- The Kingdom of Portugal (Latin: Regnum Portugalliae, Portuguese: Reino de Portugal) was a monarchy on the Iberian Peninsula and the predecessor of modern Portugal. It was in existence from 1139 until 1910. After 1248, it was also known as the Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarves and between 1815 and 1822, it was known as the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves. The name is also often applied to the Portuguese Empire, the realm's extensive overseas colonies.

The atmosphere that the music and this painting produces is simply beautiful
this athem is about the portuguese constitution.
Its funny because it was written by the brazilian emperor (that was from the portuguese royal family) that went to portugal to figth his brother.
His brother defended an absolute monarchy, and the emperor of brazil was fighting for his daugther claim on the throne as a contitutional monarch.
So, this was civil war between absolutism and liberalism, wich the liberals won, and the daughter of the Brazilian emperor was made queen under a constitution.
The athem goes the entire way saying that the constitution is "heavenly", "beautifull" and "should be allways kept".
I imagine it like this:
Emperor of Brazil: So, random portuguese of the 18th century... Do you like your constitution?
Random protuguese: "I love it sir! Its great! its beautifull!

Quite frankly, I currently believe that the good old United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and Algarve (along with Angola and Mozambique) might represent the ideal solution for all the countries involved. End the decadent spirit of Jeffersonian libertarian individualism and bring in a Hohenzollern prince to serve as Emperor of North America (added "North" because that's not as discriminatory or misleading; Mexicans call us norteamericanos already, and as long as we drop our claims to Canada it should be fine). The Hohenzollerns are conservative (more like reactionary) and Protestant- thus they can spread European monarchical values to the states while still remaining the same religion (and ethnicity- large German population here) as the majority. They would also be "foreign" enough to represent all Americans, since most German-Americans are more like Anglo-Americans these days, and would distinguish the monarchy from the British one. They've also got the blood of George III (through Victoria) in their veins, and it was a Prussian prince, Heinrich, who almost became the king thanks to Hamilton's efforts. I've drawn up a plan for 12 subkingdoms within, too; for example, an Ethiopian or Lesotho monarch could serve as king in the south due to the large black population (the whites are already represented by the emperor) and Bourbons or Iturbides could make good kings for former Spanish colonies (especially ones with large Hispanic populations.
It's a long shot, but if it could happen, I hope it would! More and more people are becoming disillusioned with the system in America, so maybe, just maybe. I'd love to see my country embrace "God, King, and Country" instead of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" as their motto.

Isso daria em torno de 25 milhões de pessoas (só isso é o dobro da população de Portugal) mas isso tende a ser mais, principalmente quando você observa a internet. Fora que a Monarquia só teria oposição da esquerda em caso de referendo, e visto as últimas eleições... bom, dá pra tirar as conclusões.
