hm.. as an intermediate artist, no one is "gifted". It is learnt through OUR hard work and OUR efforts. And if we had "gifts", we would have been able to be so awesome from the start, no need for improvements if we had it all! WE, never had it all. "Such relative ease" came through practise, it was never easy. We never had it from the start, like- Notice how none of the most awesome artists could draw hyper-realism as babies?
@@mullaiv.k.1141 Whilst I obviously take your point that becoming highly skilled at something requires dedication and extreme effort (so please don't feel I am denigrating anyone's hard work) I disagree that no one is gifted. All human beings have some specific aptitudes that lend themselves to certain activities over others. I, for example, have an aptitude for organising information, which helps immensely in my career as a teacher, and have a good ear for sounds which helps with language learning. On the other hand, my sense of balance is very poor so I would really struggle to be a great skier or gymnast. I hopefully never implied that being "gifted" meant anyone just has it all... I, however, doubt anyone would claim Mozart did not have some predisposition towards music.
@@Lixmage Understood. Having someone easily say "gifted" in something you put a lot of effort in, could in fact reach people in the wrong way. As the word "gift" means 'a thing willingly presented to someone *without payment*' It seems as if all this work, and skill aren't considered a payment. I'll give you an example, you had mentioned working as a teacher before, where you work hard to earn your payment. The payment is something you earned, it wasn't gifted to you. The earnings aren't a gift. It was a reward got your loyalty as a worker. My apologies if I had seemed rude. I wanted to defend my fellow artists and value their work. What I am trying to say is, it is a reward, and not a gift. I would like to add, that people are shaped by their environments. Mozart didn't know what was music when he was a child. His environment taught him what it was, and he developed a liking. He worked extremely hard for it. Just having good taste in music isn't all the qualifications to become a musician. We know nobody is perfect, your poor sense of balance is your payment. Gifts do not include a payment, and thus, you weren't gifted either.

@@43sticksforyou ....you just need to keep practicing....its a skill that is developed...as you may know. If you draw one eye everyday for a year.....I know your drawings would improve greatly..... this is a known fact. Every person who puts the time and effort in is rewarded with a satisfaction that cannot be bought.
That is not true . It just takes a lot of practice and once you have mastered these techniques you will be able to develop your own style and see that being artistic is not bound to just to on certain way. Edit: I meant to say ONE 😁
She's incredibly talented. I dunno....my eye came out pretty well. It's on IG under my name, if anyone wants to go have a look. This is my 3nd time drawing anything and I've never drawn an eye. I'm pretty proud and I credit her great skill and how she explained each step.
A. This video is very easy to follow and very well made and I praise you for that B. My drawing still looks like a Cat stepped on a mud and walked across my paper, guess I still have no hope for drawing even with good guides.
Maybe you just need to work on shading techniques a bit more! For me I practice shading using 3d shapes, like torus, squares, circles, triangles etc and making sure to know where your light source is coming from. Also maybe you're too heavy handed with the pencil be light and layer to darken or use cross hatching. All in all I hope this advice helps and that you'll get there in the end no matter how long it takes you.
That was one of the best art lessons I've ever had in 45 minutes. Eyes have always been something I've tried to perfect and I know they will all be much better looking after watching these techniques. Amazing! Thanks for taking the time to show us every single pencil stroke, shading, and erasing, I learn best that way.
@@bootylicker3510 Ha ! back you cheeky person. That's the prob with super cheap pencils , they keep breaking when you try to sharpen them. A world beating pencil compared to something like a world beating car is pretty cheap though. I like staedtler and mars lumograph. The mars lumograph are matt black instead of shiny dark and they're really nice pencils tro draw with. Staedtler are a good and reliable brand and you can get them anywhere. If any beginner is reading this try to get the soft grades like 4b to 8b for shading and something like a 2b for general drawing. The softer grades are much easier to erase.
@@bootylicker3510 The pencils arent too important but you need to draw a lot to improve, I'm at the stage thats good ish but could obvuiously be much better and nothing superhero.Thank you for the positive reply and good luck ! Make sure you measure your angles and sizes of things. Keep looking from what you are drawing to your observed subject something like once every second or 2. Hold your drawing pad up alongside your viewpoint of your subject if you want to check.
This was my first hyper realistic artwork. And I found it very easy to follow, I appreciate that you did not skip the eyelashes part as I struggle badly at them. Thank you for this!!!

This tutorial quite literally changed my little artist life. When I was 9 i watched this tutorial and it taught me all the fundamentals of drawing realistic eyes. My favorite thing to draw is realistic eyes and i can easily impress people 😂 Now i'm 13 and i am still getting better everyday and drawing just as many realistic eyes as I did a few years ago. THANK YOU RAPIDFIREART!!!!!!
You are awesome. You are giving so much detailing and making it much clear where to shade much or not .Hence making it much practical to visualise .And your understanding about light is great and you are also making it understandable to us easily. Trust me when I say I’m a beginner at any type of drawing. This took me 4 tries before I really slowed down and gave it an honest effort. Very amazed at my results as-in can’t believe I did it kudos to you. Great lessons learned throughout! It’s all in the details and I can’t say thanks enough!! This is a very brief, yet detailed tutorial for a hyper realistic eye I have ever seen. You gave a very good explanation of how you accomplished your drawing, and were most helpful to me. You are a wonderful artist, and I thank you for sharing your techniques.

Excellent video! I am so glad you didn't skip too fast through the process; demonstrating how much work goes into drawing!
There are 2 things I learnt from this video:
1) how to draw an eye
2) I have absolutely no artistic talent
same ... o.o
Lol...same
same O-o
That is not true . It just takes a lot of practice and once you have mastered these techniques you will be able to develop your own style and see that being artistic is not bound to just to on certain way.
Edit: I meant to say ONE 😁
@Adeday Amare 🙄🙄
Is everyone just going to ignore how good she is at drawing and shading? Its incredible.
I agree with you, she’s to good!
She's incredibly talented. I dunno....my eye came out pretty well. It's on IG under my name, if anyone wants to go have a look. This is my 3nd time drawing anything and I've never drawn an eye. I'm pretty proud and I credit her great skill and how she explained each step.
Were not .... that's why we are here. We all saw the thumbnail
Why comment the skills if u can joke about drawing circles? (Just saying: if someone doesn't see the sarcasm, I'm offended.)
I made eye contact for almost 1 hour with this eye...

A. This video is very easy to follow and very well made and I praise you for that
B. My drawing still looks like a Cat stepped on a mud and walked across my paper, guess I still have no hope for drawing even with good guides.
Maybe it just takes a few more tries or a different teaching style. Everyone has a unique way of learning :) Please don't give up
@@RapidFireArt Alright if you say so then I'll keep learning
😊
😂😂😂😂👍
💖👍
Fantastic…I’ve always had trouble with the upper eye lid! Your ‘patience’ in checking on depth with shading is particularly helpful!
Logic: looks super easy!
*is actually really hard*
Kinda but don't bother the more you made that leap of faith the more beautiful it be

Her: **Takes out fancy pencils**
Me: **Takes out dora pencil half chewed from 1st grade**
Nothing wrong with your pencil if it can draw. You don't need fancy materials but you do really need a good attitude.
