remember how they felt
I never knew those drums were for outside! Thanks Sis! Now I'm hoping I run into another.

I was thinking the same thing (though I didn't know it had a name!) My grandpa used to entertain us with his. The only difference was the stick he held on to went into the dancer's back, instead of having it suspended on a string. Good memories 🥹
If I bought stuff at goodwill now is to help others like the angel they hired and some people who need help because nothing is cheaper like before. Whe you buy something you dancing and singing inside and you are so happy everything changes but still good.

Fun trip!! It's always a good sign when you fill your cart. :) I would be leery of the aluminum cooking pans too. While they can be high quality, I'd stick with stainless or anodized stainless. Especially for the air B&B. I think something more sturdy would be better (of course, my sister is still cooking with aluminum pots and pans from the 1950s, so who's to judge what's sturdy or not?).
Also, I think Juliette's hair cut is awesome!

For cookware I’d go with a nice stainless steel. It cleans up fairly easy. We got an high end set for our wedding 30 years ago and they still look almost brand new. My daughter bought me a supplement set that has removable handles (because I HATE stacking pots and pans) it wasn’t an expensive set but it feels nearly as good as my old set, definitely has the same weight.
I’d personally just buy a new set because miss matched pots and pans never stack very well and ultimately just take up a lot more space.
If you are looking for cast iron or a nice heavy enamel my worry is they will disappear. Sure you can charge the renter for them but then you’re back on the hunt to replace them.
I soooo agree with you about just buying a set of cookware. The mismatched pots and pans will look … we’ll … mismatched, and cheap.
