Trains at: Ely, Fen Line, 10/07/21

- A very good afternoon spent at Ely on the Fen Line where we see plenty of services from Great Northern, East Midlands Railway, Cross Country, Greater Anglia and plenty of freight from GBRF.
The station was built and opened in 1845 by the Eastern Counties Railway at a cost of £81,500 back then. I dread to think how much it would be if that were built today, especially because of the geography of the terrain that the line is built on. The station was always busy because from its outset its always been used as a junction station linking Cambridge, Peterborough and the surrounding areas to London.
There isn't to much to tell about this station other than during the 1990's British Rail modified the station quite substantially in order for electrification to take place, although not every line coming out of Ely is electrified today.
My next station will be Grantham on the East Coast Mainline.

I like Ely. I’ve been there twice and the Class 170, Class 158, Class 700, Class 755 and Class 387 are very nice trains.

Hello from Canada. When I lived in Bath for 3 years back in the early 2000s, I truly loved going to Bath Spa and just watching trains pass. We do not do rail in Canada like you all do in the UK. Your videos bring me back to those times, and I thank you for that. Subscribed!

Amazing when you think of it,the 2nd 66 pulling 1,800ft of containers(30) mad...and other had over 50 In Cardiff we see some ex EMR carriages still in the colours..not recovered in TFW vinyls yet

How do you get from one platform to the other side at Ely?
I think there's a subway that links the platforms because I can't see any footbridge

Instead of Ely you said Eastl... ooops that's been remarked already, in about every comment. Is the 755 for Greater Anglia the one that has the easiest step onto the train? No need to mind the gap?
