Thank you all for the very kind comments, I've made a quick followup video to this one which can be seen here: ruclips.net/video/xHwB5U-uzbA/видео.html
I am addicted to your videos, can’t wait for Fridays . Love your intros. You’ve been metal detecting for awhile, use your instincts. Thank you for the great videos.
First, I love the interlude music & photo scenery. I can picture myself hiking through the woods. Second, a great hunt, great filming and good information shared. Love going detecting with you. Thanks for taking us.
A nightmare any detectorist would dread.... unpacking a detector... turning it on only to discover a broken screen. You fought the odds and won with some fantastic finds! Show your video to Garrett and they might send you a new one as a thank you for years of great hunting with the AT Pro! I have the same machine and love it... thanks for the video!
Wow! What an amazing hunt. I love your highlights of the nature in your area. But Huntington with a broken detector..... much respect for the patients you had to have this day. Thanks for holding strong and showing us your awesome finds. I truly hope that you can replace your machine soon and that you can come back to this site. Thanks for sharing.
I bought an AT Max a month ago and after changing a problematic coil was advised by the shop owner that the numbers are purely a guide. Listening for the tones, you'll eventually tune yourself into the machine, without realising it, this is what you've done Bud. I wouldn't even bother changing/repairing it unless Garrett want to give you one gratis!! All the best from SE England, keep those videos coming.
Nothing can keep a good detector down! This vid shows how well you know your detector and showing you can detect blindly off of sound. You my friend are an inspiration to this hobby! Absolutely love how you explain everything from your methods of detecting, the finds you have and about nature and your surroundings. Congrats on your incredible finds from your buckles to the Reale!!! 👍
As one of the best metal detecting sites on youtube I hope Garret will give you a new max in consideration of all the advertising you give them. As always a great video. I look forward to them every Friday morning.
I would buy a cd with all of your songs! Really enjoy your videos, the beautiful countryside and most of all the music! Thank you for sharing it all with us! Go safe!
Brad, I subscribe to dozens of metal detecting channels and my normal Friday morning routine is to get up, drink my coffee and watch any new posts I haven't already watched during the week. However, I always save your videos till last. The quality of your videos far exceeds any other channels I subscribe to. The videography of the beautiful Vermont woods along with your music makes your videos the best out there! You should have your own TV show. I throughly enjoy each video you post and look forward to saving the best till last each Friday morning. Keep up the excellent work my friend.
I recently had a problem with my garrett detector and they were absolutely awesome to deal with. They took care of everything super fast and friendly too. That experience will go a long way into what detectors I will buy in the future! Great video, even broken your garrett still found treasure.
Max Sands I have a 6 year old At Pro and an At Max that I thought was out of warranty when it started that chatter at anything above 2 bars sensitivity. Talked to the nicest girl who did inform me I was still under warranty and instructed me how to send it. I had my backup so I was in no hurry to get the Max back, however, 10 days later Mr. FedEx rolled in and handed the ole girl back. NEW coil, coil cover, control head, batteries with battery holder and also hardware to attach the coil to the shaft. Talk about customer service!! Oh, and it works great too...Scotty.
I find the shoe buckles are just so intriguing. Remnants of a life lost to time. It has to be so marvelous just to touch and feel history from the treasures you find. I love your channel and what you get to do. It is so special!
I have been using a pipe finder metal detector, I bought it for 2 bucks at a yard sale, it works great, I've found all kinds of things, my best find was avon lip sticks from the early 1800's , i love your vidios keep up the great work, love from Indiana
I have a 30 year old Tesoro detector that is basically a box with switches on it no screen. Never had to have it worked on and is still under warranty. I have more silver than anything else with it. I also have a 30 year old Garrett I bought both of them a couple of months apart in 1989. Another good hunt and video from you, thanks.
Your videos sell more Garret Metal Detectors than they could imagine. Maybe Garret can find it in their heart to send you a new one, no charge. If The Chigg knows about this, I’m sure he’d be happy to share the wealth.
Brad... your ears are keen to the tones no doubt. That detector has been good to you. If you haven't already, send it in get it fixed. Garrett is a great company and fits your style. Great job my friend - Onwards and Upwards!!!!!
This has been one of my favorite videos. The items u found are so relatable. I can close my eyes and picture it being used almost 250 yrs ago. American history is my passion, so ty for posting ur videos. Well done sir!
