    When I was growing up my dad worked swing shift and my mom worked days. So dad always fixed our full dinner during the day. My mom came home for lunch and we ate something small at dinner time.

    When I was growing we would go spend summers on my grandparents farm. We always had lunch as our main meal of the day and then something light for dinner.

    I always cook rice in my Insta-Pot for the same reason you cook eggs in yours. It's not that cooking rice on the stovetop is hard, it's just that I have to look after it so that it does not stick or burn. In the Insta-Pot, I don't have to worry about that, which is super nice. I hope you all are having a Merry Christmas! I received my bread machine, and I will be making your crusty mini loaves tomorrow to go along with homemade chicken noodle soup!

    We lived in northwest Indiana and visited the Middlebury/Shipshewana area quite frequently…the noodles that you used in your chicken noodle soup were made in Middlebury and an excellent Amish restaurant is there called Das Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant…there also is an Inn and many unique shops…the area has a large Amish population and there are dozens of small Amish stores at their homes and the town of Shipshewana is well known for its Amish businesses…all restaurants and stores are closed on Sundays…

    I like to use very brown bananas as well. Also cabbage is delicious added to many casseroles as it adds a little natural sweetness. My family loves cabbage so they are always happy to eay it but i believe its best added to beef,venison or pork based dishes.

    We have a historic hotel downtown that does 'Christmas Tree Elegance' to raise money for the local symphony. My mother loved to go to it and spent her last day there in fact. I love Instant Pot hard boiled eggs because they peel so easy! Loved that different camera angle during making banana bread. Potatoes I grew this year had those brown spots inside too. The ramen recipe looks fun to make for a big family. For us two I do some internet ramen hacks such as American cheese, extra veggies, chili oil, a hard boiled egg, etc...makes a meal!

    Merry Christmas and happy holidays to your sweet family. I have enjoyed your videos for over a year and we watch several of those many times but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy watching your family grow you guys are a great example and couple to those that watch you. I’ve never seen a man work so hard as Warren does and you as well in the kitchen always making sure that they are blessed with a beautiful meal anyway sending my wishes for a happy holiday your friend from Boise Idaho . I’m a mother of six boys and two daughters who are all married now we have 43 grandchildrenmany blessings hopefully coming your way.🎄🎁🌲🎄🙏🎁❤️🙏 may God always bless you and comfort you as you provide for your family like I said your friend from Boise Idaho you were saying that you have mixed feelings about cooking your noodles separate or together and I gave that a little bit of thought and if you do it separate, you actually get more volume because you have all that water that you’ve cooked the chicken or chicken and noodles in and so you can find all that if you cook it together, you’ll only have the original pot so it’s very smart when you choose to do it in the direction of having a separate park but I love watching you. I love the things you cook and I love how close you and Warren are. I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed that adores you you can see it in his eyes and that’s so unusual nowadays so continue to work hard and I hope like Hades that year business will be more than successful. This summer will be praying for you. That’s for her loving this video Wendy from Wendy from Boise Idaho . Take care of my.

    A question: in a previous video, you make hamburger buns and the bread machine. Someway, I only get 11 buns, but your video had 15 buns, so my question is what size round cutter do you use and how thick is the dough when you cut it out. You are my master chef and I own both cookbooks and spatula.

    • @acountrylife
      @acountrylife  21 день назад +1

      Mary, I make more or less depending on how many burgers I’m making. Usually I Pat the dough about 3/4 inch thick. We like smaller buns.

    Powdered milk is not inexpensive.
    Have you ever compared the price per gallon of what a container of powdered milk is compared to fresh milk?
    A 64 oz bag of GV powdered milk makes 20 quarts (5 gallons) and costs $20 that's $4 a gallon of imo watery milk.
    Whereas a gallon of fresh milk costs $3.30
