Before the world knew Israel Adesanya as the MMA fighter, he was a rising kickboxer that few people knew of internationally.
But in the striking world, people definitely knew who he was. He was supremely talented and known for beatings 9 men in 3 nights.
In a total of 24 men bracket over 3 tournaments, he beat them all, and in a spectacular fashion.
    See it for yourself.

@@andrewgiegerich523 That would be really good to see! But as long as top rated boxers get paid more than any other top rated combat athletes than I don't think there is a good likelihood of seeing that.
Golden age boxers (like Jack Dempsey) cross-trained with wrestling to help improve their overall physical condition and to help with inside fighting. Today, not too many boxers follow that tradition, but some still do--Lomachenko comes to mind in terms of being familiar with wrestling and grappling.
I would like to see a top rated boxer-puncher like a Joe Louis, dabble in MMA.

For me the biggest game-changer is the internet. When I was a kid, the most I could hope for was reading about a big fight in the newspapers or watching on the evening news. These days you've got an event every weekend and have a chance to step into the fighters' lives and training camps through youtube and such. It's really unprecedented.
PS. Speaking of which, the UFC have been on fire this summer. Fights every weeked and every single card has had at least a couple of interesting bouts. I feel spoiled!

@@evltwin984 I mean its true dude, dig in deep into his record and look at the records of the people they fought and tell me who have they really beat? Have they beat guys like Saenchai or Rico Verhoeven? Has ISRAEL fought guys like them? Eh I dont think so, yeah he faced SOME challenge but none like UFC where he has to worry about takedowns. Even Rico Verhoeven tried MMA and said it was a different game.

@@nightfallstudios7193 hey im not disputing the fact that he doesnt have kickboxing wins over guys like baukaw, saenchai or yodsanklai- my favourite ever. But in ufc he has proved himself so far. Decisive wins over top fighters. This fight should shut up his critics ufc if he wins. But some people will always hate him due to his cocky personality. Hell ten years ago i would have too, and im a kiwi. We generally like humble people not loud mouths. I just think hes interesting & brutally truthful at times. Refreshing compared to dumb thug fighter personalities. As far as replying to to other guy here, i was mocking his " anything isreal gets support" anti semetic comment, which maybe no one noticed. 🤣

His footwork is incredible.. besides his obviously high level striking, I'm just sat here like.. which of his opponents knew this guy can fight moving forwards and backwards, and he's already long and can hit precisely..

Opponent #6: Looked like he got a toe directly in the eye from that kick. That had to hurt.