Would be awesome if you could update or slip in at the end of the video what the land owner kept and what you were able to take. Thanks for the GREAT videos!!
Hey Mountain Man They say a poor carpenter blames his tools. You just proved that you are anything but a poor carpenter !!! You went forward with what you had available when a lot of people would have just gone home. By using what you had for tools and using your skills, you turned what could have been a washout into a successful hunt. Laurels for your perseverance and skills. Keep on keeping on
Your finds from so long ago NEVER gets boring watching!! Silver coin-Awesome! Although I love the key the best! Thanks for trudging through the worm things & cobwebs for another great video!!
Always makes my Friday to see what you've found. The early Colonial people cleared off land in New England and piled the stones they had picked up in the cleared off land, only to discover that they just couldn't make it by farming. They eventually left for better land to the West and South. You are left with the stacked stone walls and the ruins of their homes.
Really cool ! Would of loved to see the Land Owners reaction on your broke detector spoils ! it is pretty cool to see that you know your machine good enough to not really hinder the search !!!
Brad just so excited for you, you did well, amazing things....was sad when heard your detector was broken, but you didnt give in and where rewarded thanks for showing little flowers, natural growth, enjoy it all....Camille Australia
Another awesome Friday video !! Amazed at how well preserved the shoe buckle in the surface was 🤔 Spanish silver !! Land owner I bet was in total disbelief . Thanx for posting every week !
You had some really awesome finds, Brad! I'm glad you will be able to show the landowner how wrong he was about his property! Sorry about your detector, too. Technology is both a blessing and a curse sometimes!
Have been a fan for almost 2 yrs! Friday evenings waiting to find your great videos. I had missed the growth of your subs, glad you are getting a following. Knowing the sounds of your detector shows, plus your knowledge and research of the areas history, CONGRATS!
I have found several half reales at cellars that are totally worn but had those marks on them and have always found them around buttons, my belief is that they used them as thimbles to push the needles through clothing. I think once they lost there value as a coin they would re purpose them as such. Great video as always.
Just wanted to let you know I enjoy all the still photos you share with use while on your detecting outings. I had no concept of the natural beauty of that area. I'm from SWNebr. and there is nothing like that here. Thank you, Steve
Half of the so called metal detectors on You Tube can barely find anything good with a working metal detector, but leave it to Brad with a busted one.....Nice finds Brad.
That coin is a real find along with that old padlock key. I took my detector out today in the mountains west of Fort Collins, CO and found lots of spent bullets and casings and an old hex key. Happy diggin.
Regarding shoe-buckle at 6:18, possible it may have already been an old family keepsake or knick-knack by the time it was lost, thus the good preservation and shallow depth maybe.
What a great hunt with some really awesome finds and you "weren't gonna find anything"!😃I would love to have seen the owners reaction! Take care and best wishes!!!

That would have been so awesome to see how the landowner reacted after saying you wouldn't find anything. Thank you so much for sharing your day. x

I think the thing you found with teeth is not a saw but a retaining lock for the foot tensioner on an antique sewing pony or harness pony. The foot pedal pulls a leather strap to tighten the vice jaws and a dog locks it into the thing you found sort of like a ratchet. I still own an old sewing pony and restored it myself so that is why I am saying it looks like that part.
Renames the title to Brad uses the force to find pirate treasure. Next time just point and dig and you'll probably find a chest of gold. Nice finds. Love the ball button, looks like it has flecks of gold. Thanks Brad for the hunt, history, and journey.
Great finds under the circumstances....WoW, the Spanish Real is a super find! Wonderful video as usual. Get your detector fixed, go back to the spot to find the “Treasure Chest full of Reals”(don’t forget the key...) 😃HH and GL from Canada.🙏🏼🍀❤️👋🏼🇨🇦
@@pauljb1979 lmao That good it is huh? is it metal detecting made easy? I Make my own detectors, which perform very well, nonetheless. I am saving up my detecting loot to buy an EQ800 for next season.
Brad! I hate to be the person who tells you this but, when that particular variety of spider bites a human, the spider toxin turns the human into a zombie! Just teasing! That Spanish 1/2 Real is truly an awesome find! It never ceases to amaze me when a Spanish coin turns up in Vermont. Good job, guy!
Great finds~ lots of Garrett comments~ the Pro has a thin screen but Max is a little thicker. But I have no farm fields but only the harshest of terrains to detect on, on which I used Whites and Minelab before~ Garrett is THE detector for tough terrain, not perfect, but ,for me, they pay for themselves.

