Wanted to let you know. I am an avid cook, baker, caterer. In all of my 71 years I have never made bagels. You inspired me to try them today. I added onion powder to my dough. They came out amazing!!! Thank you for teaching an old dog a new trick I have been teaching my grandchildren to do canning. Need to keep traditions going. God bless your family. Keep up the channel.
Daniel, you remind me of my own son. Not afraid to rebuild an engine , re-wire his house, work a 40 + hour week, then wash his hands and be up all night to smoke enough brisket for the entire neighborhood with all the sides!! all the while with a smile on his face!!
Since I started making bagels at home, we have never bought them since. They are sooo good. My family didn't like breakfast sandwiches made with them though, they wanted something much softer. So of all things I found a hamburger bun recipe that is sooooo good and has the perfect softness and perfect amount of toastiness with the way that I make them and now they will only eat breakfast sandwiches on those buns 🤣 Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks for sharing. I've made bagels a very long time ago. It was a lot of work & we gobbled them up. My family loves my baked goods. I mostly make cinnamon braided bread. I've made pretzels, breadsticks and homemade pizza.
Great vids you two! Love the content. A request for you to consider....how about some game processing and recipes? No sausage tho. Everyone does their own thing (even me and I don't hunt)
Yeah did you make sure your mom got some of those bagels? Sure was asking you very nicely!! You all did amazing job on those bagels so I am going to give my hand a try at these.
Hello! Thank you for the nice video. I make bagels too and do just about the exact same recipe as Sadie. (Got mine off RUclips) Have you ever tried making them into French Toast bagels? So good.
If you cut the dough into strips and roll it into a 1” diameter rope when sixes proper wrap dough around hand to form bagel pull excess away then roll in hand to close circle leg rise again 15-15 min then boil top when wet it will stick no egg wash needed
A really great way to clean the counter after flour is use a pastry scraper. Scrape the entire counter and push into hand and throw flour away. That way your wash cloth is not getting clumps of flour smashed into it
Sadie I've long been thinking that the Family Store needs a little café! Simple soups, sandwiches maybe something like quiche and breakfast sandwiches. "Don't hide your light in a bushel" ! 🎉❤
No it does not. They work hard enough now. And there are probably many more things that would need to be done and cost more than it was worth. Very limited space.
I THINK the water, divided between the ingredients and the directions don't add up? 2 cups warm water in the ingredients 1/2 cup mixed with the yeast (1.5 cups remaining warm water) Pour 1/3 cup in before mixing. I think it should be the remaining 1 1/2 cups. I started making with the directions I'd printed, but it was far too dry so added the rest. I'm also making a double batch - half plain, the rest will have some with chocolate and some with cinnamon. If I'd not tosse teh leftover blueberries the other day I'd have made some with berries.
A stainless steel dough scrapper would make cleaning your counter easier and faster. I know your grandma likes beets so I'm wondering if she has a good recipe for red beet pickled hard boiled eggs?
Question. Recipe calls for 3 1/2 cups flour. You used 4. Is that from experience and thats what we should use or try the 3 1/2 c first? Im going to buy high gluten flour. Ive always just made them with all purpose. Looks delicious!
The trick to making the perfect bagel is to add some honey to the dough... Trust me: That was the secret of the most popular bagel store in Montreal for 30 years.
When i was much younger and living in Montreal, there was a World Famous bagel bakery. It was called; Fairmont Bagel Factory. They used wood heated ovens and produced thousands a day. For the dough, they would roll it out (by hand) into a long rope size then twist it forming individual bagels. So, one bagel baker could roll out and make about 150 in 5 minutes. Keep practicing LOL.. Just like Megan, applying icing to the cookies with spoons? Doesn't anyone know about icing bags?
Did you remember to put 2 tablespoons of baking soda in your water before boiling? It’s what helps to give them a beautiful chewy texture. Anyway that’s the way I was taught. Enjoy! 🥰❤️🇨🇦🍁🙏🏻

I had a choice to either watch Your Channel 1st or The Veggie Boy Channel … I chose yours. I Chose Wisely. 😬

Then we run 🤣😂😂😂
Ooh that looks so yummy!!!! I want some cinnamon raisin bagels. Do you have that recipe??
Love your aprons
Mn yall eat good over there mmmmmmm bt la
Use a spray bottle. I do that when I make dough and that way I don’t heavy hand it by mistake. 😂❤
Good day to all.
You do great work Andrew🎉.
That's a great goal to have Veggie People!
Looks delicious! Do you have a favourite cornbread recipe. I love making cornbread. So quick and easy, but soooo tasty.

Where have you guys been? Today if February 3!

Where did you find your pizza cutter at . I really miss mine and can’t find another one like it until I saw yours !!!!
Sadie how's your sourdough starter doing? You didn't update us on how it went?
McDonalds make a sreak egg and cheese bagel that is delicious but yours looks better
You have 2 cups water in the ingredients. I find that too wet
Is the flour gluten free ? Gluten bothers my stomach. There's gotta be flour with no gluten or whatever it is that bothers me.
No it is not. You can always try however you wish. Good luck

Andrew, did you take your mother some bagels?
To Danielle and Sadie have you guys ever tried making before are cookies and cream waffle ice cream sandwich. From Perth Australia 🐨🇭🇲.

consider sourdough instead of packaged yeast
You do you....this is their recipe
You don’t want the cookie sheets on the same rack to bake cause it doesn’t let the heat circulate around the pans
Daniel, you do realize if you mess up with Sadie, the family is going to side with her.
Don't mess up!
We good? 👍
Bagels need to be boiled in water with baking soda...that is what gives them the traditional color when you bake them
Always have your pan hot before you put anything in it.