Too funny. Love it when I'm told you cant do that but go ahead and give it a try. Looked like the Tesoro worked out well for you. Great hunt... Beep... Dig...
I been using a Bounty Tracker IV for several years. It has no screen, just a meter - the needle jumps on detection but that's not useful. The machine does have two tones in discriminate mode which helps with target identification. It's a little like flying blind but I've found lots of interesting and quality stuff. Instrumentation is nice to have but consider your broken display on that hunt to be a good thing, an experience in the basic art of metal detecting. I really enjoy your channel. I'm in Colorado and have no opportunity to find stuff from the colonial period.
That was so awesome! Love the finds especially your Spanish coin. I like the buttons. I like to think about where they came from and who was wearing them. Going about their daily lives and losing it. Fascinating!
The saw blade you found. could it be a bone saw? I would love to see a video of the owner's reaction and how you presented the artifacts to him. I would watch it the vlog.
I would not spray old coins first. If you lightly rub on your pants you can use the dirt sometimes to make out details that some of the badly worn coins can be washed away with water. Just a suggestion because you can always go to the water second.
Brad I always enjoy your videos it’s more than just swing, dig find. You proved even with a broken detector, Detectorist who knows is the detector can persevere and prevail. It’s more than just swing the detector it’s knowing the machine.
AWESOME FINDS!! I've had a night hunt and you literally run on sound only... It's different but fun... BUT even though Garrett is right down the street from me.. I'd be crying to see my screen like that. LOL you handled it well.. great video!
Another fine video. You should really try the oyster mushrooms you panned by at the beginning. They are good when young like those. I had an intermittent coil one time. It would cut out and I thought I was hunting an empty area until I figured out what was going on.
You really should bring a small probe with you. I think that hole where you were pulling the chunks of ceramics and window pane might have been a trash hole or the top of an outhouse. Could have had lots of buried bottles down there.
Ahh. The love of metal detecting, even with faulty equipment.😜 Just a thought-Ever bring a test coin along to check if there is failure? Glad you found great pieces of history despite the doubts and a blind screen. I think numbers get in the way of possibilities anyways, unless you’re seriously in a time crunch.
Theyre probably a bolas spider. They drop down a single strand and will even twirl it around and lasso bugs flying by. I love your videos. Only half way thru and cant wait to see what else you find:) (oh and forgive my spelling)
amazing how the woods are identical. to my homestead east of me is Camden valley. which borders vt and mile down my hollow end in VT in fact we have VT residents in our school district and fire districts. ..love how you video trees and other curios. .....our hallow was used for sheep farming and supplied wool for the military. upgrade to the MAX

An old french fry basket works very well as a sifter. I used one for years looking for gold and other things in the creeks. $1 at thrift stores.
Great idea! Thanks!
Would love to hear more follow up on your interactions with the land owners after your finds. Would be very interesting
Excellent video. Congratulations on all of your discoveries.
I would not spray old coins first. If you lightly rub on your pants you can use the dirt sometimes to make out details that some of the badly worn coins can be washed away with water. Just a suggestion because you can always go to the water second.
Thanks for another excellent video Brad! Sorry about your Garrett ... :(
Brad I always enjoy your videos it’s more than just swing, dig find. You proved even with a broken detector, Detectorist who knows is the detector can persevere and prevail. It’s more than just swing the detector it’s knowing the machine.
Great point!
AWESOME FINDS!! I've had a night hunt and you literally run on sound only... It's different but fun... BUT even though Garrett is right down the street from me.. I'd be crying to see my screen like that. LOL you handled it well.. great video!
Brad you are a natural! Broken detector! No matter! Perfect buckles, beautiful key and the half raele too cool!
Another fine video. You should really try the oyster mushrooms you panned by at the beginning. They are good when young like those. I had an intermittent coil one time. It would cut out and I thought I was hunting an empty area until I figured out what was going on.
Nice. The detecting equivalent of a blind squirrel still finding an old nut or two. Congrats.
Great hunt! Heck you found more with a broken detector in the woods than I do with a new one in the city LOL... As always thanks for sharing.
Great video. I look forward to your videos every week. Good job.
The reaction of the landowner when shown what was found would be sweet to see. Great video tho, love the adventure every time. 👍
It is so nice to find your new videos posted. Great job! It looks like so much fun.
Another great video Brad 👍👍 keep up the good work 👍👍
